But I'd highly advise you keep the lid on, early season form doesn't mean jack in this competition, just ask the Roos from 2015, the Dockers of 2016, the Crows from 2017, Tigers of 2018, and of course the Cats of 2019.. we were 11-1 and flying, and we all saw how that turned out lol.. Go easy for now, we'll revisit this after round 17

If Melbourne can bring that same level of intensity and attacking style next week but fix their accuracy problem they will belt the Hawks. If they fluff around and kick double the amount of points they do goals again, though, Hawthorn will have them for dinner. Should be a good game.
Melbourne don't get a lot of night games at the MCG. Was lucky enough to be in the Southern stand last night amongst the 91,767 fans and the atmosphere was amazing

whole family goes for melbourne except me, dad took me to the MCG to watch my beloved cats for the first time, and the dees for the second. it was nice, especially sitting in a melbourne stand who booed whenever selwood, danger or ablett had possession of the ball. i got told to shut up when i cheered for geelong too xD

Melbourne have the soft side of the finals draw. If they play the way they did tonight with some more better kicking they’ll 100% beat hawthorn. And they beat west coast 3 weeks ago without viney at Optus and I’d back them over Collingwood at the G. Tigers will be a problem, or even Sydney. Sydney were the last team to beat the tigers at the G so they would have some sort of upper hand, but they have 2 wins to do before they think about that.

Now lets look at the cats: Ablett, Dangerfield, Selwood,........................
It's brilliant no doubt KY that midfield of Oliver,Viney,Jones,Brayshaw do so much damage not to mention the likes of Petracca,Gawn,Harmes,Salem,Lewis,Jetta,Hibberd etc etc.Melbourne have built a very nice team & also the additions from other clubs have slotted in nicely as well:)

As a Pies fan, I have hated Geelong ever since the 2007 Prelim, good to see Geelong lose a final....Although I do respect them. They did play well, regardless of what the scoreboard said.

Yes, I remember the 2007 GF very well...cocky Port supporters descending on the MCG expecting a premiership to fall into their laps, and then the bloody massacre began, minute by minute, quarter by quarter....119 points wasn't it? Good to see Port can't even make a final.

Melbourne only had three more free kicks and Melbourne won basically every stat
Coopstar if you actually watched the game you would notice that the umpires missed way too many free kicks and melbourne got a lot of decisions their way to either save a goal or make one
Mate Way Geelong played even if they had won the free kick count by 10, Melbourne still would have smashed them. Melbourne played like a grand final team during the first and last quarters.

Bad umpiring or not we deserved to lose. But it was horrible no doubt. I hate people who refer to the free kick count like that has anything to do with bad umpiring. It can on some occasions but there is not rule saying that each team should have the same amount of frees. So many missed frees...

You were obviously watching a different game or just clueless on the game in general. Both sides played below average football. It seems to me that you just have a hatred towards Geelong?
Adelaide and Richmond fans always make toxic comments about Geelong. It would be like water off a duck's back for most Geelong supporters who would even bother to take the time to read their pathetic comments.
I think you're half right...Certainly lacklustre football from Geelong but their defence has been pretty good all year and they were able to stem some of the attacks from Melbourne while their mids had uncharacteristic shockers that didn't help get a score ticking over. It was Melbourne's first final for awhile, so you would expect them to be better next week and get over Hawthorn who were insipid Thursday night. Yes, some very toxic comments here, the usual suspects as you pointed out.
