- In this Diamond Jubilee year of Jamaica's Independence, we are calling on all Jamaicans everywhere to start their day with the National Motto, Anthem and Pledge. This is Jamaica's MAP for Success!
The Jamaican National Pledge was penned by the Rev. Hon. Hugh Sherlock. See lyrics below.
The Jamaican National Anthem - Jamaica, Land we Love - was selected in July 1962. It was composed by a team comprised of the Rev. Hon. Hugh Sherlock, the Hon. Robert Lightbourne, Mapletoft Poulle and Mrs. Poulle. (Source: jis.gov.jm/inf...)

Before God and all mankind
I pledge the love and loyalty of my heart,
The wisdom and courage of my mind,
The strength and vigour of my body
In the service of my fellow citizens.
I promise to stand up for justice, brotherhood and peace,
To work diligently and creatively,
To think generously and honestly
So that Jamaica may, under God,
Increase in beauty, fellowship and prosperity,
And play her part in advancing the welfare of the whole human race.
This is the Jamaica i grew up in, not the Jamaica now, may the almighty god intervened in every situation that is going on down there now and save them, amen.

Our pledge is such a blessing. Powerful! We should pray it every day.
