He said the things that saved him was it didnt fully sever the artery and his farher was with him and his father has first aid training so he knew it was a serious injury. His father wrapped scott's thumb in his t shirt and stuffed his thumb into the hole to slow the bleeding. That bought him enough time to get him to the hospital. And a piece struck him in the face breaking his nose and several other bones and injuring his eye. If you look through his videoes, he did a video on the explosion and you see him after he got out of the hospital.

I own the exact same gun that he's demonstrating; it's called "The Original Super Goose 10", engraved on the side. I purchased it in 1979 and have enjoyed it ever since.
Still a better sight than my cousin's 12-gauge, no rear sight at all just the front bead so good luck judging on anything over 50 if you don't have the same exact cheek weld every time.
Imagine what kind of long-range work this shotgun could do with a 2-4x scope on it, a hair trigger, and rifled slugs. It's a very strong contender for setting a new "farthest distance hit with a shotgun" record if it hasn't done so already. Bolt action, 34" barrel, single-piece stock - this may be the only gun I know of that could be called a "precision shotgun".
@@cericat you have much to learn young grass hopper. Shotguns are made like that. They aren’t sniper rifles. They are made to shoot fast moving targets. Instinctive shooting plays a large part in how you aim shotguns. Go to the gun store. You will be hard pressed to find rear sights on any shotguns unless they are self defense or combat shotguns that have rear ghost ring sights. If a target is flying fast from left to right and you aim at it with front and rear sights and shoot you won’t hit it. You will shoot 2 feet behind it. If you focus on sights and line up your shot you won’t lead your target properly. So what you do is line up the bead on the front of the barrel with the target, then lead your shot out In front of your targets path of travel. There is a lot of feel to it. You end up learning what “sight picture” to use on each type of shot. You don’t shoot a target flying left to right the same way as one flying straight at you. Point is, rear sights are almost worthless on a shotgun unless you shoot slugs.

I have a Mossberg 190KA bolt action 16 gauge. They are fun and unique guns that few people know about. The look on peoples' faces when you pull it out of the bag thinking it is some kind of elephant gun is hilarious!

When I first got mine I read on some forum that someone used theirs for dove with #8 or 9 shot. Can't verify that, but kind of like a modern day upland punt gun. I know it hits pretty hard.
I've seen the double barrel, the sawed-off double barrel, the roadblocker, and now the super goose. There has to be a way to get a Browning Gold 10 in your hands for one of these videos. I just so happen to have one, and we just so happen to share a state border...

I have a 10 gauge single shot. What a 34 inch barrel it's a goose gun. And that's what it's designed for hunting geese especially when they're up high. And that's my model with what you said earlier is what I've always said in the past with it. Reach out and touch someone. I've used a deer hunting before and use some pumpkin balls it hit the deer so hard and went right through it the deer didn't even know it was hit until finally they just drop straight down. And it was running dead at me and it was going to run over me because it had no other way to go. I shot a right straight through the chest cavity and pretty much almost gutted it on the spot. But it went through him so fast like I said it didn't even know it was hit and it drops around 3 ft in front of me. I thought I was going to be grabbing this thing and hog tying it because I wasn't going to let it run over me.
MMmmmmm, EGGPLANT!!!!! I LOVE scalloped eggplant!!! With some birds eye pepper sauce... Can't be beat ;-) And the shotguns cool too... My granddaddy had an old rabbit eared 10 gauge, the last time it was fired both barrels went off and he hit the deck!!! That was the LAST time that shotgun was fired ;-)

That shotgun with a scope, for close-ish or mid ranged white tail deer, 1.75oz of Lead and steel smacking something at that type of speed is insane
