Still rocking my G3 Sennheiser system. Would NOT want to replace it should something happen to it though. This new system looks like it would be my go to. Thanks Toby!
I bought this Kit, however because of the locking mechanism on the Lav mic, it cannot be connected to any other 3.5mm port. Which adapter would i buy for this?
Hello, in which cases would you rather advise buying the more expensive Sennheiser G3? My needs are taking the sound of somebody talking in the open air and walking aswell. So not an inside set up, but an outdoor set up with some walking.
If all you need is a lavalier mic, you'll do fine with this. The major difference with the Sennheiser is tha ability to also use a handheld mic. So if you're going to also use a handheld mic, go with the Sennheiser.
Awesome video!!! Quick question. I have an a6300 and would like to get 2 of these systems. What would be my best bet to get this to work? This way I can have 2 people's dialogue recorded directly into the camera:) thanks again and I appreciate your videos!
I own this mic kit and have it set to 0db like you do on the piece but for some reason I hear static during the audio recording? What could it be? I def don't sound as good as you in my videos
Hi, I was in love with this product when I bought it but I experienced several problems with the signal when I started using it here in Barcelona. The cuts happened in distances below 40m and in many different locations (library, busy street, regular crowded street, beach, grocery store). We also tried with different cameras and it always failed, we tried 3 different kits from the same retailer (professional one) and they all failed, we tried pointing receiver and transmitter to each other and it also failed, we tried different batteries (cheap and expensive ones) and still no clue about what the problem can be. Please have a look at the example video I'll post in another comment and let me know if you can identify the cause of the signal cuts. Thanks

You would need an adapter for two xlr inputs, like the Beachtek XLR adapter. You could also use an external mixer. Another option would be to use an external recorder like the Tascam DR-60DMkII
What about if i want to record a two person interview!! i have to buy two systems? what is the best option? Also.. this systems is good to record a person in a crowd area? it would reject de noise?
Actually Lav mics typically add the most noise. They are omni directional, which are the worst for background noise. But it helps the voice sound less muffled if it's not pointed directly at the mic. It's done this way by design.
Sorry to ask!!! Any review on go pro or sj cam 4000? I am a regular viewer.
I love the new outro, crisp and smooth.
THANKYOU - this was SO HELPFUL - I was looking at the Sennheiser but couldnt justify the price. YOU ARE A CHAMPION !!!...Thankyou very much

Could you use an audio splitter off of the receiver to monitor with headphones and run into a 3.5 input?
Using Reachable batteries will reduce the range as they are slightly lower voltage, I have also herd of lithium aa batteries causing interference.
have you reviewed the digital kits?
Excellent review Toby! Short and to the subject. I really appreciate it!

hey, i have a question about this kit. is it possible to use 2 microphone for 2 person? how can i do it?
i'm a travel show producer.

You do need two systems and way to mix. It does a good job of rejecting noise- all LAV mics do.
Actually Lav mics typically add the most noise. They are omni directional, which are the worst for background noise. But it helps the voice sound less muffled if it's not pointed directly at the mic. It's done this way by design.
You can always get a unidirectional lavalier mic.
What about the noise floor? I don't want to be removing hiss in post.
Small mics are intrinsically noisy.
A Rode NT1 will need a preamp with 48V phantom power.
sounds pretty good. i still use my audio technicas.
3.5 inch input jack? Should that be 3.5mm?
this audio was all from the rodelink no overhead boom?
+Ready.Set.Lag. Yes.
Thanks for the review Toby :)
