The Barracuda rear window, was, for it's time, revolutionary. And yes, expensive to replace. Even more so now - originals are as rare as rocking horse droppings. On one of the TV car shows, and I have a feeling it might have been an early episode of 'Fast 'N' Loud', they were stripping a Barracuda down to restore it, and it was made very, very clear how rare the rear glass was, on several occasions - and somebody accidentally walked into it, knocked it off it's inspection stand, where it smashed to pieces on the workshop floor. That person then spent several days searching local, and not so local scrapyards for a replacement. Having found one, he paid for it out of his own pocket. It cost, if I remember rightly, somewhere north of $500. Thanks for showing us these models - I'll be ordering the Mercury (both colours), the green Belvedere, and that beautifully mean looking black Mach 1 - the green one is superb, but the black and silver one just edges it over the cliff. The poor guy who busted it was panicking - his job was probably on the line, and he must have checked every junkyard within 25 miles. The usual response when he asked was "Nope." That piece of glass is like the Holy Grail of car restoration.

Isn’t the Mach 1 the same car in the 007 movie ‘Diamonds Are Forever’? Looks like the red color car featured in that movie. Man, is it a thing of a beauty or what😵
RaceGrooves A quick google search says the 1971 Mach 1 was in the movie, the movie was released the same year. Unfortunately it did not have the spoilers. Don’t know why they added now. Nevertheless a great release of an older car that I usually don’t approve.
I agree that the Mustang Mach I is a sharp looking car. When I was a child in the early 70's my friend had a much older sister who purchased a bright yellow one with black stripes. The license plate 429 0CJ is the engine option - its a 429 c.i. Cobra Jet engine.
