I don’t have remote start, So I wouldn’t know. However, there is an option for remote start, but I haven’t messed with it. Also, Stock remote start is with RAM Connect, and that’s only built into the stock RAM radios.

Ray&Mae I actually found it :). In the system info long press the screen and a password screen pops up and enter 7890 on it then scroll down to Bluetooth name and customize it. Restart and boom it’s changed lol
I just got mine I was having a calibration issue where one side of the screen doesn’t respond to the touch anyone know a way to fix it or should I request a replacement?

Hey Ray, thank you for figuring this out; Phoenix Radio have not been so great a help on my new radio install! So let me ask you this; what if you replaced the image of the vehicle in (whatever folder they keep it) with the image of the file you want to show up, have you tried that? I would think that might work. Mine shows a Jeep instead of a RAM truck. Yes, it will work. Any picture will work as long as you have it sized correctly. Problem is, most pictures have a background. If the background is not transparent, then it will also show up on your unit Home Screen.
Does the car image in your back up camera (bottom area) where it shows your sensor rader does it work with your back up image, if so how did you get it to work? My sensor dont Register on this radio only my factory one. Please share how to make it work.
@@raymae9051 no, the bottom screen theres a car image, front & back of that car image are your color code sensors that should be connected to the sensors in your rear & front bumper. They ring red yellow & green for when you are near an object. How do you get this to function?
Do you happen to know how to fix an ac issue with this unit? I also have ram 16, and mine will not allow me to use control for ac at all. What are your settings showing??
Just saw this. If you are having your A/C functions grayed out, and are not selectable, it’s because of the incorrect vehicle setting selected. Mine for example is Ram Low. I don’t have climate control. There’s like High, Mid, Low and there’s one more. Forgot what it was. If you need further help, let me know. I’ll do a quick video on it.
@@raymae9051 i have a 2018 dodge ram 1500 bighorn and i just had the tesla 10.4 touchscreen radio like yours, my truck model had the manual A/C controls and im having trouble opersting the A/C controls on the screen after install, i think its set on AUTO A/C, can you twll me how to switch it to manual so it will work please
Hugo Saldivar no issues. However, keep in mind that you cannot make this unit do too much, or else it will be slow and glitchy to respond. For example, I had an animated screen saver and it would get slow to respond when running my rear camera. When I removed the animated wallpaper, it was fine.
Hugo Saldivar I just use my phone as a hotspot, have this auto connect to it, and I have no problems running the navigator off this thing. It doesn’t take that much data usage for maps anyways.
@@CWWJR overall, I say it’s an 80/20 split. I got a wireless CarPlay dongle, and that made it awesome for me. It still is a little quirky at times, like if I haven’t driven in a few days, I have to wait a minute or so to boot up, so I can re-adjust my heater settings or what not. That’s the only real major issue, which is, until the unit is booted up, I have no backup camera, no temp controls, and no audio. There’s a setting to adjust the length of time before it goes from sleep mode to turning off, but still, that’s a couple days. Personally, I don’t drive my truck that often. Only often during snowboarding season, and that’s it. Even then, I am driving it 2 times a week, and sometimes I still have to wait for it to boot. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I just warm up my truck by remote start to deal with that. If I am in a rush to pick up something like say, Home Depot, I just deal with it. A minute or so into the drive, I have full controls.
@@raymae9051 Thanks for the honest answer. I was going to buy one but after hearing all the issues from others and your 100% honest answer which I am thankful for I may just get say a Pioneer or Kenwood with android auto/carplay. I need something that will last wont fail for the next 3 years or so
@@CWWJR I would say this unit hasn’t “failed”, but it is quirky. Getting a Pioneer, Kenwood...etc, won’t be quirky. I don’t think any major company has a big screen like this though, which is the ultra modern “Tesla” style look, which takes over all your controls. If you are just looking for an audio unit with CarPlay/android auto...then yeah, I’d go the route of the likes of Kenwood.
jordan rankin it depends. It’s more about cosmetics than functionality honestly. It has a very clean, updated look, but at the expense of not being so convenient. It will take time to get it to work how you personally want it, but also keep in mind, it will not function like a purely polished product from a known manufacturer like Apple or something.
The Head Unit sucks, Facts the usb will no longer play music through my iPhone. The GPS no longer works unless you create a WiFi hot spot. The Head Unit changed all my native stats to metric, can’t change and they don’t care. It’s me and my trucks fault. They advertise free shipping and free returns, now the want to charge $150 both ways. It is a 2017 OS with 0 updates. Nothing is good about it. I have attached their reply to my concerns: Thank you for your reply. Sorry to see you opened an eBay return case. Please kindly understand that any return case does great harm to our eBay store. As you said in the return case "GPS for navigation only works on WiFi; that was not disclosed in the description of the product. My metric to US settings work on the head unit, however my native vehicle settings would not revert back to US after restarting vehicle. Unable to play music through IPad/IPhone through USB. Screen is sluggish, very slow responses. 1, Regarding to connect to WiFi to use GPS navigation, we have described that in our listing, please check attached picture. Maybe something was ignored when you placed order. You don't have to purchase a 3g dongle to use navigation, you could connect to your iphone hotspot and use WiFi. 2, Regarding to metric to US settings, if you have done the setting we suggested, and it still not work, then we are sorry to tell you that sometimes the protocol of car does not match with the unit, so it only shows metric on original dash setting. 3, Regarding to music playing, it is Android phone that is able to play music through USB cable, iPhonew is not. Terry Reedy I’ll say this: I did a ton of research before I bought this. I knew what I was getting myself into. This is not a perfectly polished product by any means. It’s from China from an off brand company that nobody has heard of. That being said, if you know going into it, that there will be some monkeying around required, then it won’t be such a shock. Some people don’t mind messing around with things, and some people do. Now, the people selling this should make that known up front, but they don’t. I believe that is the problem you’re having. All the problems you are having can be solved, or have a work around, it will just take time to figure out how.

It has 3 camera inputs. It might have 4, but i'd have to take the unit out to see the back to confirm that.

No, it did not come with the unit. I had to make it. All I did is take a picture that I liked and sized it accordingly in photoshop.

Are you having a problem with your head unit finding your device? Or are you having a problem finding the Bluetooth settings on the head unit?

Hugo Saldivar no issues. However, keep in mind that you cannot make this unit do too much, or else it will be slow and glitchy to respond. For example, I had an animated screen saver and it would get slow to respond when running my rear camera. When I removed the animated wallpaper, it was fine.
So how did you get it from drive to the main root folder?
Use Dropbox or google drive. When you download it from either of those, just download it to the main drive letter.
Can you remove the truck and leave that area blank?
Yes you can, but you still need to make a blank file.

Your android radio has to have some sort of internal storage. Whatever drive letter that is, is where you need to move the file to.
