Wow! What a great review, and Michael - those were some profound insights. I’m rewatching the movie. There is a part of me that wondering during your discussion - do younger audiences miss so much of metaphor and depth in some movies because of a lack of exposure to literacy in school. My children do not read full books anymore. They are sent home with packets that have an essay or short story. Then they are usually asked to reflect on their feelings or give social critique. I have had to read to my children and create reading challenges for my children and teach them to analyze classic literature.
@NathanDilts76 thanks for the comment man. There may be a time where we as parents have to teach our children about truly great literature. You are right they are no longer teaching it in our schools. This may be the reason that people are getting stupider in our culture.
