      I second the starting spray. It works great and evaporates so quick you can hose the little buggers down and have a dry cab in less than a minute AND not cover everything in poison to then cover yourself in. Besides, who doesn't have a couple cans with them when trying to resurrect something in the weeds?

    When storing it is best to retract all the rams possible, this eliminates rust forming on the rods and returning oil to the tank leaves less room for condensation in the tank

    Why is the pump automatically being blamed ? Sounds like it’s low on oil and sucking air for sure but those Kawasaki hydraulic pumps are very tough . Did y’all preform a flow test under pressure to determine the pump was at fault?

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you're a smart man....this video was filmed about a month ago. We think it might actually be a valve control versus the pump. We are going back out there on the 6th.

    • @patrickhenry550
      @patrickhenry550 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If everything is weak it could be one of the main relief valves it might have one for each side of the pump . That pump is actually 3 pumps all built together. Two high flow pumps for all of the functions and the pilot pressure pump on the back of it for all of the controls. but if it is just one function that is weak check the circuit reliefs on that function. You need some gauges and tees and flow meters that will go up to about 60gpm to really do some serious testing.

      The travel motors use the same pumps as boom, dipper & bucket so I’d say that the pumps aren’t the problem. Need to find if both travel motors don’t work and if it’s both directions. If you’ve got no travel at all you should see if there’s any pressure going to small valve block mounted to the travel levers. You would need around 40bar pressure to this block. If you’re getting limited travel power it could leaking pressure back to tank through the rotary coupling. First job, put some hydraulic oil in it!!

    I have a new appreciation for Crescent Wrenches after watching your videos. A video regarding the hydraulic pump replacement would be interesting. Did the metal line have a hole or was it split? I have brazed pinholes on the metal lines before, with about 50% success. It depends on what condition the metal tubing is in and the type of hole that I was trying to braze.

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm

    Those 'Do Not Operate' signs are no joke.
    When I was a fisherman in the Florida Keys, a working boat anchored up while a deckhand dove in to clear the prop of rope.
    Another boat tied up alongside while they were taking a break.
    The 'diver' asked if the visiting captain would also like his prop checked for rope, while he was there.
    "Yeah, sounds great!" he replied.
    Then, after he was done gabbing, the visiting boat cast off and pulled away, totally forgetting about the diver whose arms were entangled in his prop.
    The man was rescued and sent to the hospital, with his mangled hands.

    • @frazzledude
      @frazzledude 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is best to connect and tighten the positive terminal first. That way, if the wrench happens to touch part of the metal chassis there will be no short circuit because the negative terminal is still not connected to the battery. Then when the negative terminal is finally connected it doesn’t matter if the wrench touches the frame because the negative terminal is connected to ground anyway.

    Final drives don't break at the same time. Unless one was broke and they were limping it around and the other eventually broke, but probably not, you should ask the owner. If I were working on it I'd trace the controls from the pedals to the valves and then see if it has it's own dedicated hyd pump circuit. The cavitation sounds horrid, could be screens and filters plugged, could just be low on fluid. I'd love to get that thing cheap and fix it. It's worth 5k in scrap, at the very least, but it likely will be worth more, even in the shape its in.
