Lebron is a good defender when he needs too. He was playing good defense on Draymond and Curry whenever he guarded them during the finals. Made them take bad shots, there are videos on the internet if you don't believe me
Being a 2 way player means you excel in offense and defense and to clarify that, it means you do a certain thing or two on offense and certain things on defense that are impactful enough to call you an offensive or defensive player. You don't have to be good at many things (that's called being all-rounded), you can have one impactful enough offensive skill and you can be called an offensive player and same vice versa with defense. E.g Klay Thompson is a 2 way player. He can score and he can stick to his man. He doesn't really excel in playmaking and passing, etc but his scoring is good enough to say he's an offensive player. Prime Rondo was a 2 way player. He could make plays, rebound, stick to his man and steal the ball- he doesn't excel in scoring but he's still an offensive player because of his passing and playmaking.
Being more all-rounded/versatile means having more skills on offense (shooting, scoring in general, passing, playmaking, etc) and defense (man-to-man defense, team defense, rebounding, help defense, rim protection, rebounding, etc)
With that being said, with the way LBJ coasts on defense in the regular season I would say right now Kawhi is the better 2 way player because he can expend enough energy to excel on both sides of the court (one way or another) more often and more reliably than LBJ. LBJ is still the better all-round player though because he can and will excel in utilizing more skills than Kawhi on the court on a nightly basis, even with the coasting defense in the regular season.
