  • I have always held that my Igbo people West of the Niger, remain less in dynamism because they got inclined to the West rather than their Eastern brethren. But this was not their making.

    It surprises me to see fully blooded Igbos from *Ikwerre* who has Igbo names, Igbos looks, speaks Igbo language and everything all around him is Igboness but he stupidly denied being Igbo. I was in a FB chat with one from Ikwerre sometimes ago, I almost throw up because of the way he ignorantly said he is not Igbo while he looks Igbo all around, speak Igbo well and has Igbo surname yet he said his father told him they are not Igbos and he doesn't even want to listen to me about Igbo. *I met Uganda-girl in Asia sometime ago, she was stranded but the few people that helped her are Igbos, she was crying and questioning God why didn't you create her to be Igbo? You can imagine how I felt hearing this from a Non-Nigerian yet our Ikwerre Igbo brothers are not proud of their Igbo heritage. I am 101% proudly Igbo.*
    They really have serious case of identity crises, a lot has gone wrong in the past and their fathers deceived them to believe that they are not Igbo upon everything in them proves 100% Igbo. Firstly I thank Nnamdi Kanu for the part he played by telling them know who they really are and some are beginning to wake up to embrace their Igbo heritage while there are many that the identity crisis has done much harm to the extent they are too ignorant to even listen to any fact about their Igbo heritage. *If there is no single drop of oil found in the Eastern Nigeria, the Hausa-Fulani would have not used the political divide and rule as a way of weakening the mighty Igbos so they will suck the oil the way they like, today they own 80% oil blocks in Nigeria upon there is no drop of oil from the North, yet my fellow Igbos in Rivers States has not realized the game of divide and rule* I think OHANEZE need to consult their Igwes to bring their elders together so they will tell the young generation the truth of their Igbo origin and correct this identity crisis once and for all, after that if anyone wishes to deny his heritage, it is his personal decision. *SOMETHING REALLY NEED TO BE DONE.*

    People migrate with the language that connects them from where they came from. Benin is not spoken but Ika Igbo dialect : Ohu 1, Abor 2, Eto 3, Eno 4, Ise 5, Ishi 6, Isa 7, Isato 8, Itena 9, Iri 10. The very moment that Ika speaks Benin, that would be the very moment that the argument of not being Igbo is worn. Think about this.

    • @nosaokuns
      @nosaokuns ปีที่แล้ว

      This is reductive thinking at best, do you know that Ondo, Ado-Ekiti, Eko indigenes are actually heavily mixed Edo-Yoruboid people? Why do people think that because your language or name changes make you something that you are not? We are talking about Ancestry. No Afro American, Brazilian, Jamaica, Colombian, Haiti etc… have African names, speak African languages, eat African food but I see everywhere Yoruba, Igbos, Hausa, Fulani, Mandinka etc still say their ancestors were them. I see the Ooni saying that just because you follow the ifa religion in Brazil that you are Yoruba even though most of the Brazilian slaves were taken from Angola and Congo. It’s crazy. By most of your thinking most Africans are actually British, French, Arabs, Portuguese etc because most Africans today have Europeans names, speak European languages or Arabic languages, worship foreign Gods, wear foreign clothes, their educational system is foreign, etc…
      I understand that lack of education is to blame for this

      Your last name show your ancestry not your first name. If it’s your first name, then every Nigerian particularly Igbos are English because a lot of Nigerian including Igbos have English first names I guess that makes them English, Abi?
      The funny thing is that you Igbos, Yorubas and Hausa Fulani don’t know how tribalist you people were. In the Eastern region a lot of people changed their names to Igbo names so they can get jobs or any government positions. This was the same in the western and northern regions. That’s why the midwestern region left the west and when river state and cross river state was created in 67 to destroy Biafra. You marginalized the people there that they ran away from you. This is the fact of Nigeria.

    • @juliakeshy985
      @juliakeshy985 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nosaokunsNosa what you have said in your response is true but you have to realise that those who bear Benin and non Ibo last names have ancestry dating back to where those last names belong, could be that their ancestors left Benin to live and work outside Benin and left their children to go back to Benin much later. Benin empire was a great and vast empire some people left Benin to live in other parts of Nigeria. A typical example is the people of Uzebu quarters in Benin who hold a yearly festival with the people of Uzebu quarters in present day Ondo state where my friend comes from. They are related but the Uzebus in Yorubaland claim to be Yorubas. So people from West of the Niger are mixed up and claim where they come from depending on their last name. Solution to this mix up in my opinion? All Ibo speaking people in the south south should be grouped into one state and given an Ibo name like the Biafran movement has done then anyone within this state can then decide if they are Ibo or from elsewhere.
      Have a good day.

Forget about what they say, what they are naturally is what matters. I can tell you I am white while you are seeing me black. That is what is happening in case of these other Igbos. There are a lot of Igbo history to discuss but you always discuss this same topic in a different form. Even your accent isn't Igbo. Igbos are the most educated in Delta state. What do you mean by overloards. In kogi and Kwara Yoruba extracts can't produce governors. That's how tribal politics works in Nigeria which is sad.
