Fall Foliage Season is OPEN! 🍂😍 What do you think about this tree? And here is the promised free Consistency Cheat Sheet: www.sobyartacademy.com/acrylic-pouring-consistency-cheat-sheet-by-olga-soby
When my daughter was 9 years old, her school assignment was "What do you like about autumn". Some kids drew pictures, some wrote two paragraphs about Halloween or Thanksgiving. My daughter wrote a poem. It was about a tree full of beautiful glistening green leaves. Then, when it began to get cooler outside, the leaves began to turn "she described all the colors in detail", then she described how the leaves fell from the trees, floating gracefully to the Earth. These leaves were raked by Mom and Dad, and we played in them, giving the leaves one more day of happiness, until next year. This poem was long enough for me to print it on "special paper". My daughter has a tendency to over achieve 😅. She got an "A+" I printed it again and decoupage it to a pretty piece of wood for my mother to hang on in her home. Grandma loved playing in the leaves as well. My husband would pick them up by the neck of their coats and the seat of their pants and fling them into the 6 foot pile of leaves! Giggles all around 😊❤ Your picture reminds me of my daughter's poem. Thank you Olga ❤😊
Supercreative, abstract, beautiful painting stunning vibrant colors! Also tree topic is a very ancient symbol and this version is fantastic and full with positive energy
Olga, you are an inspiration and a teacher to those of us just starting out…at least for me anyways. This painting is so beautiful and, to me, fall is very abstract as is your piece. I love it so much! I am a proud student of the sobyartacademy and as such, I have learned so much. I am practicing for my grand children. They love the artwork Mimi makes for them and I love how much they love it! I have begun my exploration into my artistic capabilities in my mid sixties. Never too old to start something new and never too old to learn something new. I couldn’t ask for a better teacher, Olga. Thank you so much for sharing your gift and your knowledge! ☮️ 🌳 🍃 🍂
As always beautiful painting. It is so fun of happiness and joy. You can feel the movement. Yes yes i would love to see this in a bigger canvas. As a challenge to myself I bought bigger and longer canvases.
I love watching you creating this gorgeous tree. It is amazing. … and yes Olga, please make another one with more flying leaves on a bigger canvas. And 1 thing I love as well; the tendrils that wind around the trunk ❤❤
Olga, you are SO INSPIRING! And so generous to share with us!! I do have a question... Every time I watch your videos, i see how steadily you pour the paint. I just turned ancient (69!!) yesterday and have been painting for about a year and a half. I have a very mild tremor disorder... Don't even notice it 95% of the time. HERE it stops me from any form of smooth line. I've tried quite a few things and have not hit on a good solution... I'm just hoping you can give me some tips! THANK YOU for all the joy you've brought me! I was in severe depression for almost a decade. Discovering this... BLEW THE LID OFF! I'm sure you've heard this before...but YOU, sweet, amazing, TALENTED YOU did more for me in three months? Then all the therapy and medication western med threw at me. There isn't enough space here for me too.Bully expressed my gratitude. To fully express what all this has meant to me... If the little old lady checking through youtube! I think of it as miraculous. ( That made me tear up a bit... I could keep writing about the quality of the "therapy" for a long, LONG time) Oh! After acrylic paint and you blew that lid off.I went out and got a job, not only got up, got out of bed... I hit life, running like a freight train!
❤❤❤❤ beautiful you are an expert in playing with fluid painting… thanks to share so lovely inspirational technique 🥰❤️🌺 many blessings for your work and inspiration… you are an artist full of love and positive energy… Great job… keep the good work… my dear colleague 🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thank you… ♥️
This is absolutely stunning!! I just love how you've captured all the elements of Autumn and how your techniques bring it all together. Thank you for sharing Olga 💖🙏
I must say that my fave was when you finished the trunk and started on vine around tree. You did so effortlessly like an afterthought. Just perfect. Your creative eye shows your talent.
Watching you is just plain exciting! I get so into what you are doing and you make me catch my breath as you work your enhancing magic! When you twirled the green around the tree trunk…..pure genius!! I HAVE to try your method, I can’t wait!
This is a beautiful uplifting piece! I love the colors especially the pops of red. I loved the first one you did too which was equally stunning. Olga, you are so sure-handed when you do your detail work. I’m in awe! Do you use a particular brush for this? You really make magic! Thanks for sharing!❤️❤️
Its the joy of creativity on Olga's face that is more important than anything else. One must try to enjoy the same. Beautiful painting from a beauty! 😃
I couldn’t love it more!! My favorite parts are the branches that wrap around the trunk and the movement of the upper branches. Fall is about movement of the wind and your design is brought to life. And yes I would love to see it on an even larger canvas. Thank you for so generously sharing and teaching! ❤️
Not only is this a most amazing portrait of a tree, it also shows the joy you had while creating it. Your happiness was barely contained in your voice...not to mention your body language! Superb creation Olga!
Wow Olga!!!! I loved the original fall tree painting you did before but this one is even more stunning!! I am so inspired and very much appreciate all the tips and advice you give in your videos and website!! I would love to see a wider painting like this with negative space! Fall is my favorite season too and this painting captures it beautifully!! 🍂🍁💕
I really love the whimsical look of the branch wrapping around the tree trunk. To me, It speaks not only of a joyful display of color, but also of self love. Another masterpiece! ❣️
I started doing fluid art a couple of years ago mostly due to your inspiration. I went to visit my aging dad in Texas and told him I wanted him to help me do a painting. Of course he foresaw brushes - and had never seen this type of art. With his "help" we created a couple of beautiful pieces for his apartment and they blew him away. I can't wait to do another one with him. Thanks for helping me to create not only art...but lasting memories with my dad. Cheers from Guam!
Your first tree is one of my favorite paintings ever, and I'm so happy that you decided to make a new one. It's gorgeous ❤! You are like Tiffany Aching (Terry Pratchett character) of the colors. The paint simply has no choice but to become what you want it to be 😀. I'll truly appreciate another paintings from this series. Thank you for sharing!
You read my mind Olga!!! Since fall began, I was thinking about the piece you did last year and hoping you do another similar one. YAY, you did it!!! I just love the process that you went through and everything about the results ❣️
I think this is one of my most favorite pieces from you. The colors are so vibrant and fabulous. It makes me happy just looking at it. I must try to re-create this somehow on my own. Thanks for the inspiration as always.💕💕💕
I literally re-watched your first fall tree video last night! I did my own version when it first came out, and yesterday I was thinking of doing it again, but as a triptych. Surprised and happy to see this new one you did today! ❤
Greeting from Cape Town, South Africa. We should be experiencing Spring now, but i think we went directly to Summer. Experiencing 35 degrees Celsius. It is so difficult to paint in this heat, as i have learnt not to switch the aircon on while my paints are drying. What i have learned from you, is the touch up after the paint has dried. Love this one!!
I also love the autumn. I love the colours of the leaves and the produce from the fields. But what I love the most is the movement, the activeness represented for example by the wind. Autumn is, just like spring, a time of change. And your new art piece perfectly mirros that in my opinion!
I have been watching your videos on and off for years, and this is probably one of my favorite paintings of yours yet!! I love it when you make a painting that represents a real object, but you paint it in a beautiful way! This one is gorgeous 😍
I love your beautiful impression of a fall tree. What makes you outstanding is your very clear tutorial and thought process as you’re doing the painting it’s not only beautiful but instructional and empowering to those of us trying to learn.
This is the most beautiful foliage I have ever seen!! Your painting is so creative and your attention to detail surpasses the beauty in yourself. Thanks for sharing your creations and your passion.
Olga!! I absolutely love this so much! I actually got teary watching you create this piece. You are such an inspiration and such a wonderful person. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. ❤😊

There is a tree in front of my cabin in the woods. The tree appears on the original surveying of the land over 159 years ago. I have taken many pictures of it, but they never quite capture what I see in my minds eye. I have done plein aire painting of it that doesn’t quite capture it either. You have really inspired me to try these techniques! Beautiful
