I think that's what a person gets when they get robbed if they think the ring camera is going to do something it's just garbage get an alarm and be able to call the police once the person gets in the house or before they get in the house it should be a better security I watch those shows of ring Cam and people get robbed all the time so those ring cameras are worthless and that's what you get for not getting a real alarm

Why didn't he call the cops immediately? it might be like another family recently who saw it happening on the app that informed them but couldn't call the cops at the same time. I would have opt out of the app and called the cops asap.
I thought the term "home invasion" applies to the crime of burglarizing a home when people are actually home.
