Would you go for the Intel or AMD Model? Also, if you missed the AMD review of this laptop you can find here - th-cam.com/video/2C1jCqQJ0pI/w-d-xo.html
Hey dude, I purchased omen 15 amd two years ago based on your video where you tested its body's durability. But it is not durable!! The screen tends to get bent over time. Furthermore, one time I was sitting with my laptop bag on my back and I mistakenly put a little pressure on my bag while taking back support. The pressure wasn't much. But the body got bent from the middle permanently!! Please do proper research before saying that it's durable. Rest of the laptop is fucking fire. But you shouldn't carry it along with you very often.
Ive had this laptop for a couple months now and yes there are some small imperfections w build quality but the inside hardware is what I love! 165 Hz and 1440P 3060 GTX gets the job done. I use mine as a PC set up at home w monitor. It has gotten job done from college student perspective.
The Intel model is not perfect but outside of Canada and especially in UK (prices are a bit better), it's totally been worth the money. I love mine, the soft lid has handled being checked into planes just fine and the only drawback is how loud the fans get to keep it cool
I bought the 3070 model during a summer sale, it’s pretty good overall despite the weird build quality. I really hope HP makes some upgrades in the future.
i still use my omen 17T from 2017. 1050 TI. couple upgrades like RAM and swapping the HD for a second SSD. one of my favorite purchases. keep your GPU and windows updated and you shouldnt have fans running when not gaming.
I got the Advantage Edition of this with 6800H and 6650M recently and its great. About 10 hours of battery life, excellent thermals, Freesync Premium Display, Smart Access Graphics (SAG), SAM and Smartshift Max work very well, my unit also doesn't have coil whine. The best part is I got it in Diwali sale for 3050ti laptop prices while the 6650M is faster than even 140w 3060s, highway robbery.
@@drishalballaney yes, I have to say these Advantage Edition laptops are amazing. At this point I've tried 4 AE laptops, the Zephyrus G14, Alpha 15, STRIX G15 and Omen 16, all are excellent for the price. Especially Omen 16 is unusually discounted in India so get it ASAP!
I only hope that they redesign the chasis once more so it'll have stronger top, tighter and nicer hinge and new and improve design and thermals. Otherwise still a very solid option for gaming laptop that does business on the side. You won't be wrong getting this at all.
@@MatthewMoniz indeed. They've redesign it before, now it needs another update. Hopefully the 2023 model will bring much needed improvements for this machine.
I'm sure some people will like this laptop -- it's not for me. But what I will say is HP seems to have done something I haven't seen much in a 16" laptop, and i absolutely love the idea. They took essentially a full-sized keyboard and chopped off the number pad. So you have backspace and forward delete, and the arrow keys are in the correct place (except the forward delete key, now looking more closely at it, is in a weird place...not sure we needed a 'pause' key in the spot where the delete key belongs). You also have the important page up, down, and home keys. I like it (except for, again, the weird delete key placement).
I have te previous version and its awesome. love this laptop, even though its not the "prettiest", its 3070 and 165hz screen makes it my best desktop-on-the-go.
Why do they still have the fragile lid which can easily break the display by too much pressure, while even the cheapest HP pavillion laptops have a thinner and more solid lid.
Im currently on the 015 model with R7 4700 and RTX 2060, and well... At first I thought the cpu was overheating, because it was hitting 90-100 degrees, but I did some googling, and its fine.
I'm in the market for a new laptop so I've been watching a lot of reviews. Some reviewers say AMD runs hotter and others, like you, say that Intel runs hotter, it's confusing. Anyway, I will NOT be buying an HP laptop with their flimsy display screens that flap like hung out wash on a windy day.
Been using Omen 15 with 5600h and RTX 3060, flaw is omen's app is buggy as hell, it makes fan noise way louder when the app is not on and CPU temperature way higher than in the app.
Idk man I saw Ryzen 9 and 3070ti at £1600 and ngl for a laptop in the UK I cannot find anything anywhere near as good. Build quality be damned it's got the power and the price.
82 fps in Cyberpunk with the 3070ti model, while in your 3060 model review you also had 82fps with the same settings/res? I'm assuming that number was a typo in the 3060 review.
hi, really nice and usefull video I think i have found the exact same model (HP OMEN by Laptop 16-b1009nl) on discount in Europe, from 2300 euros to 1750, i'm really looking into buying it but i would like to know i you could kindly advise me on a couple of things: the model i found has 230w adapter, was the one in the video the same? cause i have seen an I9 model with the exact same graphics but it has a 280w adapter, i wonder if that is because the 3070Ti in there is a bit more juiced-up or it's just the I9 eating those 50W. is the 3070TI max wattage 120w? or has it been underpowered to keep it cooler? and can the chassis sustain (even with max fans speed) modern openworld games at high settings for long periods of times without throttling ? thank yo uin advance for your time

I agree but whenever you type or move your laptop the display moves its quite annoying. Also, with the time the hinges get looser and if its already loose then expect wobbling to increase
@@MatthewMoniz I've had my HP Omen 15 since 2020, the screen doesn't wobble during typing, specially if it's just on a flat surface like most normal usage. In real-life, you just set it down once or twice. You won't be moving it around all the time either. The wobble, while it looks dramatic, isn't an issue on actual day-to-day use. 🙂
The new 40 series cards are very power hungry. Unlike the jump from the 20 to the 30. Laptop gpu performance is bound by power draw. Which will severely limit the perforce boost jump in laptops from 30 to 40.
It's funny how people are now disappointed when a screen is not a 16:10. Used to be the other way around when you couldn't watch your DVD on your laptop with as small amount of black lines as possible. Very loud fans and still very high temps and thermal throttling. At what point does this laptop kick you in the nuts? Meh. Good video.
well as long as the price is much more affordable than the competition, people will still buy it, after all on the long term, this laptop has no problems with the machine.
