What does each euro ncap rating mean for each body region(for example what does good protection mean? What does adequate protection mean? What does marginal protection mean? What does weak protection mean? What does poor protection mean)? Can anyone explain it?
In most cases, ‘good protection’ means dummy values for that region indicate less than a 5% probability of injury of AIS severity 3 or greater (serious, severe or critical) - injury of the kind the part is instrumented for. Anything less than ‘good’ is harder to interpret because Euro NCAP may reduce body region scores for factors other than dummy numbers (‘modifiers’), also the risk threshold for a region to qualify for ‘poor’ based on dummy readings alone varies significantly for different regions.
