Back when i was a kid, i had a feeling that Molly knew he was attracted to her but avoided everytime he tried something, like in the episode where he tells her he likes her and she pretends to be sleeping until he shuts his mouth and tries to sleep. Then she opens her eyes like "duh". The only time she blushed was when she ended up in his arms, so that's not relevant (embarassment proves nothing). By the end of the serie she calls him a "good friend" and that's it. She never looked at him in a romantic way, not once. As i grew up, i'm 100% sure my theory is accurate. After all, she only has eyes for his Majesty, long-ears-samourai-insect-rider-prince-Aikka.
Now I really enjoy this show, though there are five things that should be addressed t the writers; 1; the Arrow 3 can SUPER- BOOST with four extra engines, meaning that it can get away from those plasma missiles! Why aren't they used AT ALL??? 2; Why didn't the tech crew not think to give a more stable seat for Eva or Jordan for said boosting?! 3; Where did the powerful ammunition from episode 8 go to?! 4; Where's the logic for Rick leaving the show?! He had an interesting plot thread, which thus far was forgotten by 'amnesia' when he 'learned about it' and indirectly passed to Eva, and he only Coached Eva for a few days; having both these threads 'ended' before this, the grand finals for a tournament where the reward is granting one wish with the powers of space god, would only mean that his involvement would be needed more, as Molly isn't god-tier skilled and still has lots to learn, on a planet more heavily diverse in landscape and rules than the last!!! 5; How can Jordan be so heavily incompetent at fighting...? Especially when every enemy fought in CQC so far is either alien midgets with non-threatening weaponry and monologuing succubae, and both threats aren't seen as intimidating because of skill, rather it's because Jordan apparently doesn't know how to kick, block, or surprise opponents without being an archetypal 'gallant/ prideful warrior' to everyone who attempts to befriend or kill Eva; the latter motivation understandable, though the former completely annoying since Jordan and Eva are mostly at odds in terms of personality, and haven't outside this episode showed any strong love chemistry; the only relationship point being that they're good teammates, making his character a relatively awkward one at best in his interactions. Again, this show is good as a standard racing non-anime, though I only bring up these plot holes to help aspiring animation writers who maybe watching this.
1. You try speeding in a car through a forest. 2. It would have been way down their priorities list. Maintenance and repairs of the Arrow 3 and associated analysis equipment would have taken up the time they had. In addition changing the seat may have negatively affected the pilot more than the original seat. 3. May have been a different angle showing the streak each bullet was making, not a beam weapon. 4. Rick stated he had taught everything he knew to eva. He felt he wasn't needed, wasn't interested in Oban and was retiring (injury). 5. Ever occur to you that we're a lot weaker than every other alien. The succubae can make long nails capable of shredding armour plating. How is that not intimidating. The midgets are holding swords and there are a lot of them. In a fight should they manage to close with a tall opponent they have the advantage.
So, no one is going to comment that Aikka _technically_ took Molly on a date this episode and Jordan decides to become a third wheel on said date last minute?

I've seen the ending! it was *still* very sad! Jordan finally confessed, but in the end, became the new avatar in Molly/Eva's place!
