I’ve been amazed at the rise in popularity of Philodendrons and other houseplants (Monstera esp). It’s quite fascinating! I used to feel a bit sad that there didn’t seem to be any younger plant growers, but that has reversed entirely. I’ve never known so many folks that are interested.
I was just admiring a canary island broom plant that I picked up at your nursery in February. It’s easily doubled in size and is doing great! Keep the videos coming. Your place is pure magic.
Thanks again for another great video! I'm glad to hear that you don't have to repot a plant just because it looks like it's root bound. I think people are too quick to repot a plant all the time especially a new plant they don't give it enough time to acclimate to its new environment and then they wonder why it's not doing well!
I have un unlabeled Philodendron, and it put on a few leaves over the last 2 months and then stopped. The new Cataphyll shoots out but the leave inside is all dried up. I try and not under or over water, same regiment for the last 3 months, with no luck. The temperature in Texas has gone up a lot so idk if that is my problem. But as always thanks for the AWESOME video!
Help!! I'm in California Bay Area and have a huge heartleaf philodendron I've had for about 36 years. It's outside under the eaves, healthy, seems happy, but it's getting out of control. It has two moss covered stakes I made and is about 8 ft tall now. i need to cut it back, but afraid of harming the mother plant. Cant seem to find any videos showing how to prune/propagate a philodendron of this size. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

It's such a fun and satisfying hobby. It has also made me more observant!
