Group IV Elements - Electronic Arrangements and Properties (A2 Chemistry)

This video aimed at A-level students, explains how to write electron configurations for the first three elements in Group IV and why they are classed as p block elements. It also discusses the fact that Group IV contains non-metals, metals and the metalloid germanium and that the properties of these elements depend heavily on their bonding and structure. Finally the video explains the properties of diamond and graphite in terms of their bonding and structure and general trends in properties that exist down Group IV.
