Frankfort is very ratchet, unfortunately because its so small everybody knows everybody so basically everybody knows your business and what they don't know, they make up🙄, rent is getting ridiculously high but compared to other cities I can't complain. The distilleries make the air smell like poop....like really FOUL🤢🤮 . One good thing about living here though is crime is not bad. If someone commits what would be considered a big crime 9 times outta ten we already knew the person and everyone saw it coming. Most of the trouble makers are always in jail so it stays pretty safe. I recommend living on the Westside, it's a little more expensive but there's more to do and the schools are better. I think law enforcement does a great job out here keeping the community safe. And the churches in Frankfort are very helpful to the community as well. I will say I disagree with what you said about traffic. That's how I knew you're not from here lol. If your truly from FrankNitty there is no such thing as traffic. Rush-hour exists everywhere. Once you clock out for the day of course everybody's tryna make it home. No matter where you live between the hours of 3 and 5 everyone is tryna get home. And don't go to kroger at that time either. It gets PACKED lol. Poverty is pretty bad out here, the homeless community is pretty big. But luckily we have lots of churches that love on them. That's all I can think of right now. Been living here for over 25 years.

Parkette had my favorite fried Chicken if I had known they were going to go away in July of 2022 I would have ate there a lot more often but I thought they had some of the best fried chicken and the reason it was so good I found out is because they used large not cooking oil there were several reasons that they went out of business it wasn't just because the brothers who owned it we're not getting along with the original owners son-in-law but also because during the coronavirus and even a year or two after that they were having a real difficult time with the supply chain to get all the ingredients they needed sometimes they want to get enough ingredients which made it hard to stay open when they couldn't cook as much food, what is July 2022 I did get to go to their sale and buy a menu not a super old one from 2013, and one of my presentations is a paper wax cup that says the park head on the front it's got to be from the late 50s or early 60s because it says introducing the new poor boy on the cup and I only paid $10 for that I keep it away from the sunlight and I keep it in a more modern paper plasticthat says Pepsi on it and I keep that in a ziplock bag in my cupboard away from the Sun.

The service was fine, the pizza was alright- but the sandwich & alfredo? Horrible. It tasted so low quality like it came from the Dollar Tree. No kidding. Where do you even buy tiny round paper thin slices of ham like that. Actually Dollar Tree has better food. The ham on my $9-10 sandwich was thinner than paper & they put maybe 3 slices on a HOAGIE. I wondered if I was being pranked by the staff. The lettuce was rough chopped, just sloppy all around. Not a nice big hoagie you'd expect for $10. It just tasted so bad to boot, I can't even describe the nasty taste, I couldn't finish it. I've never left a food review but idk how you even mess up a ham sandwich & charge someone for it. I'd have been happier going to McD's where at least you get fries & a drink with your purchase & don't feel like you just wasted your money. The alfredo? Worst from any restaurant we've ever tried. My child felt sick after eating 4 bites, so I tried it, it had no flavor. We kept adding salt, pepper, sprinkle cheese. Nothing salvaged the cheap noodles & cheap sauce. I've tried this place several times over the years always thinking maybe it was just a bad day for the cook every time, trying to give it a fair shake. It just...falls short. The pizza crust is thin & dry like cardboard & for what you pay you'd expect more meats on the pizza. We spent over $60, was charged for a drink we didn't order, all for some of the crappiest food I've ever eaten in my life. I'm sorry, truly, I just feel too ripped off to let it slide this time. I never plan to go back.

My allergies are less here in KY than they were when I lived in Cali. Substantially less. I would move to Lexington, (which I don't like), before I moved to richmond. I remember when Richmond was mostly cattle farms and then all the stores/strip mall, and housing up the wazoo. I remember when part of man o war didn't have street lights! I miss those days. I know this is a year old, but if you make new videos could you please lower the music at the end. This video blasted my ears. Not pleasant.

I've been to the antique store (pretty pricey), but never the restaurant. There dessert looked yummy. Did they have cheese or cream on all of the options? I'll have to keep an eye open for the menu changes.

I moved to Frankfort KY in 1991. What stands out to me are the lack of mosquitos from the limestone rock underground, and the bourbon and horse industries. I work for state government, and my wife does horse insurance. I moved from near Rochester NY so the winters seem mild to me, severe for someone in Florida. The bourbon distilleries smells are called angel share by bourbon drinkers, and Baptists might call it the smell of evil since most do not believe in drinking. There are a large number of Baptists and Republicans here, maybe in the 60 percent range. When the inside of the new oak barrels are charred it is a smoke smell, adding the yeast to the fermentation tanks causes a grain smell, the stills have no smell while they remove most of the water, and the barrels slowly losing water and alcohol have sort of a musty fungus smell as they age. It is good to live about 20 miles from Lexington, so house prices are less but it is a short drive to do bigger city stuff.

Lived there 20 years ago and ended up moving back home to Georgia. Almost immediately was homesick for Richmond! It's just the right size, not too big and not too small. Really pretty, too!

It's seriously hard to choose between all the small towns that surround Lexington 😅

I’ve lived in Lexington all my life, since 1972, we have not had a significant upgrade to our road system in the last 40 years, when Man-O-War Blvd was made! The traffic here is indeed VERY bad.

Nah! Lived in Fayette Co. Hated it. Way too expensive, reminds me of the west. (CA) Moved a month ago from there to a smaller town just south of Richmond. So much better, quieter, and so far no shootings. Our house was shot at one night, (6 times) barely missing us sleeping in the bed. Good luck trying to contact the LPD. They are too busy trying to figure out who's who and who shot who. Sad really. And just filthy. My experience, my life..

I was born in Lex but I grew up in Chicago, I moved to Lex in 2015 { I had previously lived in Shelby County KY for 3 yrs after leaving Chicago} and I like it, it has everything you need however, no major museums or zoos nothing like that, if you like Bourbon, horses or KY sports this is the place for you, unfortunately, I don't care for any of that LOL, work brought me here and as I have gotten older {51} slowing down a bit is good & KY, in general, does that well, things definitely move at a slower pace here but people are friendly.

I have lived in KY since 2002, and I can honestly say I would move back to the Desert SW anyday! I have lived overseas, CA, OR, WA, TX, AZ, NM. I'm 69 years old and disabled. The summers and winters for me are *HORRIBLE*!!!! All of the other cons don't bother me. I am in the process of trying to move to a rental house, and wow is that expensive!!! $1600/month for starters. You all take care!

Dude, it’s criminal to leave out Frank and Dino’s but two of the best restaurants in central Kentucky are in Midway, namely Heirloom and the Holly Hill Inn, which probably deserves a Michelin star.

I moved to Richmond from Florida and youre right theres not much to do here. However, thats the main reason why I moved here. When you move to places with entertainment a lot of people move to the same place then traffic gets chaotic. That was my experience in Florida. Rude people, heat, vehicle accidents and you can’t live without cameras or a gun. Here I feel safer, weather is good, its green, no traffic and peace. I havent seen one single bear. Im willing to travel a few miles for entertainment than sacrifice my peace by living in Florida.
