All week it was Richmond nothing was said about the Giants. Giants had flown in and out of states and we still took out the top teams.We got smashed but still proud on our achievements. Idk if you watch NRL but I support the North Queensland Cowboys. In 2017 by the end of the season, we just managed to sneak in the top 8. We versed the top teams and won. We were gonna be the underdogs but than... when we played in the GF we got fudged. Bloody MELBOURNE STORM!!! But I was happy with the effort they put up and I couldn't be more prouder.

To all those knockers crying that Richmond had a home ground advantage, that they played so many games at the MCG, you fail to realise that four clubs have the MCG as their home ground. Collingwood, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Richmond. Where were the other three clubs if we are to take your claims seriously? Richmond won because of how they played the game, face the facts and stop conjuring up excuses.

I'm honestly pretty annoyed with GWS. Their performance makes the whole 2019 AFL season look like a joke. It should have been a game between the two top sides, and this wasn't the case by any means.

I live in Germany (so, sadly, I doubt I'll ever attend a game live in Australia..) and I'm so disappointed with how "classic" european sports as Football (Soccer), Rugby (Union), Ice hockey etc. have become during the last 30 years due to new odd rules (and calling fouls all the time), over-commercialisation, "modern" but soulless stadiums etc. Footy is like a breath of fresh air to me (though I'm just starting learning about it..)..the only thing I miss is the possibility to score "real goals" (you know, with a net and a goalkeeper..) like in Gaelic football.. Welcome to Australia and the AFL Matsya. I live here in Melbourne, a city of 5.3 million. The MCG where the Grand Final is played is just 10 k from me and currently holds 100+ thousand fans often called 'barrackers' although fifty years ago, before'Health & Safety Rules, I attended when they stopped counting at 145 thousand. I was born in Richmond and so I'm a Tigers man. I love this Australian game with a passion. It was invented in 1850 as a Winter 'fitness sport' to keep Cricketers fit in our mild Winter. The then Heads of the at the MCG got 'Aussie Rules' football up and going. It ultimately became a 12 side suburban league, along with secondary competitions like the VFA , The Association. The other states & territories to take equal passion to Aussie Football, were Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and The Northern Territory. However, Rugby thrived in New South Wales & Queensland seemingly largely due to their disdain for we Vics & the ready availability of 'Knackers', that is, 'natives grabbed from nearby Pacific Isles & made to cut suger cane. Their stocky muscular builds were a natural fit for rugby. However, The AFL in more recent times has enabled two teams each in Sydney and also Brisbane (including 'The Gold Coast). Please read up on AFL in Wikipedia or Google the AFL for live games. Or wait a week and watch 'highlights' for free. And I agree with you. AFL could easily become 'overcommercialised' as is the case with most other team sports. But Aussie Rules Football is rooted in Community volunteerism, at least for the present. By now you'll know the rules I guess. Eighteen player on the field and NO offside. If you run with the ball you must bounce it also. Players must dispose of the ball by kicking it or by handpassing (punching it off one still hand in which sits th oval ball (sided between NFL & Rugby, but leather. A mark is awarded to any player who catches the ball over 15metres. There are so many rules, but tackling is essential for success. But you can't push a player in the back or sling tackle his head into the ground. Otherwise tackling can be fierce. Top players are between 5feet 4inches right up to over 7 feet. Most are clustered between 5feet 11 and 6feet 4. Average player in AFL run about half a Marathon each game. So they are athletic types. All the unforgiving years of destitution make it so much sweeter to see our beloved Tiges back where they belong. A testament to the hard work of our coaching and player group, they didn't give in after a disappointing 2016 and now we're flying after 2017 and 2019 premierships. I truly love you blokes seeing the way you play and the true sincerity you project playing with your teammates. Yellow and black forever.

Still probably one of the best days of my life. Seeing a cousin get married about a month ago, things that Liverpool have won cross code. They're up there but for just pure relief and just feeling great, even with the margin- can remember it well. Love the Tiges
People can make fun of The GWS, but a quick reminder; they came from 6th on the ladder, to beat Brisbane AND Collingwood and come to their first Grand Final. I felt Richmond would be too much for them, and they certainly were. Can we at least applaud GWS for making it as far as they did?

It was a one sided grand final because Richmond played the most complete perfect football as a team that I have seen to date in my 27 years alive. No team would have stood up to what we produced. It was mouthwatering. GO THE TIGERS! YELLOW AND BLACK!

All week it was Richmond nothing was said about the Giants. Giants had flown in and out of states and we still took out the top teams.We got smashed but still proud on our achievements. Everyone in western Sydney now know how great the game of AFL is. it is the best game of all.

Idk if you watch NRL but I support the North Queensland Cowboys. In 2017 by the end of the season, we just managed to sneak in the top 8. We versed the top teams and won. We were gonna be the underdogs but than... when we played in the GF we got fudged. Bloody MELBOURNE STORM!!! But I was happy with the effort they put up and I couldn't be more prouder.

I'm honestly pretty annoyed with GWS. Their performance makes the whole 2019 AFL season look like a joke. It should have been a game between the two top sides, and this wasn't the case by any means.

Happy that I finally found my favourite sport! I live in Germany (so, sadly, I doubt I'll ever attend a game live in Australia..) and I'm so disappointed with how "classic" european sports as Football (Soccer), Rugby (Union), Ice hockey etc. have become during the last 30 years due to new odd rules (and calling fouls all the time), over-commercialisation, "modern" but soulless stadiums etc. Footy is like a breath of fresh air to me (though I'm just starting learning about it..)..the only thing I miss is the possibility to score "real goals" (you know, with a net and a goalkeeper..) like in Gaelic football.. Welcome to Australia and the AFL Matsya. I live here in Melbourne, a city of 5.3 million. The MCG where the Grand Final is played is just 10 k from me and currently holds 100+ thousand fans often called 'barrackers' although fifty years ago, before'Health & Safety Rules, I attended when they stopped counting at 145 thousand. I was born in Richmond and so I'm a Tigers man. I love this Australian game with a passion. It was invented in 1850 as a Winter 'fitness sport' to keep Cricketers fit in our mild Winter. The then Heads of the at the MCG got 'Aussie Rules' football up and going. It ultimately became a 12 side suburban league, along with secondary competitions like the VFA , The Association. The other states & territories to take equal passion to Aussie Football, were Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and The Northern Territory. However, Rugby thrived in New South Wales & Queensland seemingly largely due to their disdain for we Vics & the ready availability of 'Knackers', that is, 'natives grabbed from nearby Pacific Isles & made to cut suger cane. Their stocky muscular builds were a natural fit for rugby. However, The AFL in more recent times has enabled two teams each in Sydney and also Brisbane (including 'The Gold Coast). Please read up on AFL in Wikipedia or Google the AFL for live games. Or wait a week and watch 'highlights' for free. And I agree with you. AFL could easily become 'overcommercialised' as is the case with most other team sports. But Aussie Rules Football is rooted in Community volunteerism, at least for the present. By now you'll know the rules I guess. Eighteen player on the field and NO offside. If you run with the ball you must bounce it also. Players must dispose of the ball by kicking it or by handpassing (punching it off one still hand in which sits th oval ball (sided between NFL & Rugby, but leather. A mark is awarded to any player who catches the ball over 15metres. There are so many rules, but tackling is essential for success. But you can't push a player in the back or sling tackle his head into the ground. Otherwise tackling can be fierce. Top players are between 5feet 4inches right up to over 7 feet. Most are clustered between 5feet 11 and 6feet 4. Average player in AFL run about half a Marathon each game. So they are athletic types. I keep learning about it in my free time, watching as much highlights from the past years as I can find here..I now even have a small pre-selection of potential teams I could go with, but I will decide for good during the season whether it will be Richmond (great style of play, love black & yellow..but I don't wanna be bandwagoning), Giants (I somehow feel welcome as a foreigner as they emphasize on having "no borders" in their presentation video..and it's still a fresh team with not much history that I've missed), Fremantle (same reasons as Giants) or Lions (who wear the same colours and Lion-branding as my all-time football/soccer club Bonner SC, a small semi-pro club). All the unforgiving years of destitution make it so much sweeter to see our beloved Tiges back where they belong. A testament to the hard work of our coaching and player group, they didn't give in after a disappointing 2016 and now we're flying after 2017 and 2019 premierships. I truly love you blokes seeing the way you play and the true sincerity you project playing with your teammates. Yellow and black forever.
