I feel you here, Tina. I have switched over to a lot of Rosemary’s synthetics. I prefer the Eclipse series over, say the 278 series. I also prefer the Ivories over the chunking or other real boar. They have a similar feel or often times a BETTER feel than the real hair and hold up much better. I am glad to hear the red dots had YOU fooled....so now I must try them. Cheers and happy painting. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for this review! I have high hopes for these brushes. However, the biggest issue I have with synthetic brushes in general (I use small rounds like sizes 0 to 3), is that after a few hours or days of painting the points can start to curl and form a permanent hook. For what I do, a very sharp tip is necessary. As a Rosemary & Co fan, I’m really curious to see how the tips of these Red Dots fare over time. Now that it has been a few months, do you have any insight as to how they hold up?
I use synths and I see what you mean. Try coating in Arabic gum after you’ve washed them (preferably if you’re storing them and not using them for a bit) helps shape them by preserving the tip and general shape. I also use extremely fine points and this works best for me
As combers, they are frayed on purpose. I’ve used them professionally on a near daily basis and found they have held up very well to normal use. Check out my brush cleaning video too. You’ll see I never use the cage typically found in brush jars and I soak all my brushes in oil after each use to stave off the need for deep cleaning too often. Hope that helps! - Tina

I tried buying a Sable brush set from Rosemary and Co and they said they don't ship to the U.S. is there another way to get them?
GREAT TINA !!
Bit concerned that it looked like the Red Dot hairs looked like they split quite easily. I don't like that in a flat brush.
