Waterfront/docks is a cool theme, I could imagine adding areas for Venice, Nile River, Amazon, American South/plantation/swamp, Chinese fishing village, South African shark cove, naval Base, shipping port, Meditteranean beach, carribean or australian coral reef, Indonesian island, Indian or Morrocan seaside market, English cliffs, Arctic research base, Canadian Hudson Bay hunting lodge, middle Eastern oil port.... So. Many. Ideas!!
Slightly misheard quotes from thise episode: 'You really need to make sure your coasters run as efficiently as possible, like Killerbee in Adventure Island' 'There are people that really like the art style of Parkitect, and there are people that are wrong' The different themes make this a pleasure to watch. The themes work well seperated adnd together as a whole. An hour well spent.
Okay, i loved this episode - in fact the whole series. BUT you can´t tease use with a potential silv castle build in Zoo and just leave it at that? NO!NO!NO! can you just do the castle then? DAYUM!
my computer is too slow to play parkitect... but because of this channel im considering using some of my savings to get a new one just so i can play this game. this channel has had such an influence on me lol
I remember making a part in RCT3 that had almost the exact same theme. The park was built around a huge lake in the center, and there were sea themed areas. I think I had a viking area, a japanese area, an east coast american area and a polynesian area, if I remember correctly. Super cool that you had a similar idea!
Whenever I do these type of scenarios in RCT Classic, I spam handimen to every pike of puke and garbage for a few in-game seconds and fire all of them. Instant clean park upon unpausing and no money to pay back (unless if I accidentally exceed a month). :)
That 3D sign would be so cool in the Planet series! Imagine uploading an SVG and just poof there's a stunning sign with a low poly count, that would be so awesome!
In the Dutch area the dome building reminds me of city halls like the ones in Leeuwarden and Dokkum. The roof of the tea cups could have been inspired on a traditional bandstand or a covered market like the fish market in Bruges.
You and Matt Lowne are the only two rollercoaster sim players that I would say build realistic coasters and people I would consider enthusiasts. I recently started rewatching Flabaliki's RCT3 series, and when he built a Giant Inverted Boomerang as a closed circuit coaster, I lost all hope lol. Nice job!
I like the colonial section a lot! Very simple but gives off that vibe of a small New England town or city. They have a lot of brick architecture and the train station immediately reminded me of New Haven, Connecticut. After living in this area my whole life, I'm surprised I've never really challenged myself to make a highly New England themed park in any of these games so thanks for the inspiration Silv!
I actually love the fact you didn't try any "disastrous" scenary, because while I enjoy it Parkitect isn't the best kind of game to do it, even Studio Cavy didn't quite get the theme.
I think Cavy did a cool job on the Celeste playthrough though! I just think it doesn't fit the theme of Disaster Peaks, how I imagine it at least, as well. The idea is to take a disastrous park and make it good - not to make it a bigger disastrous park :)
The teacups ride at the original Disneyland in Anaheim, California doesn’t have a permanent cover-it’s surrounded by trees, and on most the only overhead cover is the shade from those trees and some strings of lights decorated to look like festive paper lanterns (i think they’re actually metal or plastic and the cables they’re hanging on are a lot sturdier than they appear). I believe they have a set of meticulously-chosen-to-look-random heavy, multi-colored cloth tarps they can hang in winter when rain is in the forecast, but it’s supposed to look like an impromptu outdoor party and by golly they won’t let a cover get in the way of that impression. Then again, rain isn’t a major consideration in southern california, especially not in peak season, so MOST flat rides in the area operate without a rain cover.
Lovely build as always. Just a minor note about the nordic section, which I guess we can call "stave architecture"(?): Now I'm no architect, however I am a norwegian who spent more time than he cares to admit looking at old churches. As far as I'm aware, most stave churches have steep, but straight roofs. The station is also very long for a stave church, as they tend to be rather compact. Maybe consider breaking up such a large structure by making the break run a longhouse (a viking house) and the main station the stave church? Either steeper roofs or a smaller main building would definitely help sell the look. As for the detailing, the lowest roof level can have small crosses or spires at the tip instead of the carved dragon heads that you typically find higher up, but this isn't always the case (just in case you want to do another stave-inspired build at a later date and want to spice up the decor). But as I said, it all still looks lovely. I especially enjoy the little pier with the lighthouse, as it looks super cozy!
Loving the themed areas! I was a little disappointed by the American theme though. It's not all just simple shapes! If you're interested in some port town architecture I'd recommend checking out fells point, harper's ferry, monterey, cape elizabeth, or historic annapolis. Or if you're looking for a more beachy aesthetic, bethany beach, old orchard beach, etc. There's also very unique architecture in florida and louisiana port towns, due to elements of spanish and french architecture respectively.
I had to end up scrapping everything and got 7 areas (the gate side is divided into two, with the other being a techy theme anchored bt a looping coaster and a kids area; Hurricane's area is two German sub-lands: High Germany and Oktoberfest; I got the log flume and water coaster so that area would have an Ozark/Smokies theme; another generic water-themed group dry rides; a spooky themed area called Phantom Village; a generic asian themed area with a new suspended coaster called Ninja, the pirate ship, and integrated the tea cups into it-also has a swan boat launch area)
very cool to watch! it warms my heart to see so many people riding the train lol. the interacting elements and themes were very fun and interesting. thanks for a new parkitect video that i could come home after work, drink some wine, and watch to relax. excited to see what you do next!
I love watching these - this park was so hard to win so it's nice seeing what you've done! My one comment is that I kinda wished you would have gone the Nova Scotia route with the lighthouse harbour and added more colourful buildings - I think that could have been a fun one. But still, great job!
True! Jellybean houses (à la Newfoundland) would've been a pop of colour too; I made a line of them for the Biscane Beach scenario and they turned out alright. :D
I agree that many people either love the style of Parkitect or hate it. I personally hate it (even though I absolutely love these videos and what you build) but not because it is unrealistic or cartoony, but because it is too high definition for me. I love pixels, pixel art and retro-style games, so RCT1, RCT2, OpenRCT2 are more my cup of tea. On the other hand I do love the realistic style of Planet Coaster, maybe Parkitect is just in that uncanny middle ground between cartoon/game and realitistic styles.
By building the switch tracks with new coasters, you tanked the guest draw of your park. Coasters become less potent in generating guests when you have more than 3 of the same type.
I'm so glad your continuing this series! I get so much inspiration from it, and your by far my favourite coaster-sim-builder out there. Is there going to be a sandbox-parkitect project on your channel eventually? I would love that
Me: can’t figure out how to not go bankrupt in the scenario This man: deletes all the starting buildings and builds 4 small villages of different themes
Amazing video as usual! This was the one I've been waiting for 🎉🎉🎉! Now I'm off to try it out myself, didn't realize you could get $12 out of the dueling coasters.
Since you mentioned Zoos beeing build around old architecture: have you been to Wilhelma, the zoological and botanical garden in Stuttgart? Maybe combine a visit there with a trip to Trippsdrill. (When this whole mess is over ...)
Since you talk a bit about this at the start of the video: I personally like that the existing scenery in Parkitect campaign maps is kinda basic. I'm not at all a good player when it comes to detailing stuff and creating my own scenery, and it feels bad when the existing things end up just standing out as much better than anything I could come up with. That's not the case in Parkitect (at least in the maps I've played so far, haven't done all campaign yet).
Shits on Six Flags. Calls an area Hurricane Harbor. 😂. Lol. But seriously as always - Amazing job. And six flags deserves the shit in that department. Lol
S&s has a new type of coaster called axis that’s basically the swinging coaster and 4D free flys had a baby, can’t wait till they build a full size one
I have a problem in Parkitect where I can't zoom out as far as I should be able to. does anyone know how to fix this? The farthest I can zoom out, I can see like 1/4 of a small-medium sized map.
Do you have a picture of how far that is? It's tough to imagine it, but fyi, Parkitect doesn't let you zoom out very much. You can make a 4k screenshot by pressing F11 though.
Do you have any tips on how many employees to hire for a park? Like how many mechanics for a certain number of rides or how many security guards for a certain number of guests? Thanks!
I actually have no idea - but, better safe than sorry. Too many is better than too few. It's a trial and error process too - as long as you don't see constant litter and broken down rides, you're probably good to go.
Hooray Parkitect!! I love the different themes in one park, I hope you do that again! I tend to stay away from it cause transitioning between them can be really tough. Im curious how an Indian or Indonesian theme would look in Parkitect... or maybe a Koali theme? :)

God, man, how can you consistently make such pretty buildings using only the basic pieces Parkitect hands to you? Most of my buildings look like nothing but big rectangles with roofs. I always love the look of your parks. In my experience, this scenario wasn't too hard. The greatest enemy for me was my own OCD, which I couldn't stop from deleting every piece of path and rebuilding it clean and unvandalized, which cost me lots of money.

I think even short of that, I've been looking at real buildings for inspiration as I do food deliveries and a lot of them are kind of boring. To be fair, I like to take inspiration from real-life theme parks and monuments - most buildings are pretty boring! I think whether someone enjoys Parkitect or not depends on their willingness to suspend their disbelief as far as the relatively low level of detail (textures etc.) is concerned
