The stone stairs leading to the home are awesome, they really set the tone for the entry. The ceilings were beautiful. My favorite part, besides the kittens, was the staircase it was an interesting design and the view from bottom to top was incredible. Another great trip with Sam & Jess!

Can you imagine a wedding there?? The wedding party coming down the stairs, I bet they did that there! I would love to see photos of it back in it's heyday as it is still so beautiful now!! You all should start taking photos of you all on the stairs where ever you go, have the camera pointing up at you while you look over the bannisters. I would think they would be great photos ( and memories). Then you could put them in your videos. a good looking bunch! When I see your videos, it relaxes my mind and takes me there. Love them so much!! 💜💜💜

The plain bedrooms on the top floor were most likely for their servants unfortunately. The other bedrooms were simply gorgeous with such stunning views and that one big palm tree 🌴 gave it the perfect Mediterranean vibe! The one next to the entrance just added to it!

You both always find great house's. They don't make homes like this anymore. And that's the sad part once they get to the point where they will knock it down.

Thank you, so much, for this video. The garden, or parc, must of been very beautiful, at the time, when it was maintained. It has a nice structure, with terraces. The pool, does not look, like it was used for swimming. But as part of the parc, with water plants, that have long, horizontal roots, maybe like in a botanic garden. With a pond, fountains, and water cascadees, etc. There might be some historic photos, from the parc, in the archive of the municipality. So, that it can be reconstructed, some time. The Portuguese nobel families, always had very beautiful formal gardens / parcs, with architectural features, statues, and colorful majolica tiles, and, sometimes, big decorative paintet pictures with majolica tiles, within the parc.
Beautiful explore! Tiles are wonderful. What a busy art that a talented person could be creating. There is always huge amounts of creativity in these big estates. 🌸🐌💙🌙 all these entryways and the doors are just gorgeous. Great staircase! And a wrap around balcony. Airy and light. I have been an Urbex fan for years and I love watching your explores. On top of the amazing explores, your voices are so calming! I also share the same fear of spiders.. and every video that Jess screams, I do too! LOL

I’ve never see such a deep pool or even a man made pond that deep before. It must have looked gorgeous when everything was in perfect condition! I’d really loved to have seen a photo of that area and the whole estate when it was new and lived in before it became bug central! I’ll say it yet again.....such a pity that such a gorgeous place gores to ruin and is just left to rot and be invaded by creatures of all shapes a sizes!

OMG, I've never seen mites that size. What kind are they? I thought mites were tiny little things that were hard to see but those guys are big. Eeeewww, it makes my skin crawl. Did they land on you at all and did they bite you? Beautiful mansion, but the bugs were horrible.

I almost can’t stand that majestic homes like this are just going to ruin. I just want to grab them up and fix them up. Maybe leave the bugs behind. Yucky! Those ceiling were to die for!!
Amazing explore! Although I'd be in the hotel shower and boil washing my clothing asap after that place!! I wonder how many of these properties just are in limbo with no one found to inherit. Some I think might have deep structural problems or termites that might just be too expensive to sort out, in which case I think the interiors, tiles everything should be salvaged and recycled rather that let it decay and collapse. It's the sign of a very broken society when you have empty buildings and a large homeless population, and so many people renting past middle age because they can't gather enough money to buy property.
Important to remember in these very old homes. There were no senior homes. When parents got old they went to live with their children, so not necessarily a large family. Also the upstairs look to be servants quarters, reminder that to have living quarters was a plus for domestic help rather than living on the street. Especially during conflicts such as WW I & II. Times were bleak in the late 19th & early 20th centuries.
The Portuguese countryside is breathtaking. So beautiful. 😊
