I litter box trained my Havi. I kind of prefer a well defined space with a raised rim. I use a Sr. Cat litter pan with a lowered side entrance and place the pad in it with a raised grating system I configured from a sheet of fluorescent light diffuser gridding and a sheet of heavy duty plastic canvas. His paws don't get pee on them to track pee smell through home. I pick up and flush solids.
