The last ones interesting, id say maybe dont ignore the cheap (3 gem cost) level 1s- they can be great for twofold reason of (1) getting a gold coin towards the high cost level 3s, as well as (2) letting you diversify your 3 gem take turns.
As in, they may be slower than a truly uninterrupted level 3 card rush, but at least you can get them out of your hand while reserving more of those sweet sweet gold gems 💎
Splendor is quite interesting but in my opinion suffers a lot from imbalanced player skill- a knowledgable player will soundly run over newbies, and sometimes sour the game for them with such skill imbalance.
Its why WSBG is so great, we get to see some high level play!
Splendor is one of my absolute favorites!
I hate how the optimal way of playing Splendor feels so counter to how Splendor presents itself to be played. I much prefer the Korean Pokemon version, which feels more strategically interesting.
I don't agree with tip 4. Note that in none of the WSBG 2023 splendor final, was a single noble taken. Noble are not worth going for, and are a win-more mechanic that is usually ignored at the highest level of play.
Yeah, I agree, that's why I said that I don't often go for them and rarely do they apply, but on that off chance you get a perfect noble board sometimes they can slip in there. It is very rare that they come into play though.
