Fun collection of films. The kind of movies where you can just kick back with a bucket of popcorn the size of a toddler and joyfully munch away while getting lost in the action
Exactly Kurt! That was the best part of making this video, going back and revisiting them all over again! Thanks for watching as always, I appreciate it!
Great list Anthony! I actually haven’t seen any of these, and they all look pretty awesome! Adding them all to the watchlist! Love me some 80s and 90s action flicks, the best years for the genre!
@@jaimereynolds258 haha oh yes! Definitely a Stallone classic! "Winner takes all, loser takes the fall!" Cheesy 80's music, melodrama, Stallone arm wrestling to keep his kid! LOL what's not to love! Thanks for watching!
I always enjoyed Showdown in Little Tokyo. I mean sure it's kinda half baked, cartoony and rooted in cliche 80s action tropes, but this movie is entertaining as Hell, plus I do love the comic book movie vibe the director was aiming for. This movie is just a really fun and entertaining late 80s/early 90s B action movie that has everything from martial art fights to awesome gun play and that's why I love it. Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee are also a great action duo, right up there with Tango & Cash. Brandon would have been a great action hero if he was still alive. He was movie star handsome, charismatic, proficient in martial arts and he could actually act compared to the wooden performances we get from mainstream hollywood movies today.
I agree Showdown has so many fun little pieces to enjoy. The scoring, the banter between Lee and Lundgren. And I agree, Lee would have been great and certainly given Van Damme a run for his money during the 90's has he not passed. Rapid Fire was another great one too.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie yeh 2 great movies hey! Im trying to think of some more gems like that to watch today actually, hence how i come across your list (great list btw)
@@RobDementia I appreciate you stopping by the channel! I'm making a swing towards 80's and 90's themed content so its awesome to hear people are enjoying these! I just watched Shoot to Kill and Thrashin' recently as well which were fun. Thrashin' is on Prime Video for free right now if you have that. I also caught The First Power with Lou Diamond Phillips on Tubi recently. That was a forgotten on for me!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie oh yep ! Ive been trying to watch thrashin lately too.. maybe here in aus its not on prime… first power was great , just reminded me of renegades with lou diamond and keifer! Funny how a movie title can jog a memory like that.. cheers, look forward to more content on your channel mate
There's an obscure Japanese action film called Zero Woman that maybe out of print at the moment. As for some of my picks: Hard Boiled, Rumble In The Bronx, Hard To Kill & The Delta Force.
All of those are solid picks I LOVE Hard Boiled! I'm going to have to see if I can find Zero Women, love foreign actioners! Thanks for watching as always!
Watching some of these older films you get where the modern day directors get their ideas and just recycle the same story maybe flip the character gender and so forth. Like Running Man, Surviving the Game could easily be seen as The Hunt and Hunger Games plots just years earlier. Ricochet is highly underrated John Lithgow going against type was a great villain and Denzel you could tell was going to be a major star. That pool scene is still exotic and sexy I don't care what anyone says she was gorgeous. Probably broke a lot of VHS players back in the day. FX was an excellent film as well I even liked the sequel Brian Dennahee also plays a much more convincing cop with the gut and everything. The cop lady working with Brian is so much more convincing as a specialist than these CSI shows with babes in high heels who look more like strippers.
It's sad how many of these remakes, reboots and legacy sequels turn a lot of the creative ambition off. That's where I really came to appreciate this years Road House. It was able to be a true modernization of an 80s movie.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie thanks, I discovered it from a Joblo video on it and decided to watch it when it said that action hero is philosophy major in film Quite interesting as an action hero
Showdown in Little Tokyo was my favorite. I loved anything with Dolph Lundgren. Ricochet is a classic too.
Showdown is such a fun movie! Ricochet too! Thanks for watching!
Ricochet is one of the most mean spirited action flicks ever made. And I love every seconds of it. 😁
You and me both dude! Such a great movie. Lithgow and Washington in the climax is action gold!
Midnight run with deniro and grodin great action comedy film deserves a mention
Definitely a great movie! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻

Tubi has a lot of, if not all of these movies.
Thank you for watching! What are some of your picks for forgotten actioners from the 80's & 90's?
Did you ever see that Sylvester Stallone movie Over the Top? He was an arm wrestler/truck driver LOL

Love Action Jackson, that movie definitely needed a sequel.
i love the thumbnail!
Thank you!
Showdown in Little Tokyo was released in 1991, not 1990
Broken Arrow!! 😁
Solid movie - loved Travolta's little action resurgence he made in the late 90s to early 00s.

The Rookie got buried by Home Alone!!!
Still holds up as a solid action thriller!
Wasn't Tia Carrara naked in showdown in little Tokyo?
Yes she was. Not sure if it was her first role or not but very very early.
Passenger 57 1992
I hope you have a life preserver, WHY, cause your fries are drowning "COBRA"😂
Haha! I love Cobra - "I'll blow this whole place up MF"
"Go ahead...I don't shop here..."
Cliffhanger
F/X 👍👍

Stone cold 1991,the perfect weapon 1991 lol
Two classics for sure!
How is Road house, I don't it's a classic or overlooked
Heard about it few days ago
It's a fun product of its time. One of Swayze's more known flicks. Fun bar fights, cheesy dialogiue, nostalgic for the genre during the Era.
