    Thank you. After being forced to decode all sysex manually to enter new presets in my MIDI controller, this editor is like a dream come true. Thanks a lot!

    Kudos to you for this GUI - it is really the best tool to see what the Enzo settings are. All the Meris pedals have this dual function hardware which is just too cumbersome to edit without seeing everything at once.
    I have some insight I can lend for Win 10 users.
    I was unsuccessful with my Yamaha Bluetooth adapter - not surprisingly it is not intended for Win OS but it was built to spec so the workaround for one way comm from the Enzo was adding loopMidi and MidiBerry which connected the dots. But your presets wouldn't change the GUI knobs so I knew I had to establish two way comm.
    Because this set up, for me, is to memorize 16 useful sounds to recall on stage from a Morningstar, the purpose is to edit save and leave the PC behind. I bought an iConnectivity mio which allowed me to go PC USB to MIDI IN/Out on the Meris I/O ( don't forget to connect Out to In and vice versa). Once the mio driver was updated ( they only recently in Feb fixed a Win 10 issue) and the Win OS updated, everything worked !!!
    I had been using MidiDesignerPro2 and TOUCHOSC from my iPad but your SysEx editor is superior!

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. I too hate these hidden alt function. But I understand that is a good compromise in order to minimize the number of knobs on the pedal. I have some idea to make the editor, or maybe even a new app, more useful in a live situation, during a gig. And also a project to develop the same kind of editor but as a standalone app (iOS, Mac, Win) and plugin (VST). I just need to find the time...

    to all Disaster Area DMC 3XL Gen 3 users:
    1. if you use firmware 1.60 or older on your DMC 3XL, this editor will only work one way - from pc/mac to your meris pedal
    2. the Disaster Area support team can send you the 1.62 firmware, which is not on their web at the moment because its just a Beta version yet.
    3. then the settings should be the following:
    MERIS:
    - EXPR = midi
    - MIDI CH = 1
    - MIDI = out
    DMC:
    - DevA = Meris (MERS)
    - JACK = MID3
    - InCh = OFF (or anything else than 1 in this case)
    - USB = MIDI
    - THRU = ON (or some have the option USB here, probably another firmware)

    • @viktori1615
      @viktori1615 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you are using an older firmware (1.60), then the JACK = MID3 and THRU = ON/OFF options are missing and the editor will only work in one direction. in that case it also didnt work for me at all with the MERIS connected to the DMCs multijack output, but only when it was connected to the DMC midi output slot.
      with this it works now flawlessly.
      thanks to everyone involved and mainly thanks Francois for making this amazing editor!

    • @cmscss
      @cmscss 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed, it’s painful to use unless you’re an experimental music maker. If you record and play live you need to edit, save and recall preset - this should be child’s play in 2024. This aspect to both the Ottobit and Enzo is heartbreaking. The MC6 Pro really helps but I wish these pedals were less form and more function. It’s a bummer.

    I just want to be able to fine tune the tracking in global settings to actually play in tune. I bought the Enzo after watching a TH-cam video by pedal zone and was super excited about it! Sadly it takes what I play into it and alters it to 440hz. I play in 432hz and so when the tracking responds back roughly a 1/4 step off it just sounds terrible! My other pedals track just fine in 432hz and so I really hope Meris will be able to do an update asap to fix this issue… Otherwise I have to give up on the Enzo.

    Hi Francois. Hope all is well. This editor has been an essential component for me using the Enzo properly and getting its juice out of the can. Thanks!!
    Question: are you intending to do anything like it for Meris HEDRA? Love, /C

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @Zorionak2010. Thanks for your feedback. I'm really happy my little editor is useful to you. Unfortunately I only own an Enzo and a Mercury7, that's why I only developed editors for these pedals. I would love to have other Meris pedals unfortunately I don't have the money to buy them. Too bad :-(
      If anyone wants to give me a Hydra (or Polymoon, ...) pedal, I'll be happy to develop the editor :-)

    • @cfibanez
      @cfibanez 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Francois. I made an interesting discovery. Out of an impulse, I tried your ENZO editor with HEDRA and guess what.... it works!!! Alas, the labels of the controls do not match (of course) but I control HEDRA from the editor and (more imporant) I can get the CC values of the different parameters in the editor. I think you can do a new editor for HEDRA (may be also other MERIS pedals) by just changing the labels in the editor you already have. The knobs map exactly to the same positions, pedal to pedal. Picth→Key. Filter→MicroTune. Sustain→Pitch1. FilterEnv→Pitch2. Etcetera. Cheers. /C

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cfibanez Hi Zorionak2010. I'm not really surprised that my editor kind of works with other Meris pedals because they probably all share the same set of MIDI commands.
      I would love to create editors for the other Meris pedals (I own Enzo and Mercury7) but I don't have the money to buy and I don't want to start a development for a pedal I don't own/use. And without the real hardware to test, any development I could do would probably be very buggy.
      The code is open-source, so maybe somebody will fork it and create editors for the other Meris pedals.
      Kind regards

    As long as I don't care that moving the physical pedal knobs doesn't update the app knobs, can I use this "blind" with only a MIDI input to control the Enzo, or does it refuse to work if I also don't have MIDI out back to the computer?
    Basically I own an Empress MIDI box and Disaster Area Midibox 4 which both do MIDI *to* pedals, but do I need the Meris version of the MIDI box that also gets MIDI out back from the pedals?

    Thanks for this very helpful editor. Unfortunately, as mentioned in other posts below, recalling a preset does not update the knobs so it's very hard to fine tune an already existing preset. All my settings are triple checked, moving the Enzo knobs reflects in the software. What puzzles me is that in the video the editor actually reflects the preset recall. So what's wrong ? Chrome with Windows 10. Could it be a problem with Chrome, though midi access is allowed ? Is this a bug ? Any update planned ? Thank you !

      @ Understand the point of your message. However I'll put this out as a suggestion if it's helpful. You can decide. Perhaps Meris would pay you to build it for their product. Maybe also for their line of other pedals! There's a lot of great you've got going on there! It's rather exciting. When I recently bought my Enzo pedal they were "out of stock" and had to find one from another dealer. You can still see it on their website. More on the way they wrote me. Thanks!
