You need to see if your internet provider actually gives you 1000/1000 download and upload speeds
A lot of the time, the upload is super slow on most plans
Then after getting a fast upload plan, you need your own modem and router, a gaming one for example but dont get a cheap one

@@A17-bird most likely not packet loss only happens because of how many devices are using the internet sending wifi to all dofferent places so if he gets a powerline adapter it will use wifi only for him to use meaning less chance in packet loss and less ping in game

my dad upgraded out internet to 3.5g and when i do an internet test my speeds on download and upload are almost 1gb and my ping is 2-1 but when i boot up fortnite and any other game my ping is is always above 25-30

Network ping is different than in game ping. Your router will connect (usually) to a server/tower near your location for the best ping + speeds. When connecting to a game like Fortnite, you are connecting to a different server, likely further away from your exact city. Your router then has to connect to that server/tower rather than the one near you, which will make the latency increase... hope that helps
I'm sitting at 3 mbps download and 1.5 mbps upload. keep complaining 20 mbps kids, there are people out there who dont even get close to that.
