Back in 1981,i had a brand new Budgie in a baby blue colour,lots of chrome bits and mint paint,,,one winter evening(i remember 'cus it was dark around 6pm) my dad came home from work and called me down to the kitchen,where there was a scruffy blue bike,it looked alien to me,he said my Budgie mustve been stolen and in its place this bike was left by whoever nicked my new Budgie...the replacement bike was a space blue tomahawk,the whole thing was a joke,my budgie wasnt nicked,i still have it but i dont know where the tomahawk went,i cant even remember riding it!its on my list for finding one to restore.
Hi mate thanks for the comment, that's one funny story maybe he thought the budgie was too small for you lol 😂 There are quite a few Tomahawks about for reasonable prices have a look on ebay, That colour I done my frame in is growing on me now and can't wait to build it up, have a good week cheers 🥂

I wasn't sure on the Space Blue, when I see the colour online when Raleigh were selling them, in the 2024 Release it didn't seem to pop out. I thought Fizzy Lemon would be too bright for my eyes. I think the Space Blue has grown on me, with the Chrome, it does pop out & it looks much better in real life than the colours online show it. As in my other comment on the other video, I bought my Chopper 2024 to ride it, I hear & see many people at 6 foot 4 are riding them, but, I tried it & I just can't get my hips or back to work for it without a fair bit of pain. I also live in some steep hills, so I probably need a 10 Speed!. With my knees wanting to pop all the time as well, I have decided to sell it on. I was tempted to keep it in the shed & admire it often, but, I think they should at least be ridden when we have nice weather, so I am selling mine on in mint condition with brand new spare wheels as well. I am sure they would make collector items, but, I think Raleigh are also creating more of the collector debate in the way people cannot get spare parts for them. With a lot of rusty or bent parts on Ebay at crazy prices for some items. As for getting more Subscribers & Views, I think the cat may end up doing it, more than the iconic chopper!
@@paulmartin4971 - Everytime, I type a Massive reply, it seems to error & not save out. Ideally, £1350 is more or less my original cost price with all the extras & spare wheels. Original cost of bike was £999, Both new wheels complete & an extra rear tyre, was £300+ approx, Spare other pedals & wing mirrors & clamps, not fitted were £50 approx.
@@paulmartin4971 - Obviously, if I got £1400, you could take £50 commission out of it. As I was originally going to ask for that and that seems a fair price & they will only go up in value for people that also have the time & space to store & use them.
The silver Chopper looks the business in the sun and so does the Prismatic with it's glistening decals. ❤ i don't blame you for keeping the Grifter, i thought you were mad selling it the first time around. 😝

@paulmartin4971 I went to the Wheels Festival in Great Yarmouth a few weeks ago and it was non-stop, people pointing and saying "Raleigh Chopper!!". 😁 I went up the shop on it on Wednesday, came out to unlock it and a Scottish bloke was talking to me, he was amazed because he hadn't seen one in years.
Those set ups on beadles about when they did the car swapping pranks.. they were all fiesta xr2's if I remember rightly. Keep the grifter. All the choppers look mint. Good work
