    Nice finds there - thanks GPD! Glad you and your little 'helper' had fun collecting! :o)

    One of the best rockhounding videos I have seen. You explained the mineralization process, showed and explained your digging techniques, were patient and helpful to your charming daughter. But most of all, you shared the location of the collecting spot. No one seems to do that any longer. Everyone wants to be selfish and not share; like if they do ALL of the rocks will suddenly disappear. Glad to have found you.

      I am glad you enjoyed my video! I am the kind to share my knowledge. It doesn't help anyone to be selfish. Hope you find the good stuff when you go out!

      @@GoldPanDann Thanks Dann. My collecting days are over due to age and health. Besides, if I put just one more pebble on this property, it would sink deeply into the earth. Now I can live vicariously through all of you.

    I just went up to this area and was just going to ask you how not to get shot up there... I love the area but there was so much shooting in all kinds of different locations, I was a little scared... Thank you for your feedback!

    • @GoldPanDann
      @GoldPanDann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it's a local "shooting range" as you go up. You just have to cross your fingers and hope you don't get a ricochet as you travel to the site. The site itself was nice and quiet when I was there though. Hope you found some good pieces!

      Thank you, Dan... I found a couple of pieces is all but I'm going back... I just was wondering why the whole area is a shooting range... I called the police and they told me to just be cautious... Any clues as to where and how I should dig the limonite out?

      @@ShellyRock60if you made it to the pits on my video, it's all just luck really. There isn't a vein of pyrite or anything. It's scattered throughout. Just pick a spot and chip away!
      As for shooting range, it's an easy place out of town that won't cause any ricochet or stray bullets to go into a neighborhood.

    Nice finds. I had no idea those were out there. I’ve heard that they’re trying to chemically treat pelican point to fight off the algae.

      I think that's just down in the bay to "clean up" the shores. But yeah there are quite a few things out in those mountains!

    Look up goethite. Another psudomorph to pyrite.

      That's some awesome stuff! There is a variation of that with a peacock coloring! Turgite! I found someone selling a claim for it out by Minersville, UT.

    Kids in videos always ruin them. Is this a home video or is this info/entertainment on rockhounding?

    • @GoldPanDann
      @GoldPanDann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In fact it is showing that kids can enjoy doing this hobby as well. It isn't just adults. Thank you for watching! I'm sorry you feel that a family hobby is a bad thing.

      @@GoldPanDann I see youre letting your defensiveness cause you to not actually read my message.
      I didnt say "having a family hobby is a bad thing" and I didnt say "kids cant enjoy rockhounding." Stay on subject please. Im talking about the quality of the TH-cam video. Who is your audience, yourself and family members who know and love that girl? Or strangers who love rockhounding? Your child interrupts you while you explain things interesting to us. She brings you uninteresting rocks. Shes no more or less cute than any of the other millions of children walking around. It brings the quality of your video down IF your audience is rockhounds. If your audience is yourself and your family, it brings the quality up. Just got to make a choice: are you making home videos for your own memory? Or are you making informational videos for rockhounding enthusiasts?
