    You are so lucky to live where you do, plenty of places to shoot, and easy availability of firearms. You need to defend and protect these things, they are always under attack.

    Thanks for the review on this weapon. Oftentimes, side-by-side 20ga are overlooked by many. It appears 12ga is most sought after. Fine by me, as my double barrel is an old 20ga that is easy enough on my 70+ body, yet potent enough for anything that isn't wanted on my place in the woods. My preferred choice in shotguns. 👍

    I think its funny to hear just about every short double called a coach gun. The fellow I bought my 100 year + Stevens called the guns he colllected barn guns. So my short double is a bern shotgun. Ain't pretty, but probably got a lot of crows, rats and rabbits on some farm.

    While 20ga may not be as powerful as 12ga, it's still got slugs that are more than capable of handling anything in the USA.

    Not to say this is a bad gun or anything, but at the price charged, the fit and finish, etc, I probably woulda gone with a Stoeger Uplander or Coach if they weren't such a pain to find right now. I got lucky and managed to pick up a Stoeger 12 and Rossi 20 GA coach gun pair at Rt 66 in Barstow

  • @Rnemhrd

    I got a 12ga stoger coach gun. The deluxe duel trigger with stainless receiver and blued barrels with choke tubes.Very good looking. Fun as heck. Wanted a coach gun for a while. They just look cool. Lol I think the stoger is the best quality and value for what they cost. I heard the 12 and 20 gauge recoil were extremely close so I went 12ga for more ammo selections

    When I was a kid (55 some odd years ago) my father and I would go down in those old gold and silver mines in Nevada, Northern California and Arizona… I look back now and wonder “what the hell were we thinking” but at 10-15 years old, it was a hoot. Sweet looking Shotgun and for me… they could leave that barrel selector off. Great video sir.

    $600 for a Turkish shotgun? No auto eject? Bidenomics?

  • @Mauser304
    @Mauser304 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    The selector problem is common, more so with inexpensive side by side shotguns than over and under. I usually decide which barrel I want to fire first, configure my chokes to that parameter, and then put a touch of glue to hold the selector.

    • @mixup98
      @mixup98  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I am thinking of also configuring my chokes and then pinning the selector switch so it will fire the right barrel first. Glue sounds like a good solution too.

    I enjoyed, as always, your video covering this shotgun. But I would rather have one in blue or black chrome, with a "classic" fore and aft safety, auto ejectors, and either a gold bead or rifle style front sight (I'm NOT a fan of fiber optic sights on any firearm for personal and professional reasons). What would really trip my trigger, so to speak, would be if the shotgun came with two each of the screw in chokes and/or rifled slug barrels as a package.

    The only thing I hate about a nickel finish is that it wears off and starts to chip off pretty quick. It'll start chipping anywhere metal rubs against metal.

    Unfortunately, Turkish-made long guns can be a hit or miss. I personally won't buy one for that reason, but their handguns seem pretty solid. I bought a Turkish-made TISAS Service Special in .45 ACP, and the fit and finish is pretty damn good. That being said, I haven't broken it down to clean it first before I hit the range, which will be the first thing I do, so I'll be able to see the inside of it properly. But I doubt there will be any defects. Got it brand new for $349. I highly recommend taking a look at TISAS (also known as "SDS Imports").
    In regards to LSI: I have an LSI Puma M92 in .454 Casull that a buddy gave me back in the mid-2000s. It's got a 16" barrel and stainless steel with fiber optic sights. I love it, but I haven't shot it in years. The front sight needs to be pinned back into place, or maybe I'll just use some JB Weld. It's finicky with loads above 260 grains, but you can fit 300 grainers in there if you angle the gun right when you cock the lever. Great fireball too! And this one was made in South America (Brazil?), not Turkey.
    How are the temps there in Nevada? Here in Oregon we're just coming out of a week-long heat wave in the low-100s. One more day of this shit and then it's back to 90s and 80s, praise be. Not fun only having one 6,0000 BTU A/C in the window when there's no insulation either lol.
    Anyways, love the videos! Take care!

    It looks like the Heritage Manufacturing Coach shotgun ( Turkish) at $ 880. rather expensive. I looked at the Heritage today, didn't see this Nickel finished Model must only be offered at Citadel. Heritage safety is in the same place but goes forward and backwards I like it better. Other than that IT'S THE SAME DAMN SHOTGUN. GUN BROKERS HAD THE HERITAGE LIST AT $ 650 ish

    Over the years I've been eyeballin' the various Stoeger side-by-side coach guns offered for sale on the racks of my local gun shops, but have been too busy collecting certain Marlin lever action rifles and carbines. And Ruger flat top Blackhawk single-action whirlinpoppers. And 1911s. And scouty-type .308 bolt guns. I even went the low-dollar, labor-intensive route of chopping an old H&R single shot break action 12ga to 20" and reinstalled the original brass bead. That's a neat piece but at less than 6 lbs it kicks like the proverbial mule.
    Fast forward to just earlier this year and in a new shop run by a friend's son there were on the wall two new Stoeger Coach Gun Supreme. These use AA grade walnut, a gloss clear finish, in blue or nickel, double trigger, hammerless, 20" barrels, screw-in chokes and a rubber recoil pad screwed onto the butt. The blued shotgun is now mine but doing time in California's Ten Day Jail.
    Thanks to the SASS crowd, it's gunsmiths, the internet and to TH-cam, I am now aware of these guns' minor flaws and their fixes. By the time I may take possession, I'll have the parts and the knowhow to tune it up to run reliably and with a decent trigger pull. I am excited to put it mildly. Finally! after 15 years of "I sure want one of those" to "pick up day can't get here soon enough!". Thanks for your video. It's been fun. See you around at some point because I too shoot where I can anywhere in the beautiful Mojave.

    I had a single trigger.Coach gun from stoger couldn't pay me to keep it.Would fire when closing barrels to receiver?Send it back twice finally.I said this firearm is a liability.That's when I got action and got my money back.We'll never own a stoger product

    Hi guys. To the uninitiated, what’s a choke and what is it used for. Also, what’s the difference between a slug and a regular shotgun shell. Thanks. 🙋‍♂️👏👏🇬🇧

    Love your videos. Nice little 20 gauge side by side... Doesn't have a lot of character, and would be better with double triggers, but it seems like a decent value and a load of fun.

    Could you do a video on the Ruger mark series .22 pistols? I know you showed them with ammo tests but they need their own video.

    Came to you guys chanell for the new 10/22 review. Not that i want another one , unless walmart sells some more 22 inch stainless ones , i loaned mine out and "it got stolen" . The 1 i have now is the 4th , a full stock , manlicher typ stock . shoots very well . My coach gun started life as a stevens double field gun , not pretty but her and me have spent more time together than me and the wife . She aint pretty either . 2 days ago 2 grizzlles mopped past the kitchen window. turned right and preabulated past the front door . i live in Montana . right next to the mountains . That old double 12 shoots better than your 20 does . i have kept this old double close for many years . Either that or the S. Blk. Hwk. with my hand loads , 300 gr.cast with a great golup of h110 and a fed mag cap . This side arm thinks it is a young carbine. Wont tell you how well it shoots. When a person calls me a lier it rasis my irer . Anyway , like you and your Son. Gary

    Citadel shotguns are cheap crap. Suck it up, save another couple hundred and get something that won't break before you reach 100 rounds.
