    If you dress good you feel good, if you feel good you play good, if you play good they pay good, and if they pay good you live good!

    Step 1 in my sales process is "recon". We research every customer (yes, let's call it creeping) and try to get a feel of the type of person we will be in front of. We match that to the best of our abilities, even going so far as keeping a second outfit at the office that we might have to change into for an estimate later in the day. Your 9am might be a big fancy house with customers that clearly what want the "Class A" treatment. The second estimate might be a tattooed young guy that we throw on a company branded t shirt and jeans on for. I love that you don't have a "script" for your attire as well.

    Being a cowboy makes roofing sales easy as I always dress business casual anyway. Button-down/western shirts, jeans, & cowboy boots work well for any time of the year, even when it is BLAZING hot here in Mississippi. Nothing wrong with polos, but I always recommend, to look different and stand out in a good way, to get button-down shirts with the company logo stitched or embroidered. I always recommend long sleeve as sleeves protect you from getting sunburned; plus sleeves can always be rolled up. Did I mention cowboy hats come in handy year-round as well when inspecting roofs?

    No sunglasses at the door! Big rule for me and something I tell anyone I train.
    Also I change my shoes based on the area I’m working, it may be all in my head but I seem to have more success in certain areas when I mans that one minor change.

    Hey Adam! I’m a woman in roofing. I lead a group of women in roofing sales for Terminus Construction Group in Georgia. In my first 6 months of sales, I sold over 600k.
    What is your preference for how women should dress? Hair, makeup? Thanks!

    I do roofing sales part time once I get off my other job, would wearing my other jobs uniform while knocking doors benefit me in any way? Like would customers trust me more?

    You were right when you say to match your Market. I would never imagine wearing shorts when I was selling roofs in Minnesota or Illinois, but down here in Florida people actually asked what are you doing wearing pants.

    • @68Tboy
      @68Tboy ปีที่แล้ว

      @cneubeatz3876 i don’t understand the Florida pant issue. I’ve been all over the world in much hotter climates and people where pants. However, children where shorts. For me I always want to dress one level better than everyone else, so here in Florida it is very easy. Just where pants and actual shoes. When I lived in Oregon you just had to lose the baseball hat and hoodie 😂

    • @TheRoofStrategist
      @TheRoofStrategist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a great question. I have no problem with someone rocking it. However, I do believe in status matching. I would favor wearing it certain neighborhoods and maybe sporting something less recognizable if you're working in a more modest neighborhood.
