Wow this brought tears to my eyes to see my city Mindelo, to hear the Capverdean music playing, almost 20 years away from what call home. Reminded me of so many times i traveled from Santiago my father's home island entering Porto grande in the early mornings is the most beautiful feeling. I hope you had enjoyed my beautiful Mindelo City.
I'm in love with your city and its people. Sailed away to many islands and always came back home to Mindelo. It was more than a year ago I sailed into Porto Grande. And still here.
@@WindedVoyage Yes Mindelo is known a the mythic Island for a reason once you go there, Mindelo and his morabeza will remain in your heart forever. I haven't spent Carnival or New years in Mindelo for almost 20 years i miss Sao Vicente.
@@tchintdelgado3127 It's such a wonderful place with all the good and the bad. I get emotional knowing someday I must leave. I'm actually happy to have been sick here during the pandemic.
Africa Baby!!!! Can't wait for your next episodes. I am glad you missed that crazy mess Mother Nature sent to the Canary's... We patiently await the start of your next adventure!!!! You are becoming a legend Alex...LOL
@3.55 is the expression every man has done when the wife/partner/friend has just managed something simple but you still have to be nice and give praise lol..Another fantastic vid mate, loved ever single second of it. ..thank you
You're a legend Alex, another early upload means a happy start to my Thursday👏👍😀 A good voyage, free from major drama, hoping you Africa visit is really fulfilling, all the best☺️
Captain Alex- Fine job Jefe, you are slowly becoming a very respected Captain of salt or fresh water. I just hope you never get bored, you should have started this life challenge years ago. You are a natural, asking you to be safe is a waist of words. Let’s get started, I still feel like I’am aboard with you an Nat.
Greetings from the other side of the ocean, friend! Not sure if anyone commented, but we noticed that your spinnaker pole could use some control lines on it to fill the sail more and get some more fun out of those down wind passages. Like this a little bit? imgur.com/4ozKWcZ Ah, well looking again maybe you have something similar rigged up - either way. Thanks for treating us to another great video!
Hola amigos! Thanks for that observation, but I do have lines holding the pole above and below. Perhaps that isn't so obvious. Enjoy your series too. One of my favorites!
At the circus, a tightrope performer was asked what the most dangerous part of his act was. He answered “The last three feet of the tightrope!” Btw, a hanked-on storm jib, set on a removable inner forestay, would be perfect for your fin-keel boat. Galopin would absolutely love it! It would balance the third reef.
Love your videos, but plz plz consider lowering the music as it is too loud compared to your voice.. So then one have to sit with volume control and turn it up/down all the time... And unfortunately that is not that funny 😢 Otherwise, keep it up!! 👍😁👍
Hey Alex, I was wondering if you practiced your man overboard drills lately, especially with a new crew on board. Grant it Nat has been with you for a few adventures but would she be able to pull you out of the water? It is amazing how the body learns to dance with the sea, and comforting. Fair winds.
No, but we have discussed it. Dont fall over board!!! But if I do... 1). Throw out the buoy and turn off the auto pilot. 2). Turn the boat to face the wind. 3). take the sails down and hope I can swim back to the boat. Not ideal and something we do need to practice.

I'm looking into that here in Mindelo. Got the stay and sail in a trunk. I've been wanting that for a while, but the cost has been a bit steep.
Great stuff
Great vid guys , the music and comments awesome , love it

Thanks Steffen. I have improved the volume issue to the best of my abilities.
How do you travel at night Alex? With you and Natascha, Do you leave it on AutoPilot or are you manning it overnight.
Otto the autopilot is our third crew member and one of us keeps watch when not nodding off a minute or two here and there.
bravo pour cette traverse
Merci!
Did you see the news of Tazacorte being hit by the giant waves? Hope your buddies in the marina are all ok.
Yes, and everyone seems fine.
It just occurred to me after few episodes the eyes one the smile emblem is the Swiss Cross. lol

Stay safe my friend.
Will do amigo.

Pretty girl and the wind at your back what more can you ask for.....
Not much actually
If you gonna take a whole week just to upload 1 episode... why not make the videos a little longer...
Got a routine down and it suits me to do shorter weekly episodes.
