Most JP members just plaster the landscape with cool individual buildings, but they never seem to care about the spaces between them.
Old JP server looks like a theme park. Even EN has more "world building".
Ollie is one of the reason the ID server looks beautiful. Like minimally those sheer dirt cliffs should be covered by a stone wall to make it look physically plausible.
It's an issue we all knew the ID girls were going to face when they were going to be on the same server as the EN and JP girls. The latter groups don't know and or don't care enough about the finer aspects of aesthetic design in Minecraft. There's no planning. Like Pekora said earlier this week what the rest of them have made on the server is more akin to an amusement park than a well planned and built series of structures. Sure, Minecraft doesn't have to be this way but that's definitely the way the ID holomems plans their projects.

It's easier to look at too if the environment is well planned. It's hurt to the eyes, just like jp server. Don't get me wrong there's so much nice and beautiful buildings in jp server but see it in a long time makes me feel tired.

This is why holoID server is so beautiful. They were not only building houses or towers but also taking care of the environment
Much easier to coordinate 6 members and later 9 into doing that, than jp side that already had like 20 when the old server started.

I think she's one of the best decorators and her roads and paths are beautiful. Her path through woods/fields that she made for Holo EN server, with the lamps, ponds, streams and greenery live rent-free in my head.

I really do appreciate the ID girls planning out their builds, coordinating things, terraforming and all that. It takes a lot of time and patience. The JP girls just want to build and they tend to just demolish anything around until they have a flat surface and the build whatever they fancy. The next member comes along puts another build right next to the previous one. JP tend to have their build areas end up looking like a theme park or a fair ground as a result. EN can be somewhat of a mix depending on the member but I do think they try to give each other plenty of room to work with.
Holo EN aren't really hardcore about minecraft but I do appreciate Fauna's megahuge tree project, really cool. Just need Ame to throw Nukos around the server.
Yeah same as me when playing Minecraft. I prefer search flat land than do terraforming, but it is because I play in mobile, don't like the controller
EN to go look for a place where they don't interfere with other people and actually use the unlimited space of the server.
Of course everyone building close to each other and underneath like JP does, opens up for more fun interactions.
I think this is the reason why the ID girl's building faaaar from the center of the city. They prefer dedicated island or untouched valley.
I think if in real life someone build their house like that i am sure it will cause a landslide when a heavy rain comes.

Its the usual real estate developer planning. Make fancy beautified buildings, or compact useful buildings, good looking garden or yards, and done. You see the nice front and sides, you enter and see the beautiful building. Just dont look at the back. Thats why Towa decided to move, she doesnt want her backyard to be shit, even tho that shit is just Nene's secret house entrance.
Well, atleast she has Okayu, who terraform that big cave in front of her house. So people can get a good look at her loving heart chair on her yard
I'm glad we have girls like Ollie on the server, cause whatever the hell she do with the landscaping helps A LOT with whatever the JP girls build on the server. it add more to the build that the JP girls did.

Terraforming is easily one of the hardest, and most time consuming parts of a build. It's hard to want to spend so much time on something that when done really well, people won't spend as much time thinking about as the main structure itself. People who are skilled in landscaping and terraforming can be a rare breed.

I mean this is still an improvement compared with old Holoserver, where at some places the dirt is just one layer to flatten everything in the general area of the town center and below is still the holes and rivers from the original generated terrain.

Gw selalu bilang server jp itu kacau banget. Dan mereka bawa itu ke server yg baru ini, apalagi ditambah ini server bersama, makin banyak dah tuh yg bangun sembarangan entah dari id, jp, en. Maksud gw kalo masalah bangun membangun mereka jago² seperti yg dikatakan ollie disini, tp ya gitu, gak tertata. Ngeliatnya lama2 capek. Sayang bgt gt kalo ada bangunan yg cantik tp sekitarnya amburadul. Dan contoh lingkungan yg gw suka kayak id server, udah bangunannya bagus2 tertata pula, jd liatnya enak, adem. Bahkan server en yg kebanyakan masih hutan belantara msh bisa gw nikmatin lbh lama drpd server jp.
The ID girls and JP girls just have different building style and cultures imo. ID girls prefer to use not only their buildings, but also the environment around it to maximize their building's aesthetics. That's why it's very important for the ID girls to have a considerable space from each other whenever they want to build something. Even Kobo, the one who's considered as the least competent builder among the ID girls, still follow this unwritten rule and built her glass house with a well considered landscape surrounding it from her part that manage to add some unique charm to it despite the building's simplistic design itself if you take out the surrounding environment out of the equation
JP girls (and also some of the EN girls too to some extent actually) however tends to want the maximum points to go to their building alone. Hence why the surroundings to their buildings tends to look like a mess, while their buildings always look catchy and stands out. If we judge from the buildings alone, I'll say the JP girls are actually the better builders compared to the ID girls, but for overall aesthetics wise, ID girls won hands down
The id girls might inspire more jp members to improve their terraforming skills. The jp houses are great but the roads and paths connecting the builds are just bad lol

The social gap is just impeccable: you may look (or live) at a very tall beautiful high end apartment and behind that beautiful building is just bunch of slump area, where 5 people sleep on 2x3 meter room on the piece of cardboard every night with their child having one meal a day, beautiful Indonesia ;)

In several other countries, there is the same situation in areas that have disparities.
So, what does that have to do with the Minecraft game?
Not OCD, just common sense. What does the best-looking building matter when everything around it looks like crap?
It's one of the things I personally *really* dislike about the JP style of building. They just flatten everything and then slap their building on top of it. You could do much more interesting builds by integrating them into the terrain, like a house halfway into a hillside, with the second story "balcony" actually being a ground-level terrace further up the hill for example...
Everytime I watching most JP members doing Minecraft build, when they start flattening the floor and make flat cliffs all over the places, I just can't handle it and stopped watching 🤢
I know it is due to previous JP server is in large biome settings, basically everywhere is the same level due to old terrain generation algorithm, so flattening all out is still acceptable...
But now the terrain generation algorithm is better that before, and new server is no longer in large biome settings, so... flattening just make things uglier 🤢
