Letting the Director of Football choose the players DOES WORK if he's allowed to CHOOSE the MANAGER! It works perfectly at a NORMAL club like Brighton but we are NOT a NORMAL CLUB are we
Regards the boycott, your right about the excuses the club will use, problem is a lot of fans feel strongly about how our clubs being run. The board are the issue here, personally I feel that everyone getting up and walking out in unison during the match would have more affect.. agree a time to go , and everyone that wants too get up and leave, TV would love that…The chairman needs to recognise that people are not happy. I for one didn’t pay £2500 for two season tickets to be served up this shite that we are getting now, it’s awful and change is needed ⚒️ Best wishes to Michail Antonio, hope he makes a full recovery ❤
What’s upset me Geo, is that the board felt it was “morally” right to give J Lo the wolves game. Yet, they weren’t thinking about fucking morals when they took out the concessions. Our board are hypocrites, I do don’t trust them one bit. If I was a manager, I wouldn’t work for this lot.
Firstly, all the very best of wishes to Michail and his family. Get well very soon. Secondly, are we jumping out of the frying pan into the Potter? Why are we looking at these inappropriate managers, even for the short term? Get the right person in now. The only reason not to, is unless they have the right manager waiting in the wings, but he is tied to another club and cannot come until the Summer, therefore we are ONLY looking for an interim until then.
Listened to Nicky Butts comments on Potter. He’s a very good tactician, coach gets the best out of players and improves players including the youngsters. He might be boring but I don’t care, he’ll bring stability and structure to the club which is what we need.
Here's a thought. Ditch the suicidal high defensive line and I think we would have conceded far fewer goals this season (just my guess). Even so, we look like 11 players rather than a team. I'd take Potter over Loppy, but I think that's just a sticking plaster. Sully needs to finally grow a pair and look beyond the dole queue.
How a so called professional manager can play a high line defence with players that have no pace is criminal. Van Nistleroy out thought our manager, playing on the last man knowing they would be in with the pass through. School boy defending. targeting Coufal on a yellow but with zero pace. Every manager this season has looked at all of our weaknesses and exploited them.
Good show guys and great observations about us not really knowing (despite what all these anonymous ITK's pedal) how things work behind the scenes, we can only speculate based by the mess we get to see on the pitch. IMO the boycott idea is born (understandably) out of frustration with years of Sullivan and Brady gradually grinding down the fan base and Lopetegui is just the catalyst (and rightly so). I agree that it will have minimal financial impact and they can use the arguments you gave for any empty seats, they can also use their media mates to spin it as fickle West Ham fans. Maybe a better approach would be to walk out at a pre determined time at a higher profile televised game like Liverpool did when they protested about ticket prices because TV did pick up on that even though it wasn't a mass walk out. Unfortunately it is increasingly difficult to rally everyone behind things like this. I wish I could suggest a way that would get Sullivan out but in this world of media influence and dilution of the fan base I really struggle to see a solution other than the waiting game. I don't attend many games these days because of cost, travel hassle and crap football. I was going to the Wolves game until Sky moved it and made the boycott decision for me! Like you guys, I respect the right of fans to make their own decisions and the TV parasites who criticise fans for leaving early never mention the fact that you have to queue for the train for as long as the match takes! I would never boo the team or individuals but respect the right of those who do. When Allardyce was boo'd in the famous 'ear cupping' incident despite us beating Hull it showed how the style of play is as important as the result to many fans and I completely respect that. Sorry for the long rant! COYI ⚒
Sullivan knows if he sacks him he will have admitted he got lopetegui totally wrong and as you say him being a narcissist will really hurt his pride , knowing the fans were right all along
On top of too many chiefs, I think you both inferred another excellent point - in terms of making decisions I get the feeling that the club isn't many of the board members primary concern - the complete opposite to the fanbase who do genuinely care. So we will remain in this cycle of mess behind the scenes after this has been resolved. Steidten is an employee unlike the others.
16:38 yes they had the high xg but isn’t that what we want for our players, to have that amount of chances? I think our current team has better finishers and goal-scorers then Brighton too under potter. Just trying to think about the positives of getting potter over lopi.

Finding someone who can work in our setup is not easy, which each passing week my admiration for Moyes grows. There is always the possibility of new owners but that is a totally different conversation.
Potter will at least try to implement some possession based football. 3-4-3 with wing backs isn't us though is it?! And he's one whose been shown to need time. Plus the Chelsea players apparently turned on him, so I can see ours doing the same. I'd surprised if JLo ever gets another job after this. Perhaps in Saudi.

It’s all disjointed because we have a disjointed boardroom. It’s starts from the top. We need professional business people there who back fully the people they employ. Boycott until we get these fools to put the club up for sale. 14 years is too long with these idiots.
I like potter started at the bottom and worked his way up made Swansea a decent team which made Brighton pick him up and they out played us every game he even got a tune out of glen Murray and continually had to sell his top players but seamlessly integrated new ones and season by season getting further up the league, Chelsea was a poisoned Chalice where bohley chucked 49 players at him and expected miracles
We need someone who will encourage our top players to stay. If they think he's a nobody, they'll give up on the club and move on. I don't think any top player aspires to play for Potter.
Geo says the sporting director, be he whoever, is in a "powerful" position at West Ham. I disagree. He is in a senior position but, it seems, not a powerful one. That's the problem. There is only one powerful position at West Ham. David Sullivan has it and he's not giving it up any time soon!

West Ham United - the very definition of the old phrase: The left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. How much U wanna bet that that with Potter as the favourite, Sullivan now tries to double down on that appointment and try to get Dan Ashworth in following his sacking at Manure?????? That would see Tim out on his ear.
The problem is perfectly obvious, and backed by past evidence, Sullivan has made the manager decisions, he is not being influenced by the others, and he has not made good decisions. He was lucky with Moyes, purely employed to keep West Ham in the Premier League. While this continues, there is little hope for West Ham moving up the league to European positions. In the Moyes era, if we dig deeper, we would find we moved up the league, by virtue of other team results favouring us. Meanwhile Potter will bring limited excitement to fans, and be more Moyes bore.
We don't have a great deal of money to get in decent players to suit the new coach's footballing philosophy in the next transfer windows. It's, therefore, important to appoint a coach to suit the players we already have. The question is, is Potter that person? I'm not sure. Is he a good tactician such as say Allegri for example? I'm no expert and I feel Potter is too much of an unknown quantity for me. I don't think we can judge him on Brighton or Chelsea. There are too many variables involved in that judgment. It's impossible to know how he will fit in as a West Ham coach. We can only hope he will be better than Lopetigui.
Liverpool do their recruitment by commity and seem to be quite successful at it? I'm not against Potter and definitely would of given him a crack before Loppy. If he was offered a six month deal and refused it then Potter should already know who and what he's dealing with regarding out non management set up. Good luck Graham if you do decide to rebuild your career at our circus.
Just wondered Geo if you've watched the upfront podcast with Eddie Howe and his comments about recruitment towards the end of the vid, saying he thinks important that the board, sporting director and the coach all have an input together. For me, obviously it's a shit show for us. Is it the dynamics between the management? It's obviously Sullivan again imo. And this is another example of his running of the club
Beg to differ. Monday night makes a huge difference. A win keeps him at the club for at least another 3 games. 3 games further down the line and stagnating, unhappy players who will look for a move away whilst Loppy stays and stinks the place out. How can you say it doesn't make a difference? We lose .. he goes, we reset ASAP.
Lack of conviction and no future direction I really thought the trophy win was a turning point for future success at the club, if my customer base are happy then it makes my business run smoother surely running the club in a positive way makes the fanbase happy and happy club happy players feel good factor makes the club so more attractive to future signings whether it be players or staff ⚒️
I actually side with Sully on this (if it’s true) Think most have reservations on Potter, he has also been happy to collect higher wages and stay out of football than take a job and have the chelsea payments stop if that is true. His stock is getting lower daily and a six month deal seems fair to me, with a say get top 10 and automatically get a 2yr extension or top 12 for 1 yr etc. If he believes in himself than its no problem, he only losses out if he fails, i think he’s got used to payments for fuck all. I would take a chance on him but think he’s personality is an issue, or lack of one. I’d rather a young progressive from Tim but if we can’t get one than im ok with the wizard, but only on a short term incentivised deal.
But you don't have everyone pulling together in the same direction. Clearly doesn't happen. How can you? How can you go from Amorim to Loppy? Opposite ends of the scale. Completely different types of coach. Thing to remember, this isn't a publicly owned company so we the fans have no say in who is on the Board or the power they have.
Fkn ell, it goes from bad to worse. Potter couldn't manage a team of so called superstars at Chelsea, what makes them think he can turn West Ham into Brighton?
Chelsea was a complete basket case when Potter went there, after the season started ,with an out of control owner resulting in a massive change of players, 10 first team players had left in the summer , and the new owners went out buying anyone they could on their whim .Pochetinos record there wasn't much better than Potters. Potter at Brighton showed himself to be able to be a coach and work in a structure like West Ham now have with Steidten. Also he'd make a change from the domineering personalities and inflexible micromanaging of Moyes and Loppy , which the players may appreciate
Again there’s always a question mark over managers going from a lesser, smaller club to a bigger one. We’ve all seen it. Hodgson done very well at Fulham went to Liverpool and went wrong. Silva done great at Watford went to Everton and same but now doing great at Fulham. Howe great at Bournemouth went to big expectation club Newcastle and doing well with some average players. Potter the same, Brighton to Chelsea didn’t work can’t be sure if he could cope at a big club with the same demands as ours.
@@kevingoodman3725 good points , but West Ham aren't that much bigger than Brighton. Look at their income (about £230m million v £200m in 22/23) , and both are less than half of Chelsea , which is up around £500m
If it’s true that Sullivan can be out voted why hasn’t this happened as it’s VERY clear to everyone how bad our new manager is. Even if Sullivan wanted to keep Loppy the other members on the board would have said No.
Potter without a clue when without a system already in place? Potter the ultimate Yes-man to someone like Sully. God, no. Would be one of the worst possible appointments that we can make.
With Sullivan there is no strategic planning. His managerial appointments have always been a reaction to a situation. And since day 1 it’s been a repeating cycle of Foreign Manager > British Manager > ……… In his simplistic footballing mind, it’s as if he sees the foreign appointment as ‘daring’ and the British appointment ‘safety’ but he’s stuck within two minds as to what he wants…… hence the endless repetition of switching. This is why I think he’ll go British again. Because, history tells us.
What a brilliant analysis; wish we had you two on the Board! I’m not looking forward to Monday; expecting a high scoring draw and no conclusion to the Lopetegui mess we’re in.
I just don’t believe there would be calls for a protest if we were 6th with Lopetegui in charge. There wasn’t any calls for one pre Lopetegui which points to it being about the lack of sacking Lopetegui. Just not for me this one but as said, each to their own, just wish there was this uproar about the removal of concessionary tickets
Potter is just the English Lopetegui who was the Spanish Moyes. Whats the point? Season is over. I genuinely despair that people at the club think Potter is the answer.
@@ScottjohnMcCarthy Do they all play boring football? YES. Then as far as I'm concerned it's more of the same. I dont really care which flavour of boring football it is, if it's boring I dont want it.
Sorry have to disagree....english,brings youth thru, plays attacking football.....in all honesty who are we gonna get that will do any better, plenty of names but we all know the dwarf wont go get them and there lies the problem😢
Not a fan of Potter. I think he got lucky at Brighton due to how well the club is run as they've improved a lot since he left them. He was a disaster at Chelsea as well. Definitely not for me.

We do not want Potter!
I feel we are gonna go out and win against wolves for Mickey but it’s gonna look good on Loppy…
I wanted Pottter in the summer, so I hope this happens!
So we are now after Potter who Sullivan doesn’t think is any good unless he has a sound infrastructure around him, which is the last thing we’ve got
Wolves fans would take lopitegu back tomorrow and send Gon over to the hammers
Not that one, I’ve watched a couple with Howe and enjoyed them so will have a gander
@HammersChat nice one mate 👍
Get well soon micky coyi
Happily take Potter. Most of the criticism he gets isn't justified.
Let's go out Monday night and play for Antonio god bless him come on LADS c.o.y.i
Lack of conviction and no future direction I really thought the trophy win was a turning point for future success at the club, if my customer base are happy then it makes my business run smoother surely running the club in a positive way makes the fanbase happy and happy club happy players feel good factor makes the club so more attractive to future signings whether it be players or staff ⚒️
It seems the prize for losing tomorrow's game is Graham Potter as the next manager. COYI!!!
Why is Sullivan such a stingy spiv? He is a billionaire and needs to spend proper money on a manager.
Emery couldn't manage "so called" superstars at Arsenal but thrived at Villareal and Villa. Your logic is flawed and uneducated.
Have you seen his history with his first club as a manager? If we get Potter that would be a massive upgrade from Lopetegui.
I had a lump in my throat when Frankie gave his little monologue. Frankie ya legend.
Potter without a clue when without a system already in place? Potter the ultimate Yes-man to someone like Sully. God, no.
Would be one of the worst possible appointments that we can make.
Yeah Carrick or Potter for me. At least youth players could be given a chance!
Wat happened to Antonio??
Was in a car crash, only he was involved, but is now stable in hospital.
With Sullivan there is no strategic planning.
His managerial appointments have always been a reaction to a situation.
And since day 1 it’s been a repeating cycle of Foreign Manager > British Manager > ………
In his simplistic footballing mind, it’s as if he sees the foreign appointment as ‘daring’ and the British appointment ‘safety’ but he’s stuck within two minds as to what he wants…… hence the endless repetition of switching.
This is why I think he’ll go British again.
Because, history tells us.
What a brilliant analysis; wish we had you two on the Board! I’m not looking forward to Monday; expecting a high scoring draw and no conclusion to the Lopetegui mess we’re in.
Thank you Steve, very kind as always
Supporters not tuning up will matter to Sullivan as it will look bad on tv
Who decides potter
Potter for me
No leadership
The protest and boycott is about Sullivan
I just don’t believe there would be calls for a protest if we were 6th with Lopetegui in charge. There wasn’t any calls for one pre Lopetegui which points to it being about the lack of sacking Lopetegui.
Just not for me this one but as said, each to their own, just wish there was this uproar about the removal of concessionary tickets
Duran scored again yesterday
Let it go mate. Even if we did sign him he wouldn't have got the chances.
Potter is just the English Lopetegui who was the Spanish Moyes. Whats the point? Season is over. I genuinely despair that people at the club think Potter is the answer.
You clearly have never watched a Potter team then. Nothing like Lopetegui or Moyes 😂
@@DC-uf6veA flexible, attacking and possession based style of play. Yeah proper boring that 👍🏻
Go get yourself some ball knowledge before you embarrass yourself with comments like this
No leadership at any level.
❤9❤
Thinking about Michail Antonio and his family 🙏
Not a fan of Potter. I think he got lucky at Brighton due to how well the club is run as they've improved a lot since he left them. He was a disaster at Chelsea as well. Definitely not for me.
