I am born and raised in Lexington. I served in the Army so i have lived in Texas, Georgia, Korea and Arkansas. I have also drove in every big city between those locations and Illinois, Ohio and Indiana. But people here don't truly know bad traffic. Go sit in traffic in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas or El Paso. You will be sitting in traffic for hours. Here you will take 30 to 45 mins to get from downtown to Nicholasville normally. Traffic is annoying here, it's not a detriment to actually deciding to travel or not like other places. Also there are shortcuts everywhere. There is always an alternate route if you need it.
Cincinnati traffic is on another level compared to Lexington. We are very lucky to live in this beautiful city! I had to learn the back roads rather quickly to get around. If there's a wreck, no is going anywhere! haha Thanks for watching and commenting! If you ever know any one that needs help buying or selling their current home, please feel free to send them my way!
I’ve lived in Lexington all my life, since 1972, we have not had a significant upgrade to our road system in the last 40 years, when Man-O-War Blvd was made! The traffic here is indeed VERY bad.
Speaking of traffic, every large town has heavy traffic! Look at Cincinnati! I’ll take Lexington traffic any time. I’ve lived in Lexington since 1966 before New Circle Road was completed around the city. The Circle has improved flow of traffic tremendously. Then they built Man of War which helped. You guys haven’t lived here long enough to know what great improvements have been made as far as traffic. The city has grown tremendously since 1966. When we moved here there was no Vine Street, there was a railroad track running where Vine Street is now. I consider Lexington to be the best city in the state! I’ve been around long enough to see all the great improvements made in Lexington.
Yes it does, I'll take our traffic over Cincinnati any day of the week! I'm glad to hear that the flow is much better than it use to be! I used to live near Louisville growing up and prefer Lexington!
I have lived in KY since 2002, and I can honestly say I would move back to the Desert SW anyday! I have lived overseas, CA, OR, WA, TX, AZ, NM. I'm 69 years old and disabled. The summers and winters for me are *HORRIBLE*!!!! All of the other cons don't bother me. I am in the process of trying to move to a rental house, and wow is that expensive!!! $1600/month for starters. You all take care!
I am considering moving to Kentucky from Houston,Tx. I expect it to be hot in summer in Kentucky. However, i cant imagine it being as hot as Houston or anywhere else on tne gulf coast. What can yall say about the kentucky heat compared to the gulf coast heat?
I’ve lived in Kentucky most of my life except for seven years in New Mexico! I’ll take the summers in Kentucky over the south west any time! Yes Kentucky is hot and humid but there are days that the humidity is not bad.
Kentucky's "humidity" is kind of a joke to anyone who has ever been through Summer in the South or on the East coast (I've done my share of both, including the worst combination - Florida). I'd take Kentucky over most States, as far as Summer weather. I mean, yes, it's definitely more humid than Utah, Arizona, Northern California, etc. However, 87° at 55% humidity is _nothing_ compared to 105+° at _any_ humidity level. I finally took my family to Kentucky last Summer. We hit Lexington, Richmond, Berea and Winchester. Mind you, my wife and sons are Californians, born and raised. They all fell in love with Kentucky in one trip.
Hi There, I just wanted to follow up and see if you still were thinking about moving to KY? Would love to get your contact info and keep in touch for when the time comes around.
Lexington does not deal with or understand real traffic issues. Traffic may move slowly but it keeps moving. Short heavy drive times as well. Be careful driving on rural roads. No curbs just unprotected ditches.

Try California...the traffic actually stops on the interstate in the Bay Area...
Agreed the traffic in Dallas and Atlanta is horrendous.
There is good and bad things no matter where you live. You either adjust to it or don't and it is what you make of it.
Nice to see and hear what's life looks like in this part of US. Thanks for video. Best wishes from Serbia/Europe.

Hey there, just doing a quick follow up. When did you think you might be moving here? Are you waiting for a job opportunity?

If I go out in the backyard, and there's a random coyote, what am I supposed to do?

Ky is a beautiful state.
If you love liberal policies then you’ll love this place.
I've lived here as a low income resident ever since I was born here. Perceptions of this city are often significantly different based on income imo
