No Registration Needed for Memorandum Of Family Settlement

Do you know that no registration is necessary for a memorandum of family settlement no matter how many immovable properties that settlement deals with?
The Supreme Court has observed that a 'memorandum of family settlement' is not required to be registered and is binding on the parties. In this case,
the family members entered into a family settlement in the year 1970 settling a dispute regarding a property. Later in 1988, as disputes again arose, they executed a memorandum of family settlement incorporating the terms already settled.
That is the settled legal position provided the family settlement or arrangement is among or between members of a family descending from a common ancestor or close relatives seeking to amicably settle their differences and disputes, and resolve their conflicting claims or disputed titles in the interest of complete coherence, harmony and goodwill in the family. The Supreme Court of India has recently reiterated and reaffirmed the said legal position by emphasizing that the object of such family arrangement is to protect the family from long drawn conflicts, litigation or perpetual strives which damage the unity and solidarity of the family and create hatred and bad blood between the various members of the family. #FamilySettlement​ #MentorTalk​ #HemantBatra.

Later she changed her version and transferredThey met the new judge again . Dismissed my petition. That is seniority.
