why not, most PCs are running on windows, so it makes sense for Microsoft to consider PC their platform even despite the fact that most games are sold on steam
It's partially that. They are fighting a console WAR, not a console battle. I have always been with Playstation and always preferred it, but Elder Scrolls 6 will almost certainly be game of the year whatever year it comes out, and if it is anything like the previous elder scrolls games (other than ESO) it will manage to be one of the largest games around until the next Elder Scrolls comes out, exclusively on PC and the next gen X-Box.
I also don't think Xbox cares about their consoles too much anymore they have stated they already lost the console war and are just focusing on selling games which is more profitable
Dude because Microsoft makes absolute bank from products surrounding gaming it doesn’t matter how much they make from Xbox alone. It’s simply to prevent either Sony or Nintendo from having a higher market share. Xbox games publishing is where the actual money is made, and wouldn’t you know they publish on 2 platforms compared to both Sony and Nintendo’s single platform.
The biggest problem with this is that for years the gaming community has been asking for companies to stop exclusives, to give players the freedom to enjoy games with whatever hardware they have avaliable. And now that one company is doing that, all they do is dunk on them for not hitting arbitrary sales figures like the other companies. Bro, like what the fuck do we want from them? Do we want them to cater to us, the consumer, or to their shareholders? Whatever your answer, stick with it and stop flip flopping like damn
not everyone in the gaming community is asking for exclusives to stop. The only thing people are asking for is to stopputting gamrs that weren’t exclusives to become exclusive
Exactly. Like bro the idea of exclusives is shit. You're basically saying you don't trust your console to sell consoles. You need a video games to sell your consoles because you're console is trash. Plus with the push for cross-platform you are limiting the ability to do cross-platform by making a game exclusive. That's why most of the exclusives are being moved to PlayStation now. Because cross-platform doesn't need anything if the other platforms don't have it. And they can advertise this as a power move because they say yeah we don't need exclusive video games to sell our console our console is just good. The thing is as gamers we need to now pressure Sony more to start making their shit not exclusive. And I think the PS5 pro is a good start point because this thing is so ridiculously expensive for no reason that it's basically a scam. Start buying xboxes instead.
@@WorstSpieler While I have heard people complaining about games that weren't exclusive becoming exclusive I've heard a much larger push to get rid of exclusives in general. They limit your market. Especially with cross-platform becoming more of a thing cross-platform literally doesn't work if it's not another platforms. More gamers want more games to be cross-plat so more games need to be non-exclusive. The biggest point against that is helldivers. Hell divers is a playstation exclusive. It's first game and second game are both playstation exclusive and yet there is such a big cry from the community to make it cross-platform. To supposedly bringing the ODSTs. People want more cross platform support therfore people want less exclusives.
Not at all, in fact, Gamepass is generating 0% profit, because its expensive to maintain and players just keep making new accounts to get Gamepass cheaper for like a dollar.
@hamzarahmani7740 No, it didn't. This video came out in September. Spiderman 2 won't be on PC until Jan 2025. The point of this video is DAY ONE exclusives, meaning getting to play them the day they drop. Spider-Man 2 came out last year, so even if it did release a couple of months ago for PC, it's not a day one exclusive. Besides that, it was never really a question if Spider-Man 2 would eventually be released to PC since Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales both released to PC a couple of years after it was released on Playstation. Now, if you were into the more shadier side of PC gaming, then you would have been able to play Spider-Man 2 about 8 months ago on PC. The massive hack Sony suffered earlier this year included Spider-Man 2, and modders were able to piece together the files into a working playable version of the game that was indistinguishable from the release on PS5. Now, there is some key differences from that "unofficial" version and the version that will be released in January. The unofficial version isn't optimized, so the size of it is over 250 GB, while the official release in January will probably be a little over 100 GB. It also doesn't have some features that most likely will be a part of the official release, like upscaling and frame generation. It also didn't have key mapping for keyboard and mouse, but was later added separately by modders. It also didn't have Xbox controller icons. An Xbox controller would work, but it wouldn't show the icons that is on an Xbox controller and instead would show the PS5 controller icons, you just had to press the corresponding buttons, like if it said to press "X" you would have to press "A" on the Xbox controller. The Xbox controller icons were also added separately later by modders as well.
@@hamzarahmani7740But he was talking about people wanting to play day one. If you're on PC you still have to wait a minimum of a year, and most of the time it's a lot more than a year

Both Nintendo and Microsoft are actually doing really well this generation. Just look at how many PC gamepass subscribers there. A lot of gamers usually wait for brand new games to come to gamepass. Mircrosoft and Sony sell their consoles at a loss too. And try to make profits with game sales. One of the reasons Nintendo likes to use weaker hardware is because they make profit of both hardware band software.
@@PhoenixKeebsthat’s what I do I don’t really buy games on Xbox anymore cuz I’ll wait for it to come to gamepass in a few months and a lot of good games are day one Xbox gamepass I didn’t even buy starfield, lies of p, Forza Motorsport, or heck even sea of thieves because they were on gamepass day one and I’ve logged 300+ hours on each of those games (maybe not startield) but without a doubt gamepass is best bang for buck it’s just 15 bucks and I can share it with people in my family with an Xbox they have to be operating at a loss
@@PhoenixKeebs Nintendo doesn't make money of selling hardware, they never did, selling consoles at loss was always THE strategy to sell this kind of hardware since the 80s, and it didn't changed, but Sony now tried to scam people with PS5 Pro which costs 400$ to build and sell it for 700$ and more, this will backfire drasticaly

Microsoft has said for years that the consoles were selling at a loss they essentially said fuck it and decided it doesn't matter because the ecosystem all connects now anyway cross compatibility and users on the games brings in more money than a few extra console sales
Most fps shooting games now are free so it draw morn people. When the game first came out most people will just wait for it on sale than buy it. In the end they still mark mad money cuz people own pc now day
Nobody likes playing on console anyway… everyone would much rather play on a PC. If it weren’t for the exclusives, everyone would switch to PC. Sony needs the exclusives to stay alive 😂

No, they do it to hurt Sony and Nintendo sales. The goal has been and always will be to push people towards buying more PCs where they make more money.
@bransonwalter5588 not really i mean shit there whole thing was getting out of the console market and they just took a big step by making ppl able to play Xbox without a console or a pc and even if they were pushing people to buy a pc it's not really a bad thing considering the other two companies at this point are down right scuzzy as hell
Nah, this method has been making them BANK with Game Pass, probably way more than they would selling consoles. EDIT: I started a small war in the replies.
@@Arthur76180Phil Spencer has repeatedly stated that the Xbox game pass is profitable. Granted, he’s the CEO of Microsoft so it would be in his best interest to say it is profitable but lying in front of investors is basically a big NO. “According to that data, revenue generated through Xbox Game Pass was $2.9bn in the fiscal period ending January 2021.” “Compared with Microsoft's total yearly Xbox revenue ($16.28bn), Game Pass made up roughly 18 percent. It was also nearly 30 percent of its games and services revenue ($12.581) for the same period.” -Ed Nightingale Deputy News Editor | Eurogamer Currently, the Xbox game pass is quite profitable from a revenue standpoint. Indeed, profit /= revenue but we can deduce from Spencer’s remarks and quotations from the Activision-Blizzard acquisition that the Xbox game pass is indeed making money. Would it be sustainable? If Microsoft becomes the sole corporation of the game subscription service then it would indeed be very lucrative. However, as with streaming, things might get messy or unsustainable but streaming services like Netflix still generate profit and sustain itself.
@@Iandar1 Consoles sales don't even make up most of the earnings Sony makes. It's quite literally the games that make up 90% of their revenue on consoles. So your point does not matter in the long run.

Thing is pretend as they might, PC is infinitely better than console. No subscription for online, the modding scene, and we have soo many exclusives that consoles just can't have. If you want to play competitive Esports games, you're almost forced to play on PC. And we get all the cool Indie stuff like Lethal Company and others. And for me as a CRPG fan PC is a must. The day Nintendo games can be played on a Steam deck with better hardware, their consoles are dead. @@blackban4689lol Consoles biting the dust wouldn't make PCs more expensive. The competition that exists in the part section will continue to exist. And ,just like it is currently, prebuilts will only be competing against how convenient do you think it is versus building it yourself.
@@saddas1307 I WOULD have tried to elaborate further on the matter, but I feel like you wouldn't understand Edit: I just thought I'd give a little example. If the McDonald's in town has no Wendy's or KFC to compete with, everybody would flock to McD's. And when everyone rushes there, they'll eventually be able to raise the price, knowing that the customers won't have any other alternatives (this was a simple concept we were taught in 10th grade economics). And let's not forget that since most video games are made by studios who made deals with game companies, the lack of hardware to sell them on would just mean it would be better to market it to the platform that DOES support their games. The problem with removing exclusives is that it completely shifts the gaming market, making companies lose money and leading to workers getting laid off (something that everyone loves to complain about but never takes the time to think about)
To be honest.. Switch have like 10 exclusive games.. and 9 out of 10 are just recycled sh1t from old gens so.. Last gen Nintendo console died because third party didnt want to support it.
console sales don’t equal how well a console company is doing, the reason you don’t get a new PS exclusive every month is because they don’t ACTUALLY make that much money. i’m willing to bet that xbox makes twice their profit each month just from game pass and micro transactions. microsoft bought into the multiplayer community because that’s where all the money is. don’t forget they have ties with mojang(Minecraft), EA, Blizzard, Bethesda, Ubisoft AND many more game companies. also don’t forget that sony was the reason we almost didn’t get spiderman in the MCU
Microsoft’s focus isn’t consoles anymore it’s getting their games on every device for example built into tvs, phones, iPads, computers, literally on everything consoles are in the past if they get it available on smart tvs then they are sent just like cloud gaming
Best example of this is that the absolute best selling game on PlayStation is call of duty, slightly under 60% of players on PlayStation buy the yearly release, this actually makes up an absolutely vital amount of revenue for PlayStation, call of duty is an Xbox first party game 😂, Xbox literally makes 70% of all revenue from call of duty sales on PlayStation, just the profits from the PlayStation sales of call of duty and its associated microtransactions alone are enough not only to continuously develop call of duty games but to actually bankroll every single game development from Xbox, they can literally have every single one of their games bomb and it would make no difference because just the PlayStation sales of call of duty are already enough to cover the development cost of all of them. Xbox effectively hijacked the PlayStation infrastructure and install base, and Playstation can't do anything about it because if they get rid of call of duty they get rid of over 50% of their players, this two companies are not playing the same game. Xbox lost the console war, but it won the corporate game. Hell this isn't even going into the fact that Microsoft literally owns the patents for the microchips used to build the PlayStation itself meaning that for literally every single console it builds PlayStation actually has to pay Microsoft, or that the entire online infrastructure of PlayStation runs on a Microsoft System and as such PlayStation literally has to make enormous monthly payments to Microsoft. Sony and Microsoft are not equals, hell Xbox and PlayStation aren't even equals anymore, for Microsoft Xbox is a small subsidiary that has in the last 2 years become fabulously profitable, it's still no more than a fraction of a fraction of the company's revenue, the entire gaming industry would be nothing more than a fraction of just their military contracts alone for example, for Sony PlayStation is at least 90% of their company.

As a former xbox enthusiast, we can't be in denial. Playstation actually has a strong marketing for their consoles. They're just so addicted to advertising that they have ps4 games on ps5 hardware, including the pro. Xbox will probably do the same when series x pro comes out for xbox One games since they abandoned the backward compatibility long ago. Nintendo however doesn't need to have the strongest hardware because they know their units will be sold by anyone who can afford it and despite for lackluster modern AAA game ports as well as a whatever nintendo switch online variety and lots of bloatware in the eshop, guess what? Nintendo dominates. So my point is at this rate xbox should just retire by 2027 since they literally said if gamepass fails, they'll stop the console market. Xbox does well with selling xbox games made for the pc market but the only reason to get an xbox console is either they have better optimized console versions of modern games, you get gamepass day 1, or you have better enhanced older games with quick resume tech, that's it. Not many people buy their games full price, let alone pre-order, because of gamepass, so there is no point to buy an xbox if xbox wants to put gamepass on other platforms, and give their games away. Dont help them. Make all games universal so that everyone can play them and the consoles with less compatibility and poorer software can fall into obscurity and die if they dont step it up.
The fact that you used Spider-man 2 and Tears of the kingdom as examples of exclusivity while both of them can be played on pc is kinda hilarious to me 😂
@johnathanholmes1297 yeah, in that case. Those if you wanna play something like Castlevania Curse of Darkness or Hulk Ultimate Destruction, two PS2 era locked games, you can't anymore by legal means that support the devs. Either you waste cash on a new gaming box and a title for it or you can save some time and money the easy way. Either way, nobody who put in the effort of making the games is getting a nickel.
No confirmation yet, but there are a lot of rumors and some leakers suggesting that it could realease early-mid 2025. Best to be skeptical of them but still hopeful
There’s an important piece of information that is missing here. The consoles themselves aren’t generating profits for the company. The company makes profits when the consumer buys the games and uses the services so it makes sense why Microsoft would like to skip that “initial loss” and go directly to the profits. Of course, they will have to ensure they maintain a healthy balance between supply and demand of the Xbox consoles to make this successful.
Yeah they dont care about console sales, because whether you play on pc or console, they get that sweet game pass members bag. That and they get the good publicity for giving multi platform access to their 'exculsives' like halo and forza horizon etc. Its a win win for the community and the company
One thing you left out. Xbox might be selling less than other consoles but consoles in general are selling less. Consoles are dying, pc gaming has become cheaper and more convenient over the last decade. Xbox isn’t making a mistake with focusing more on pc, they’re ahead of the curve.
Also both Sony and MS admitted that they make a loss on consoles, and get it back from game sales. Why would you keep hanging on to something that only makes you a loss.. if anything peoples buying their console less while MS still keeping the playerbase is good for them economically...

@zmike2024 I agree one you get better quality while being complicated with predatory sales tactics, and the other you get a bit lower quality with more accessibility, better features, and healthy implementation
Honestly he said Nintendo switch has poor hardware and performance I didn’t even notice like honestly I think people say stuff has poor hardware but really the games on the switch look AMAZING not hating btw love this channel and the content
I believe the main reason for this (specifically for new Nintendo games) is because the games are made for the weaker hardware and manage the limitations well while ports of games are often built for different hardware which makes the hardware struggle more which is why they often don’t look as good compared to other hardware.
The only games that look AMAZING are the ones made for the switch with a lower resolution. look at any other modern Triple A game played on the switch and the difference is huge. i understand they have their niche market but they are going to need better reasons for people to want to still buy other switch games.
Microsoft own the most commonly used operating system in history along with multiple pc and laptop lines, and xbox games, game pass and sales over the years, i doubt microsoft is worrying that series x sales dropped a bit when they are one of the most profitable companies on the planet
Xbox knows this, and I know this, and this is why I refuse to purchase a Playstation to play games. Not interested in supporting the toxic corporate practices of making games "console exclusive."
Competition is a good thing in the industry? It drives companies to create better and higher quality products to one-up each other and therefore is overall healthy for the industry.
@@weignerleigner3037because the consoles are still an objectively better piece of hardware for gaming? Much more cost effective, much easier to setup/maintain, and usually much more space efficient. It’s so braindead when people say “why would anyone buy a console without exclusives”
@@JustLikeYou. but every person today basically needs a computer. You can build a gaming computer for 800-1000 dollars that can play modern games. For a few hundred more you can get a personal computer as well as a gaming system that plays every game available to play. Makes far more sense and it will last far longer than a gaming system. Gaming systems have like 8 year runs max your pc could last two system cycles if it’s got a good graphics card. Which you can simply just update as needed. So really you aren’t even saving that much money
@@weignerleigner3037 what exactly do you “need” a computer for? What do you use it for besides gaming? 99% of what the normal person “needs” a PC for you can just use your phone. If you are a normal person who games “casually” it makes all the sense in the world to purchase a console over a PC
Exclusives are moving to PS5, but changes with games pass and Windows 10/11 is blurring the gap between console and PC. Miicrosoft is evolving to the point where consoles won’t be necessary in a generation or so.
Game consoles are also insanely expensive. If want to buy a game they also have a tier system if you want the full game you need to pay 3 times the games price.
1. Exclusivity kills sales. 2. Next gen consoles are sold at a loss to drive game sales, not the other way around. 3. Latest gen consoles failed. Not only xbox. They had nothing new to offer and what they promised is still years away (4K 60FPS, Ray Tracing, etc...). 4. They are still finguring out subscription based revenue.
Most companies lose money on their consoles at this point. Evaluating success based off of console sales is a poor outdated metric. Xbox's gaming infrastructure is absolutely killing it right now with gamepass and they're doing a lot of Pro-Gamer and consumer positive things. PlayStation and Nintendo need to catch up.
PC is Xbox. Owned by the same company. They’re not worried about console sales. They’re worried about actual sales. There’s a reason why they’re one of the most successful companies. That’s what you can’t comprehend. I switched over from Xbox to PC, I still use my Xbox account on PC.
PlayStation also puts their exclusives on PC once the sequel is out. For example Spider-Man 2 came out and they gave PC Spider-Man remastered to get PC gamers hooked on the character , gameplay and story , which then causes PC gamers to want a ps5 to play the sequel
I also think Xbox’s long lifespan helps too. They know how to make a damn well solid and sturdy console, that’s what I love about them. I play Xbox, Switch and PS4/PS5 and Xbox just feels like the Nokia of every system
I feel like it should be pointed out that Microsoft also makes computers and pc parts, so they could be trying to push those. And besides, in the long run, they make more money off of game pass subscriptions than console sales, and with game pass being easily available on pc, with all their exclusives on it, it generates more money. It seems console sales numbers just isn’t their biggest priority.
Dont argue for exclusives, man. I want all the games on the consol I have, and I want you and the next guy over to have all the games on their consols, too. Because Im not a jerk.
Personally I’m glad that Xbox isn’t doing exclusives, it’s nice being able to jump on my Xbox or PC to play games with friends. Gettin the lads together for some OG halo or gears of war we hop on Xbox, playin valorant/valheim/Minecraft on a server with friends I hop on PC.
Even then, Xbox doesn’t have nearly as many console exclusives as Nintendo or PlayStation, Nintendo and Sony have made generations of console exclusives series, Nintendo having Mario, Link, Kirby, Pokemon, etc., and PlayStation having Sly, Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Astro Bot, and so on, meanwhile Xbox just has Halo and Gears of War, and like they said, those even get released on PC , honestly, I feel part of the problem is that they don’t use the stuff they buy, biggest example being Rare
Main reason is not exclusives , main reason is that it's not cost efficient to change consoles, if i wanted to move from xbox one is ps5, my 2 year gamepass ultimate would go to waste, my achievements would not move, my friends are also mostly on xbox that i have made through many years of playing, this is the main reason especially for adults and older who primarily play because its fun if they do it with their friends, for me it's been a while that I don't enjoy playing single player. All of these combined are the reason why we don't change consoles, I couldn't care less about exclusives. Not interested in any of the ps5 or xbox series X exclusives the only thing that interests me are gran turismo and forza motorsport which evens each other out
There's no way X-Box doesn't realizes this stratergy so are they just being nice to us PC gamers? If so I am grateful.
why not, most PCs are running on windows, so it makes sense for Microsoft to consider PC their platform even despite the fact that most games are sold on steam
Yes. It's a part of a promise Microsoft made to no longer have exclusive and prompted Sony to do the same. Hasn't worked sadly 😢
This.
not everyone in the gaming community is asking for exclusives to stop.
Exclusives are a scummy, abusive business practice intended to hold things hostage behind additional purchases.
Console sales aren’t everything. The amount of Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions for xbox and pc could keep microsoft fueled for ages

Gamepass isn't sustainable
@@Arthur76180Phil Spencer has repeatedly stated that the Xbox game pass is profitable. Granted, he’s the CEO of Microsoft so it would be in his best interest to say it is profitable but lying in front of investors is basically a big NO.
“According to that data, revenue generated through Xbox Game Pass was $2.9bn in the fiscal period ending January 2021.”
“Compared with Microsoft's total yearly Xbox revenue ($16.28bn), Game Pass made up roughly 18 percent. It was also nearly 30 percent of its games and services revenue ($12.581) for the same period.”
-Ed Nightingale Deputy News Editor | Eurogamer
Currently, the Xbox game pass is quite profitable from a revenue standpoint.

Console sales don't matter that much anymore. Usually they even make Loss on Console sales. The important Thing is to sell your Games, ideally through your shop because there you have the most control over the prices
I support companies that aren't user-hostile. Exclusive titles are user-hostile
All companies are user-hostile then. You forget Microsoft is buying big name developers to keep them from Sony/Nintendo? That's the same thing.
@@arroncunningham9866 Not really. What M$ did was buy the companies to keep the games from being Sony exclusives, sure, but the results are more broad than that. M$ is moving away from exclusives and sharing with Sony and other platforms. It's crazy that M$ is seemingly the good actor in this scenario, but here we are.
@@JT.PlaysGames Sorry, but what Microsoft did was continue to push for a de-facto monopoly on video games. They didn't buy Bethesda or Activision to "keep games from being Sony exclusives", they bought them to starve Playstation and/or Nintendo from high-selling titles. They are doing something MUCH worse then "exclusives", they are attempting to force control over the entire industry. The end-goal is to either be the ONLY console (they already own the majority of PC game market), or at least being capable of ordering Sony/Nintendo to do what they want or be ruined. They are absolutely NOT the "good actor" in this scenario.
@@arroncunningham9866
Hard to be the only console, when your own console isn't incredible in sales. Xbox is trying to expand its platform. PlayStation keeps games from Xbox and for years paid third party teams from releasing games to Xbox for years. PlayStation is dying in truth, look at Godfall which was supposed to be a destiny level game that flopped on PlayStation till Xbox got it. And genshin impact now jumping through the roof in players now being on Xbox.
For so many years Xbox has always been seen as "trash" with no exclusives, and terrible hardware. So Xbox is switching the game on the market. It's not illegal nor malicious. It's a different strategy. That's why PlayStation is falling over because they can't afford to keep up. When Xbox fought "fair" no one cared for them except the OGs. Now they play their way and so PlayStation and their fans are complaining and trying to make Xbox the villain.
@@arroncunningham9866 What you are describing isn't going in that exact direction. M$ is moving towards putting their exclusives on other platforms, as well as making all of their games playable almost everywhere. It's a power move for sure, but probably won't make much of a dent in devout PlayStation and Nintendo fans.
If M$ wants to take over all of gaming, including PC, they'll have to make it far more appealing than Steam.

You don’t know what anti-consumer means.
I can't believe how self entitled people have become. If Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft pay the money to have a game developed why should they have to share the profits? That makes absolutely 0 sense, console exclusives exist to sell consoles, consoles exist to make money that's how that works. Would you sink resources and time into developing something or creating a product just to give it to other people to profit off of? If you would you are either stupid or have absolutely no grip on business whatsoever.
boo hoo.
Also Nintendo and PS are immediate givens in Japan, almost 100% market. Having an entire country in your pocket is big
Nah, if I was a PC owner I'd just wait for the year
Console sales might be down, but Xbox company as a whole is winning
Not really, that’s why they are porting games to other platforms. There sales are shit and they have to make money somehow so there porting games to more popular platforms. Eventually the Xbox platform may just die because what’s the point if you can play both Xbox and PlayStation games on the PlayStation or pc.
@@ghosts2169 Microsoft is being smart, they have the PC market cornered, they don't own steam or epic games but they own the most common operating system, putting their games on PC is a net win for them unlike Sony which doesn't have the same market coverage for PC. We should be pushing for more multiplatform games not exclusives.
PS5 Pro bouta make history though for least units sold and and least games made for it
I started a war
will still sell more than xbox
It's pointless to keep fighting a losing battle.

There’s an important piece of information that is missing here. The consoles themselves aren’t generating profits for the company. They do have exclusives... for a few years at least. Then they give everything to Microsoft.
This makes sad. The X-box one was my first console and Is the reason I love video games. I love it to this day.
Yeah and I ain't giving it up anytime soon
Exclusives are moving to PS5, but changes with games pass and Windows 10/11 is blurring the gap between console and PC. Miicrosoft is evolving to the point where consoles won’t be necessary in a generation or so.
Until these company untie themselves from the previous gen consoles and consoles like the series s, gaming will continue to be held back
Game consoles are also insanely expensive.
Pretty much. I considered getting the S model for portability, but it felt a bit pointless when I have a PC and PS5
Except for the fact that waiting those months won’t change the fact the game don’t work…
PC is Xbox. Owned by the same company. They’re not worried about console sales. They’re worried about actual sales. There’s a reason why they’re one of the most successful companies. That’s what you can’t comprehend. I switched over from Xbox to PC, I still use my Xbox account on PC.
that's why we love xbox so much, they're rlly nice with players
PlayStation also puts their exclusives on PC once the sequel is out. For example Spider-Man 2 came out and they gave PC Spider-Man remastered to get PC gamers hooked on the character , gameplay and story , which then causes PC gamers to want a ps5 to play the sequel
I also think Xbox’s long lifespan helps too. They know how to make a damn well solid and sturdy console, that’s what I love about them. I play Xbox, Switch and PS4/PS5 and Xbox just feels like the Nokia of every system
Microsoft could make minecraft, spyro, and crash bandicoot xbox exclusives at any second, but they choose not to
I feel like it should be pointed out that Microsoft also makes computers and pc parts, so they could be trying to push those. And besides, in the long run, they make more money off of game pass subscriptions than console sales, and with game pass being easily available on pc, with all their exclusives on it, it generates more money. It seems console sales numbers just isn’t their biggest priority.
Well, Xbox isn't trying to do consoles as much as games nowadays.
Dont argue for exclusives, man. I want all the games on the consol I have, and I want you and the next guy over to have all the games on their consols, too. Because Im not a jerk.
I'd still be happy to wait a year to avoid buying a console. I don't hate consoles, i grew up with them. I just wanna have all my games on one system.
It’s not the 90s anymore , revenue streams are totally different.
Damn, Sony kinda missed this window by around 100 months on bloodborne😅, hope they fix that so it doesn’t go up too much
Also you can play all xbox one and present games on Xbox one
Not interested in any of the ps5 or xbox series X exclusives the only thing that interests me are gran turismo and forza motorsport which evens each other out
Orrrrr, we as consumers, could stop buying consoles just for exclusives and stop exclusives altogether.
If they may playing online completely free without the strings of buying game pass, they would skyrocket
