This looks like it was played on the Elephant build. That's the build the beta released on and is a different build then all the footage we had prior to kickstarter launch.@@austinc6973
in the middle of watching this, and this is how the games came across to me so far: game 1 - kdong is just messing around game 2 - kdong is just not playing at all game 3 - kdong remembered how to play RTS games
Looks like the game is already in a good spot. I especially like the prolonged back-and-forth fights. Much better than SC2 fights where things get decided sometimes in 5 seconds.
Game actually looks pretty good. Kinda disappointing that they only have 2 races for the moment though. But I like how much they are adding to each of them
The game is improving and I like how the devs are committed to creating a competitive game. It does seem like a starcraft2 clone though. I wish they made greater changes to keep their game unique and set itself apart from sc2. I'm excited for beta. I'll probably have a different opinion once I play the game.
@mood-pp4bd Yeah, you're right. I made that comment before i played it. I just played it a few hours. Definitely more like WC3. It's fun and the devs/community is great. Hoping they balance it and produce the next big rts.
The infernals just seem to be invincible. Between your channel and Artosis I've seen one Vanguard victory and that was via a cheese. The infernals can pump units out and attack and gain extra units within minutes of the game starting and the Vanguard don't seem to stand a chance. Edit a Vanguard win in this vid but that seemed to be the infernals holding back in the beginning than doing a brute/fiend rush
im all for the stormgate hype but i dont like that they are launching an open beta without one of the races, if the game is too early in development then why are we doing an open beta? weird that 2 races are just gonna get more time for everything and the balance is apparently not being considered with the 3rd race in mind
The anti-Blizzard strat; I really wish Diablo 4 did this and got player feedback MUCH earlier in the process instead of waiting until the game was too far along to fix.
@michaelschupska2047 i understand getting feedback early and i think thats cool and brave of them, to not care about criticism to try and make the best as best as possible for everyone, buut im still not sure if not having the 3rd race is a good thing, maybe its TOO early, maybe they could have focused on getting the 3rd race out already and then going into the PR mode and engaging with the community, i just think its weird that we already have patches and an open beta without a 1/3 of the core competitive gameplay
@@hausu3163 I think you are investing too much thought into that... The whole point of this beta is marketing, exposure to the public, stress testing and player feedback. The "balance patch" is just a way to fullfill those goals, so the upcoming tournament (marketing) is more balanced in distribution. Balancing has 0 priority right now and of course you can't balance the game with 2 races only. The whole idea is to prepare the game for june, where it actually releases. What would your recommend otherwise? Release it to the public the first time in june and then when everyone jumps on the game, have server issues and tons of player complaints? Its smart to show it now, let the players feel out the game without the psychological pressure of it being "released". FGS can always excuse things with "hey its a beta" and thats what the average player needs in their mind as a support to not hate. Most people can't abstract game development as a process so it is a smart way to get tons of player feedback without actually having to release.

@@Nuurix I can't speak for the OP, but I will stop posting criticisms of bad games when people stop supporting their development. The more critical we are, the more studios will get the hint that we won't settle for mediocre, soulless, rehashed, fortnite-esque garbage.

@@Nuurix If Frost Giant listened to us after releasing their first screenshots they would have scrapped the art style back then. At this point their only chance at salvation is having management step down and scrapping most of the work that's been done. I'm quite sure they don't want to hear that, but it that's what it would take for this game to be a success.

Judging a book by its cover? These kind of graphics run better on PC hardware while High texture graphics cause slowdown. This is the studio’s first game so they aren’t gonna take risks catering by to specific RTS players when RTS is already a niche genre. They want to cater to kids, as well as players who don’t have quality graphics cards. Guaranteed they’ll have texture/skin packs in the future, so complaining how a game looks too childish is very childish to say. Mario is childish looking, Spyro the dragon is childish looking. Ratchet and Clank is childish looking. All great games.

great thing is nobody is forcing you to play it and this kind of graphical style has proven to work in the industry (i.e league of legends) so it will be enjoyed by millions of people don't worry
Stormgate devs: suppressing comments and criticism at this point is a very bad idea. Your game is failing and the factions are ridiculous. Remake the game or it's going to fail completely. I promise
Wow the visual clarity has improved dramatically
I've noticed this aswell, not sure if I am just getting used to the units and maps.. or if they are adding/changing things in the right way.

Nice to see this new build. It has a lot of cool new things i loved the new infernal unit❤ even if it feels a bit under tuned
I wish they would drop the camps. That siege thing is OP, so it seems like there is going to always be a rush to get the camps.
Isn't this the best time to experiment with cool new map features? We can always go blander in the future if we want.
