    Can’t really compare the two... it’s like comparing a yacht vs a canoe lol
    Glad y’all had fun, definitely looks like a great time!

      Haha I know right?? I just thought it would be fun to make a comparison, especially in an area that the bugs definitely had more room for fun 😂 had it been muddy this while video would have been different!

    Old saying " Difference between two wheel drive and four wheel drive is SPEED. "

      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Isn't that true?? Haha they are two different beasts. Had it been muddy I'm sure we would have been begging him for a pull 😉😂 we were just skinny enough to not really worry about the ditches, he was not so lucky!

    You can set my bug on fire an push it down hill. I still won't trade it for a stepside instead!!
    Great footage looks like everyone had fun!!

    Thank you for this video. I’m trying to convince my dad to let me get a VW Beetle as my first car and his argument against it is that they have no off road capabilities. Hopefully these Baja Beetles will do the trick!

    • @dustbuggy
      @dustbuggy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, they definitely don't have "no off-road capability" 😉🤙

      All a bug needs to do great is ground clearance. I've lifted mine for $300 in lift spindles and even better with some larger tires. I've a habit of driving around trucks who are taking forever calculating how to tackle the next obstacle. Anything but rock crawling I would take a bug over anything else

    I had a Baja Bug I bought in the 1984. Was great fun. Sold it in 1995 , biggest regret.

    I'm getting ready go on a baja ride at five today, just waiting for it to cool down a bit.
    I'm going to try out some trails that I haven't been on before. After this video I'm hoping that they're pretty washed out as well.
    I should get a camera to bring along. It's fun to watch your off-road areas! The Dust Buggy and Joe's Baja were really moving in this one! What size is Joe's motor? It seems to do good!

    • @dustbuggy
      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joe has a 1641 in his baja. He also has a street bug that has a 1776, we have a small clip of it in our Santa Monica pier vw meet video 😁 it's real purdy! Not like the dust buggy 😂

      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also if you are looking for a good but cheap camera all my footage comes from a wasp camo cam. I got it for $50 on Amazon and just keep collecting more very now and then. Pretty affordable 🖒 you just need an sd card after that

    • @dustbuggy
      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would love to see some footage of yours if you ever get some 😁 let me know if you do upload any!

      @@dustbuggy - Since I have an hour, before I plan to leave. I'm going to try to throw a quick charge on whatever junk cameras that I have lying around. I'll see if any of them work out on the trail. I will look into the wasp camo cam that you mention. It looks like it has good resolution and that is a nice price that you don't have to worry too much if it falls off or gets ran over. I really enjoy watching your Dust Buggy videos! I love when you take the time to slow down the footage to show the vehicles suspension impact or drop off of obstacles. Are you doing that while using your editing program? All I have ever used is Windows Movie Maker, and I don't know if it has that feature.

    • @dustbuggy
      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback, I love slowing down those moments too 😁 it does takes a bit of guessing and checking to get it in the right location and look okay though. I'm using powerdirector cyberlink on my cell phone! Been making everything on it so far. One day when i have the funds I'll make the leap to a computer and get a better editing program. I'll probably be able to put out higher quality vids after that 😉 I've heard a lot of people say movie maker is decent software to use. And if you have a buddy to go with you they can always get out and film you going over something on their cell phone! 🖒 I filmed the chevy going through the wash out area on my cell 😂

    where you can found 2332cc engine?

    • @dustbuggy
      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to build one from a 1600 or find someone that can. Maybe you can look online but that'll be pricey

    • @goransamatovic3552
      @goransamatovic3552 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dust Buggy thanks and what is hp of it

    • @dustbuggy
      @dustbuggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never really checked but should produce somewhere around 180-200. Ours was built low compression (8.5 to 1) for more reliability so it'll be closer to 180. 2.3 with 10.5 to one would be closer to 200

      Yea, OK. Baja's are so light, as long as you keep momentum, they'll get you where you need to go. You should TH-cam baja bugs and see where people put these things. I'll put mine up against pretty much any Jeep, any day. Then again, mine isn't a typical baja. Roll cage, 36 inch FOA's on the back with 16 in travel, 14 inches up front, 33x10.5x15's, and 18.5 inches ground clearance, and a stout motor.
