Aww 🥰 Great memories here for me. When we 1st started going to Joe T’s in the 70’s, you entered thru the side door, walked through the kitchen and always ALWAYS greeted the ladies cooking with love and respect 🥰Then you were seated usually in the living room. Meals were served family style. Rice and frijoles refritos were served in large bowls and the enchiladas and tacos 🌮 were brought to you separately. Muey bueno!! I still buy Joe T’s salsa from the store ♥️♥️👍👍 In case you don’t know, they started the restaurant in their home 🥰
I'm 62 years old. Born and raised on the Northside of Ft.Worth. Graduated North Side High in 1980. Have been to Joe T's 2 or 3 times. Much better food in the area. Great Patio though
I live in Fort Worth and my sister lives in Arlington. Whenever family come to visit from other states, we go to Joe T's. It is delicious. I usually get the enchiladas while the rest of the family gets the chicken fajitas. I also get to eat some fajitas because of the large portions. A definite winner.
@TheTexasBucketList Great Episode, next time you're in town head to Jesus BBQ. You'll love their cheese enchiladas and history. Small hole in the wall that packs a punch and has a great menu with tons of options. Thanks for showcasing what we all love about Texas!!
I’m a Dallas boy, my family is from Fort Worth, to know Joe T’s is to love it. Their family have treated my family lovely for decades. You don’t often find that anywhere, let alone establishments who’ve been around that long. The menu is simple, and my order is ALWAYS the Enchilada dinner. God Bless Joe T’s for many decades to come!
Like almost every place else some love it, others not so much. There are dozens of other TexMex spots with better food. The margaritas are pretty good. The patio is beautiful.
Back in the day, when I was student teaching in Ft. Worth, my roommate was student teaching at Arlington Heights, where some of the Garcia’s went to school and it was family style service at the restaurant. We got discounts for being student teachers.
I prefer chili sauce to red sauce on my enchiladas. I believe that red sauce should only be used to mix with tamale filling. One thing that is awesome is the amount of cheese they use. That is usually my complaint at a Mexican restaurant - not enough cheese.
My favorite thing about Joe T's is that there are only a handful of items on the menu, and there is a high chance that you will get at least one incorrect item.
I had heard that the Lancarte family was selling out because they were ready to retire, and Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) was exploring buying it. Did I hear wrong? I have been eating at the Ft Worth location for a long, long time, and also at the Addison location (now gone) when David L. was running it .
The only draw is the ambience of the garden fountain area. If you are going for authentic Tex-Mex with flavor, there are so many other places to go. Sad to say that, but with only two selections (enchiladas or fajitas), you'd think they'd get one right. Each should be over the top! If this style of food can't get good enchiladas right, odds are the second option isn't any better. Both are mediocre at best.
Am I the only one that finds it crazy that in a video about a Mexican restaurant, the whole clientele are not Mexican. But it’s extremely common for a place with no flavor except for the margaritas
So I guess if you don't like enchiladas this is not the place for you lol I went here ince and they said you can only get this or that I was kine I thought I cane to a restaurant not my mom's house lol ...
I've lived in Fort Worth my whole life and don't understand why people are so obsessed with this place... the food sucks, only thing that's good is the drinks! Save your money! There's waaaay better Mexican food in Ft Worth! 😂
If you're a local in Ft Worth you already know this place sucks.. Did you notice the lack of food in this video? That's because you get what he got or fajitas, that's it.. Notice how bad the food looked in this video too? The margaritas are terrible and they only accept cash. $40 per person please
Been to Joe T’s. 1/5 stars. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Respectfully, the FOOD and what they call SERVICE is outright HORRIBLE. Overpriced. Watered down soupy queso, overcooked chicken/meat. Greasy. Cheap cheese. Sadly, Walmart Mexican FROZEN food may be considered better by many. Indoor seating area is loud. Patio area (The GIMMICK) a pool converted to a fountain (It is pretty). Can’t sit comfortably in 90 degree + outdoor weather. Bring Cash. ATM on site. 20% Gratuity added to bill regardless. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
The ambiance was excellent, the fajitas, well they were underwhelming. Go to a Taqueria instead. We paid our bill and all I could keep singing was W**** People Taco Night.
One of the most overrated restaurants and most importantly one of the worst food was just awful to say the least and that’s saying it nicely the taco meat was sour tasting the rest wasn’t even eatable 🤮🤮🤮seriously not even playing

Another great episode with awesome food and a nice restaurant.🇺🇲🤠🇺🇲

Food is great. So is the ambience
love the video brother keep them coming
Oh my! It's been SO long since I've been to Joe T's. It was just the house back then. Hope to go back next time we are in the DFW area
I've actually eaten there and it was fantastic. I wanted to go another time, but had forgotten the name. Thanks for reminding me.
Nobody who lives in Ft. Worth and knows Tex-mex thinks much of Joe T's. Great ambiance and a decent margarita that's it.
Speak for yourself
@brianbartley6723 So long as you speak truth like this, feel free to speak for me, too! :D

Ft Worth native here, Nice outdoor patiom margaritas good, but food is severely overrate and very expensive.
The food looks delicious, and prepared with love ❤️ underrated, have a great meal.
I like Texas bucket list videos on TH-cam from the imperial county California 👍🇺🇲
Cool 😎 We used to own a hotel in Brawley, CA and hired several bands for the bar, out of El Centro 😊
My family is from Yuma. Spent mucho tiempo in Imperial County.

Thanks Shane. Now Im craving tex mex food. 🤣
Great patio and margaritas
Joe Ts= Great ambience....Esperanzas: great food!
New truck? Nice!
We love our 2023 Toyota Sequioa! Fantastic vehicle!
Is it part of the engine recall?
Saw this place on the Daytripper show with Chet Garner
I would be there every day if I could but I’m too far away 😢

Joe T’s isn’t worth the hassle standing out in the hot sun waiting to get in. It’s fine just not worth that.
My favorite thing about Joe T's is that there are only a handful of items on the menu, and there is a high chance that you will get at least one incorrect item.

Joe T's in cow town is the best in the T- Mex in the lower contiguous 48! Salsa is kiiller diller and worth buying and shipping!
One of my favorite places in Ft. Worth! Their fajitas are great too! Love their salsa, queso and they have some of the best Margaritas.
❤️👍
Their margaritas are better than the food
The most beautiful Tex-Mex restaurant too bad the food isn't that good. It was on my bucket list & was highly disappointed.

Place is super Expensive.
I've been there a couple of times and sitting around the pool outside is really neat, but I wasn't that impressed with the food.
Not known for the food. You go for the atmosphere. The food is okay at best.
Beautiful atmosphere, terrific margaritas….food? Meh, not so much. Not worth standing in line for.
Am I the only one that finds it crazy that in a video about a Mexican restaurant, the whole clientele are not Mexican. But it’s extremely common for a place with no flavor except for the margaritas
Lisa chicken Buddy Fort Worth
Worst example of Tex-Mex food. Who told yall this was good?
2 blocks from where i work🌮
the salsa guy?
So I guess if you don't like enchiladas this is not the place for you lol I went here ince and they said you can only get this or that I was kine I thought I cane to a restaurant not my mom's house lol
...
You gotta feature Rostias Al Pastor, Ciscos, and Joes Bakery in Austin TX or do you hate Austin cause youre an Aggie fan? 😃😃 jk
JTG's is the okay place to take tourists / visiting relatives. Kinda meh besides the ambiance.
💯
So where do you recommend for Tex mex?
@@CaideJordan I'm partial to Meso Meya, but I want to go try Jesus BBQ...
Totally agree
Yep and even then there’s so much better things to do in Fort Worth. Food is blah, I’d rather have Taco Bell.
I've lived in Fort Worth my whole life and don't understand why people are so obsessed with this place... the food sucks, only thing that's good is the drinks! Save your money! There's waaaay better Mexican food in Ft Worth! 😂
Where do you recommend?
Fk the north side.
East side taco spots are taking over!

Food is average at best. The atmosphere on the patio is nice though.
Joe T but doesn’t mention Garcia which is literally in the restaurants name 🤣🤡
Overrated in my opinion i think Esperanza is better
I lived in Fort Worth for 25 years. This place is overrated. NOT a good value for money.
Been to Joe T’s. 1/5 stars. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Respectfully, the FOOD and what they call SERVICE is outright HORRIBLE. Overpriced. Watered down soupy queso, overcooked chicken/meat. Greasy. This place is kinda trash

Visited there one time and by far this place is not good at all and was cash only to top it of, your better off going to Rio Mambo.
It’s not that good of food. There are way better places to go.
This place is a joke. I cannot believe so many rave about it.
Overrated
Dude went to the the worst and most overrated Mexican restaurant in Texas 💀
One of the most overrated restaurants and most importantly one of the worst food was just awful to say the least and that’s saying it nicely the taco meat was sour tasting the rest wasn’t even eatable 🤮🤮🤮seriously not even playing
Over rated and a tourist trap
Most overrated Mexican food in Fort Worth. Everything on the menu tastes like everything else on the menu.
One of the worst places to eat in Fort Worth. It’s not even Tex mex.
Food is complete trash!!!
Not a fan
This place sucks
