If even the police can act unlawfully, and abuse their oath, which they do routinely these days, then it is no surprise that Council officials think that they can breach the rights of citizens, by breaking the Law.
Hold these swines accountable, because they WILL take a mile, if you surrender a single inch.
If these people did their jobs correctly, in the INTERESTS of the MAJORITY of people, and not the interests of a few pressure groups and corporate entities, then they would have no need for their paranoia, as the citizens would be satisfied, most citizens at least!
This is why I shall be voting ReformUK at every opportunity from now on, we need change from top to bottom. The LibLabCON just take us all for granted, and treat us with complete disdain. I worked in education for decades. Usually for councils, of course.
In that time, a huge percentage of council activity was - imho - unlawful. From incompetence to malice, from enforcing non-existent byelaws to inventing them on the spot.
In one case, albeit 3 decades ago, local residents had to bring in the local government ombudsman to investigate why 82% of council meetings were being closed to the public.
I've come across search regulations like this before. They have only one purpose - to limit public access to meetings.
And the distressing part of so many council antics is the ease with which they use police as heavies.
One might almost think some local 'mutual organisation' was involved.

If they are allowed to get away with this small aspect of lawbreaking then they will feel emboldened to do it on a much larger scale, which is them on the road to dictatorship! Why aren't the councillors searched? They're a dodgy lot and are capable of anything unlawful - obviously.

Yes, and it was mentioned a second time - makes it pretty obvious that effective exchange of information is not permitted - I wonder what the powers worry about councillors finding out 🤔

I have a question, when you attend these Council meetings is there a limited amount of people allowed, if not then why don't you try and overwhelm them and don't let them start the meeting until everyone is able to attend !

Government at the very highest level is working very hard to trample all over our rights and we do very little to nothing to stop them. There is honour in taking on government and holding them to account at a local level that fight must be had and those taking on that duty can be held as local heroes. They work for the people not the other way round. Well done.

If it is deemed to be an illegal search in LAW then it`s easy to remedy. Sent a letter headed NOTICE OF CLAIM to the council legal department along with a copy of the legislation (A copy of the video wont hurt) where you claim assault & battery* for each incident (Time-Date), they must then either admit the offence and offer recompense OR refute the claim and risk being up in front of a CIVIL court where the Judge will usually follow the law as written. You merely have to wait for their response to decide if you want to take it to court (Not that costly and looks like a clear cut case, but do take legal advice). Either way it`s a shot across the bow they can not ignore or bluster out of. They are EMPLOYEE`S and need reminding who they work for.
    * Unwanted laying of hands on your person is Assault & battery.

@@Successfulgardendesign Keep up the great work ;0). It`a shocking just how often Councils interpret laws & regulations "loosely" to suit themselves, yet if a member of the public does anything they hold them to the letter.
