All lotteries have private shareholders regardless of how much they share with charities and then there is a margin for prize payouts. What is wrong with that structure?
On the letter I received from them it says: "Did you know that players near you have been winning big lately?" 4 people won a thousand each in 2021. Hardly big.
Does anyone else think the postcode lottery is a scam . You never hear of anyone winning and the advertising they do , there can't be any money left after paying for the ads and the actors in the ads .
The odds ratio to prize is extremely skewed , 1.8 million to 1 odds by postacode , even on yearly basis , might as well go for the odds on a investment , by 5 years on medium rate

Also, after "winning" I checked the website and my postcode never appeared in the winning list. Called the customer support team and they said that "a glitch in the system excluded my postcode from the list" but I've been reasurred that postcode is included in the list for drawings. I did however, cancelled the subscription as everything was just a shambolic scam

I don't like gambling or betting. You seem shocked the lottery is a 'gamble' and is a business promoting a product in only the best light. This is how business works, and we recognise lottery is gambling. If the lottery told you it was 1,530,623 chance of winning the maximum prize, they would be a bad business. It's like having a CV that identifies all your negative traits and inabilities.

They do that much adverts on tv , there wouldn't be much money left, plus those actors in the adverts taking a fair chunk . They are not doing it for nothing . Rip off merchants need investigating.

I know of several TV channels that will be closing by the end of this year. 33% of the money goes to charities and then there's a margin for prize payouts and then a margin for operating costs and profit, there's nothing wrong with that structure. I know people who've won something, I know nobody who has won from camelots lottery except a few quid from scratch cards.

It's real my daughter won 38 grand in Coventry in May 2016 & her freind & someone i knew won 76 grand,the lowest win was 16 grand..I went to collect it with her & there were at least 40 Winners there..We had a photo with the presenter in the middle of me & my daughter..She's a lovely person & they give the winner's lucky bag & all liked me they give me one too (i didn't win) i don't do it, i like Thunder Ball..The presenter sure likes travelling..l do but not like that..They use loads Post Codes and that makes you feel like no Chance but it's Luck..Covs won quite a few times..🌏🌛
