That kid you described at the beginning of the video... I was one of those kids, and no, I never beat the boss. So i'm finally coming here to see just why I couldn't manage it.
my dad was literally the first guy to actually kill judge doom. he couldn't beat the rest though. couldn't find out what to do with the dip stuff though.
You have no rythm that's why you can't win. The soft punches build to the hard ones as you land the meter fills. Find the rhythm and victory will be yours.

Dude, it took me 20 years to this very day to figure out how to beat this game. As a kid, I thought I had to be an idiot or something to not know how to beat doom. Thanks for posting this. I must of beat doom the first part a 1k times with the glitch, but never knew after you picked up the cannon you had to use it on him. And without any internet in those days, it was frustration city for me back in the day when I was a kid!!
If you do the trick right, Doom will get banged around like a sex doll until he falls to the ground. But while it's common knowledge to hold B to fully spray Doom with the Dip Cannon, it's also possible to accidentally hit the ladder instead -- leaving Doom to one-shot you. I beat Doom twice today, finding the rhythm in those punches actually becomes fun. It's amazing you can't possibly have enough ammo to beat Doom without a finger numbing fist-fight.
I think the problem with games like these from this era; is that they were designed by guys who didn't actually game. Pretty much games designed by businessmen. "Hey it'd be cool if he has to tap the button over and over to charge up his punch" "Yeah! That sounds interesting; let's do it!" and therein, you end up with a whole heap of games done by guys who literally weren't actually thinking clearly.
The thing about this battle with Doom if they had where Doom is trying use the steam roller on you as Eddie Valiant but you manage to find a Acme portal hole 🕳 use it to free yourself from the magnet to the barrel and get out of the way as Doom get himself run over by a steam roller and you think to yourself as Eddie Valiant thinking he's dead, but oh no, you say Holy shit! He's an cartoon that where it gets dangerous, you're not really surprised, That lamebrain freeway only can be cooked up by cartoon, and after seeing Doom as a cartoon your face look like 😨.
I discovered 2 glitches, one of which that would make the boss fight easier. and one that was just there. 1. build up the punch strength, then let Doom's dagger hit you, switch weapons while you're in midair. this makes the other projectile items that you can use on other on-screen characters (boxing gloves, six shooter, pie, etc.) able to actually do damage to Doom. It'll be tougher with the baseball and crowbar. Just make sure you KICK his ass down to half or less, because if you run out of weapons, you're S.O.L. it also holds the Punch strength during the toggle so you don't have to recharge unless you get hit while trying yo punch, or your Button tapping timing is off. Doesn't make up for the lazy programming that made this fight unbearably tough, but still. 2. After you knock Doom out and get the dip cannon, you can leave the warehouse if you walk diagonal-Down, and shoot Doom as you go. hold and release the fire button in the 1-2-3. just remember to toss another ball on your way out, or That Stupid Weasel will kill you on the way out. Also, the Dip cannon will vanish.
I think when I was playing as a kid, I might have accidentally performed that first bug and then wondered why the weapons were good all of a sudden. Maybe I had to wait a a while to use them, I might have thought.
Wow... I was unlucky enough to play this once as a kid. I still want that 15 minutes or so I spent actually trying to play this piece of crap back, but at least now I'm glad I didn't get this far. Fantastic video dude, keep 'em coming.
I got this game for Christmas too! I guess my relatives bought it because it was my all time favorite movie and still is. I wasn't entirely disappointed with the entire game, but replaying it this past week reminded me how stupid the boss battle was and I immediately went searching for something like this video to soothe me, thanks. I figured out the cheese strat back then but only remembered it after seeing it here.
I somehow got to this boss as a young lad by 3 weeks of trial and error and I believe I accidentally got him to fall in the truck but it said game over or some glitch shit

Years later, it finally ate at me long enough to download an NES emulator ad a couple of roms of games I never beat and wanted to know the ending of. This was one of them, and using save states I managed to beat it. I was so proud of myself. Imagine how I'd feel if I DIDN'T use save states!

I have a stupid boss battle:Ghoma from the 1st Zelda.All you have to do is shoot an arrow into his eye once and he's dead.It makes any T-1000 fight look like Shakespeare.
This game was made in 1987, 1988 tops. Megaman 4 was made in 1991. I'm pretty sure such an idea (holding the B to charge) would've been implemented if there was a game that used something like that, in this case, MM4.
I can't believe the Company behind some of Nintendo's greatest every games, the company responsible for a game with one of the greatest soundtracks of all time in Perfect Dark could design a game this bad!
That's because you need to find the detonator and some dynamite. Once you have found both items, go south and look for the tunnel that is being blocked by a brick wall. Go up against the wall and press the B Button to blast it away.

Once there, I didn't discover the trick so I had to beat Judge doom the lengthy and tedious way. Not sure how I managed to pull it off to be honest. It was a while back.

The Judge Doom fight is so unfair. If Doom only took around ten to twenty hits, the battle might be bearable. Oh yeah, didn't die instantly if you failed to dip cannon his ass into the next life. But no, the game designers had to be assholes.

How did so many people have issues with beating doom, first time i encountered him i beat him with the constant punch by getting him in the corner and avg 3-4 max punch strengths per second. Got him down in about 30 secs

in transformers ds there is a glitch like the one where you kill him and he kills you.but its funnyer because its a boss and starscream flys off and bumble bee is alive and hes shooting while a cut seen is playing so its kinda funny.

I never finished this G.D. game because of that battle. Something reminded me of the game the other day so I felt compelled to search for it online.
