- In this video we're doing a practice test for the CompTIA Security+on SY0-601 on Udemy.com from Know Direct! This is a great way to prepare yourself to take the CompTIA Security+ Certification exam, and to find out what you need to study more! It's also great for review. I try to entertain you guys a little bit too. Let's study together.
You are awesome dude! I used some of your videos for my network+ cert training and just pasted today with a 742 at 17 years old! I have both my A+ and Net+ and now going to study for my CCNA certification. Keep up the amazing work helping people learn with fun commentary!
Hey man, thanks, that means a lot. Congratulations and good luck studying for your CCNA! I will keep it up! You keep it up too, you'll be a networking wizard.
Awesome dude! I'm also 17 and passed my network+ last week 😃
@six0553 what did y’all use to study?
that great hope you get your ccna i got mine in nov it took 6 months to study and get it
currently 16 and studying for the sec+ and CCNA! wish me luck
I'm currently about 3 weeks into studying for my Sec+ so thank you for posting this and allowing us to study along with you and test our knowledge so far.
I'm not gonna lie, the hash bit had me dying after I realized what you were doing. But I just wanted to let you know that I've been watching a bunch of yours and Messer's videos in preparation for the Sec+ exam and wanted to thank you for what you do. Keep up the awesome job, and thank you again!
You’re the reason I just passed. Thank you
Great video overall! One thing to mention Port 21 is not SSH - it is FTP to control messages. I thank you for this mistake as it helps me solidify my knowledge to ensure accuracy.
It is a wild way to learn things based on others mistakes but your exam question walkthroughs (even with mistakes) is raw and more informational than someone who posts videos in a monotone approach.
Great work, my friend ❤
You are absolutely correct. Thank you for the feedback!
Love your videos! Studying for Isc2 CC and Sec+ and you are helping me so much! Also love the hashing haha
Vincent I love all your videos I’m taking a risk wanting to get into cyber security in my 40’s but your giving me the info I need to make the transition thank you!
Thanks for the content and congrats on 1k subs. I was looking for a way to get some quick test time in without a major purchase. I like this format. It's like having a digital study buddy.
Glad you're enjoying the videos and thanks for watching! When I was getting ready to test for my network plus I was looking for something like these videos on TH-cam and I didn't find them so I figured I would make them lol. I'm glad people like you have found them helpful!
Disabling unused services reduces attack footprint. If you're not running a ssh server, then there is no risk of a ssh vulnerability being used against you.. zero day or other. When it comes to sec+ Disabling unused programs is pretty much the right answer 90% of the time...
Still wild though that when ransomware is one of the absolute largest threats that disabling services would come before installing something that would potentially prevent program execution. I understand the reasoning they give, but completely disagree with it's practicality. Reducing the footprint is great, but a good ol phish with ransomware doesn't care about your footprint size. In reality, you would do both immediately before ever deploying the device in the field.
@@justincombs7433 I suspect it's more about lock down the OS before you start adding external protection.. or starting with a locked down image first... In reality, you're not wrong, they're of equal priority. Defense in depth and all that...
@@AlanDike which is where I have some gripes with Comptia. Focuses a bit much on theory at times rather than reality/practicality. Overall, great content.
Hi!
Just wanted to let you know that these videos were awesome and supported a lot in passing the exam last night. I went the whole day double reviewing all your videos and helped for assurance.
Thanks and looking forward for further certifications and your videos.
Great job Jose! Thanks for watching :)
this is awesome!!!!
Thanks so much for making these videos. They really help the studying and you are very thorough for each question.
Thanks for watching Jake! I appreciate the encouragement :) Good luck studying!
Thank you so much for making these videos, 23rd jan will be my sys-601 exam, still practicing, but I feel confident about it :)
Thanks for watching Gabriel!! Good luck brother 🙂
Man I have 5% IT background and I have to pass security+ in a couple weeks for a promotion. This incredibly helped lol thank you
Mans said hash more in this video than in an entire cryptobro’s discord server could in 4 years.
😂
watching these videos are good for me.
you do a good job man
You did a great job explaining the question, I subscribed and liked :)
Awesome, thank you!
thank you!!
Back at it with another one!! Btw, what's your equipment setup like for recording these videos.
Hey Umair 🙂 I film on my Pixel 5a with a Logitech webcam for backup. I recently got a razer siren mic for audio. I have one Ubeesize ring light and I've recently been using two house lamps for lighting. I also hang a green screen from the ceiling sometimes.
Keep it up. -🐇
Great content! I take my SYS 601 exam on Thursday. Did my practice test on CertMaster and only got 50% so I took the week off work to focus up and study hard. I’ll look at Udemy for additional study material and wanted to say thanks for these videos. I like hearing you work through the questions. Digital Study Buddy!
Just a heads up, I have heard from multiple people that the CertMaster tests are extremely difficult, and not a good gauge of readiness for Sec+. Someone that scored an average of 65% on 3 CertMaster Tests ended up with an 802 final score. I personally never used CertMaster so I can't corroborate, but check out the CompTIA subreddit to see what others are saying about it. Best of luck in your studies!
I agree with this Alex. That being said I think they're still very useful for practice because they'll push you a lot 🙂
Thank you Felix!! Good luck! Let us know how it goes 🙂
Did you pass?
I just subscribed keep up the work
Thank you for subscribing! And thank you for watching! I will :)
Got my Exam in 3 weeks and these videos have been great bro
How were the pbq’s were you? Were you able to prepare for them? If so, how?
I'm studying for my test at the end of this month and this was very helpful! At 10:18 I was screaming, "NO, PORT 22 IS SSH!!!" 😂😂
*ETA*
I got all but 2 correct, I thought it was padlock, and then thought it was motion recognition. I need to have more confidence in my answers. When I had a different answer than you, I started second guessing myself, because you know more than me lol. And then hearing your thought process convinced me you were right! Thanks again for this. I'm going to go watch part 2 tomorrow.
😂 Thanks for watching!! Glad you're finding the videos helpful
@@vincenthumble I passed yesterday! Thanks again, you're the best :)
@@highsocks4169Were the questions easier than this exam?
@@Adonis8989 Honestly, I don't remember lol. I just remember feeling like I was failing the whole time I was taking it. I got a 783 though. I probably could've scored higher, but I had a drag & drop PBQ and it just wasn't working. So I couldn't answer any of that.
Loving the info but how the hell have you got your Webcam setup? Tried OBS background removal and it was very shifty compared to how clean cut yours is.
I use chroma key and a green screen in DaVinci resolve 18
@@vincenthumble Ah thanks, il have to look into that. Really want to do some content creation for linkdn
Yes sir just get a cheap Amazon green screen and hang it on the wall or ceiling. Lighting is important. You can TH-cam a quick tutorial on how to chroma key with DaVinci resolve 18, which is free.
saved me 20 bucks
Is this accurate to the actual test? I take it in a couple days and I'm scared lol.
Could you post a link to these exams, thanks! 😊

Lol @ the hash
Glad it made you laugh
Did you skipp Q5 ?
I believe I skipped some repeated questions
SO... MUCH.. HASH on question 20!
17:26 - why some cooking video is coming in the middle - what is the purpose of this ; During Ques 20
bro 🤣 its a joke. every time he said "hash" he would show someone making hashbrowns.
Seems like my previous comment got flagged as Spam.
Hmm, I don't see anything in the spam filter. Sorry. Just turned it off. I noticed it flags comments with IP addresses in them.
The guy cooking is he part of the video or is he a bug
That's my chef, Doug
Awesome humor
