In one word, " Bowie" . We were fortunate to have lived when he was around.
Oh...OK - but honestly, in 2 words: SCOTT WALKER, and 2 other words: Peter Hammil. The ONLY Thing original about Bowie was his "Drag Show"! - still loved Bowie, though.
I'm glad I was there with Bowie in 1976.
@@MarkDarnell-cq2wy I've been listening to the audio of Bowie's Live in Nassau Coliseum in '76 - it truly is staggering radiance in so many aspects, from a 29 year old. And that is without anything from the even more adored Low and beyond. Few could equal the wattage of that. Then there's his 50th party (in Boston? I think, on YT) where he does Queen B with Lou Reed (it's a good 'un) and I'm sure Lou cannot believe the way this guy goes, the camera catches a little look he gives Bowie as he's bobbing up and down, as if wtf! (yea yeah we know, that stuff from Bolivia, and yet . . )
But love Hammil's music, the unique turn of chord or melody - pity it's not better recorded - but goosebump stuff in parts. The Black Room.

I was there recently...Hansa studio, and all over the city. Super atmospheric while listening to Low and Heroes (second sides mainly) on headphones...particularly at night. Sort of like, transcendental.
As time goes on and nothing good happens on the music scene, these albums will stand out even more.

Possibly. Both are great albums but Low has always been more interesting to me.

Having seen the Man Who Fell to Earth movie, I was intrigued when I saw the cover to Low. Turned out to be one of my favorite albums along with Scary Monsters.

Give credit to David's personal assistant and close friend Coco Schwab for getting him out of from LA and coke. David wrote the song 'Never let me down' for Coco, she helped save his life and Iggy's too.

Just a small nitpick: Neu! is not pronounced like "new" or "nyew" but more like "noy".
Should have used a narrator from Northern Ireland, they would have nailed that unintentionally.

Yes, in Studio Hérouville AND Hansa in Berlin, to be accurate - But that`s barely the point here - The writing and all inspirational input was collected in Berlin.

Could you use just a couple more cliches in the narration? Maybe say 'iconic' a few more times?
Music far too loud man while the “poetic historical narration” just far too much for 8 mins of the 24. Then you describe the album (in your opinion) rather than providing a “documentary” of the making of the album. Sorry, but with theloud music and all of this descriptive stuff from your point of view, it just became a bore.

Why is Low part of the Berlin “trilogy” when it was recorded in France??? Narrative is extremely curt and rushed, making it hard to stick to.
