    Curious to know, how do you secure raw satellite feed of these events? I am uncertain if the coverage over the dish included the commentary during commercial break.

    • @O5fan
      @O5fan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Someone with a big satellite dish had to have recorded the race. I have heard that after 2000, the raw feeds weren't available to the average dish customer anymore.

    • @raulflores5737
      @raulflores5737 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      05fan is totally right. My grandfather had a huge dish in the back yard and we always watched the raw feed. We loved the banter during the commercials. I was the kid who was in the know in the 90s for NASCAR in my school. However since the rise of digital provides NASCAR stopped having ability to send raw feed anymore. I believe it has to do with the broadcast rights and how they have changed in the years after.

    If only Ernie didn't crash at Michigan...

    • @badbooking3221
      @badbooking3221 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was only like 27 points out of the lead heading into Michigan too. He and Dale Earnhardt were gonna duke it out straight to the final race at Atlanta.

    • @prevost8686
      @prevost8686 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He had the balls of Sr. but he didn’t have the car control that Sr. did. That’s not a slight towards Ernie. I really don’t think anyone ever matched Sr.’s ability to take a car so loose that it was undrivable and make it a top 5 car.

    • @badbooking3221
      @badbooking3221 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@prevost8686 Ernie made stupid decisions but his raw ability to drive a race car cannot be denied. He drove full-time in Cup for DK Ullrich, a team whose cars are bottom tier in quality, and got top 5's out of them. Ernie and Dale would have duked it out to Atlanta regardless because Martinsville, Charlotte, and Atlanta would have been nearly guaranteed wins for Ernie.

    I’m noticing the race is nowhere near a sellout. The only thing sellin out at this point is NASCAR brass who aren’t getting the hint that fans didn’t come to see rich peoples sons from west coast in specialized rides.

    • @sicfrynut
      @sicfrynut 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i didnt notice it in prerace but the temps where in the 40's and windy. not the best weather for watching a 5 hour race. back then only sonoma and phoenix would have been better choices for the first couple of races as texas, california, miami didnt have tracks back then.
