- The protests against Biden aren’t just happening outside the White House. They’ve also been happening within, as several Biden administration officials have publicly resigned over the support for Israel’s war on Gaza.
Three of them - Tariq Habash, Annelle Sheline, and Hala Rharrit - join Mehdi to discuss why they chose to give up their jobs rather than continuing to work for an administration that was aiding Israel in its brutal assault on Gaza.
“It’s worse than Iraq,” Rharrit, a former U.S. diplomat, told Mehdi, adding how she watched pictures “going viral of U.S.-made bombs that would say USA and then would show the children that were killed by those bombs.”
Tariq Habash was a Palestinian-American political appointee at the Department of Education who resigned in January, making him the first Palestinian-American in the administration to do so.
“After months of trying to communicate with the president, with other people in the administration who were representing the president on these policies, it very much felt like there was an exception for Palestinians in terms of his empathy,” Habash said.
Mehdi’s interview with these three former officials was held just hours before interior department staffer Lily Greenberg Call became the first Jewish political appointee to resign in protest of the war.

The issue is that there are basically only two choices in U.S. presidential elections. While Biden’s actions and words have shown he is very similar to Trump when it comes to f.i. the Middle East and freedom of speach on college campuses, Biden is much better on other policies. So it becomes a choice of choosing between two evils or to leave that decision to other voters. I don’t know what I would do as a U.S. voter.
In my country we have a parliamentary system where we can choose between over two dozen political parties, but when I actually look at their policy proposals during an election cycle the choices often also are choosing between the lesser of several evils, and I have struggled with that as well so I have voted for the Green Party in recent years because I believe so many of our major problems have a link with climate change, although the Israeli war on Gaza and the 2 million Palestinians is a clear exception.
I had hope that in 2024 the candidates & parties in elections we get to choose from would be much better, because we had learned from the many failures in the last 100 years but it’s very clear that most of us have not learned anything at all except but to continue policies that lead to a lot of unnecessary death & starving people and people living in unsafe environments because they lack the support from their governments who are supposed to keep them safe & make the resources available to them to stay healthy.
But what shocks me the most is the levels of hate that still exist in our societies against non-white people, especially towards people from Arab & Central/South American countries and that people still overwhelmingly believe the old propaganda talking points from our supposed leaders, when there is so much information available online to educate ourselves.

I'm not endorsing Biden. But based on tfg's attitudes and actions, he wouldn't bat an eye at cattle cars and shellacking. Then, he and his associates could move in to make some tremendous real estate deals.

Love the coverage and big fan of this independent launch of Zeteo. Please figure out the audio quality issue though, across the board (and exacerbates issues like the remote guest's connection, but applies across the board to those in studio).
Don't know if there's some way TH-cam or other Google/Alphabet somehow affects this to squelch progressive voices (hope not, but wouldn't put even that conspiracy-actuality possibility past big corps at this point, of all stripes).
But if not something that uncontrollable (or if somehow even that mitigatable?) please ask whoever's doing any kind of audio engineering role (or get someone at least to advise and temporarily contract if not yet), to adjust the levels. It's literally set up now in a way that every voice has an actively grating sound on the ear, and that's literally the opposite of the context content wise and purpose wise and what I get out of it elsewise, being a very welcome and productive and beneficial addition to the current online mediasphere.
Just an FWI, the audio is fine on my device. I have heard other videos that TH-cam has distorted the sound as an attempt to censor. Not saying this is the issue but should be food for thought.
