That is true, she has built a prominent career in the Nefherlands and gets credited as both. But knowing how the annoying American media is, they will promote her as a impersonator solely because she sounds like the artist shes tributing to.
Impersonator? She wrote more songs than Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Pavarotti, Maria Callas and Whitney Houston all together. Mostly in Dutch, her native language. Inform yourself, like caring people do before giving an opinion.
@@hermanmertens8383 I didn't say she isn't a composer or legit. My comment is when she sings a Whitney Houston song she sounds like Whitney. When she sings a Lady GaGa song she sounds like Lady GaGa. When you manipulate your voice to do as similar as a replication of an artist who has recorded a song it is an impersonation. I frankly love her. She has a video singing Always that is stirring. Some of her performances on AGT were mesmerizing. If you sing like Lady Gaga and sound like Lady Gaga you are impersonating Lady Gaga. Right down to inflections and phrasing. That's all. She has great voice. AND she does some spot on impersonations. That's my opinion whether or not she is a prolific composer which apparently Mr.Mertens thinks is pertinent information 'before formulating an opinion?'
@@markschmandt6952Staying as close as possible to the original if she chooses to do so or making it own in other cases just proves her limitless vocal skills. Other singers have no other options but making a song their own, because lack of vocal abilities. They sing according to their skills. And that is mostly inferior to the original. When ms. Grace chooses to follow the original it is because of honoring the original singer. And yet it is mostly better, including Gaga.
