What’s your favorite type of event to play in? What was your favorite event so far?
Casually with mates, talking crap with banned cards limited to 1. It's not really an event though, but it's what i find the most fun. It's not for everyone. We tend to stay away from OTK and FTK decks, but still happens now and again. We keep track of wins and loses over the year, winners get bragging rights.

Recently got back into yugioh and went to my first tournament at my locals. Went better than I thought, won 2 out of 5 rounds and got great advice on how to improve my deck
Can we see more of Chris doing a vid solo? This video was very chill and it was like a casual conversation slipping in YGO tips than an informative video trying to be casual.
This video really helped me for Local Yugioh. I've been putting it off because I was afraid that since things have changed since 2015 people are way more competitive and will always be there with like really high tier decks but I'm not afraid anymore.

I qualified for my first Nationals for North America and while I was super psyched for the competition, I went into it with having fun in mind and I even brought a fun deck strategy. While it was still competitive, I lost most matches but had fun with every one of my fellow competitors.
The best experience, ultimately.
Sometimes on ygopro, if I playtest a meta deck and I run into a casual player, I do kinda go easy on them just so they don't leave early and hate meta decks. :-)

Yesterday I went to a card shop and signed in late for a tournament. After waiting for a round to finish up I ended up winning the WCS envelope with the Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Monster Reborn!

I have played for nearly 10 years and haven't once entered any kind of tournament or any card shops and it saddens me

If you count the worlds celebration event as above locals i went to my first above locals event yesterday and at least won a worlds mat from the raffle it was a lot of fun

I love Yugioh. I love the strategy that it involves, I can't build up the courage to go to my local card shop though and that really sucks.

Daniel Bostock play brother play! It’s a great way to meet people and to truly test your deck and your abilities. This is how you grow and become better. You will find many personalities and many different strategies but there’s nothing like playing in person and seeing the results of your card choices and tactics. Go with a friend or even a family member to make you feel comfortable

I'm like that too...but it really helps if you can go there with someone else, so you're not getting dropped into the deep end.
the locals I used to go to was hyper competitive, like you had to play a top tier deck to have a chance at topping, was kinda demoralizing cause I like playing more casual decks lol
I used to only play casual or rogue decks too. I eventually started adding in engines from some of the too meta decks and it really helped.
For example I added a small thunder dragon engine to my cyber dragons for a ycs and went x-3 bubble. I later added orcust to cyber dragons and to Dino's for some very fun and powerful combos. My cyber orcust deck went undefeated at my locals only dropping 1 duel the entire night.
Those suck, but it does let you know which players to maybe get in touch with and make a more casual, alternate weekly meetup with.
That’s how I felt when I went to my locals for magic the gathering.
The closest spot for me is 30 minutes and ycs Knoxville is four hours away, oh and we all need a Team APS sneaker head collection video
Obviously Paul is amazing, but it's nice to have someone else do a solo video on the channel

I just got back into it after many years and I am looking forward to going to my first local tournament.
last time i played yugioh was 2017 Seatle YCS. took Zoo and lost on the bubble to Billy Brake. was a litteral top decking game 3. Both of us were top decking praying for something to win. Was pretty fun. But no joke about the theft. My first ycs ever was 150th at Columbus OH and someone stole my whole backpack. had to drop the tournament even though i was going undefeated. Was a bummer but live and learn.

We need a video guide to competitive in the current market with online tourneys, cards every competitive player needs, analyzing the meta, something like that.
I played every regional i could back in 2005-2007. My little kid handwriting was so bad that there is no way the officials could have read my decklist. Only had my deck checked once, though.

I went to this one local tournament with a challenge. I went there with a deck full of lvl one monsters. It was a rank 1xyz spam deck if I remember. Out of the 8 players that competed, I got 4th. If I had just beaten the guy playing infernoids, I’d had gotten 3rd, my photo taken for their Facebook page, and a small cash reward. I didn’t win, but had fun none the less. I wish I had more locals around my hometown though. That one I mentioned doesn’t do tournaments anymore last I heard, and the closest store is at least a 2-3 hour drive.
My whole childhood in Japan was Yugioh, everybody in my neighborhood played the game, we would all play against each other and just have fun. But now, living in the US, I don’t have that easy access anymore....😭😭

Team APS I believe so, I looked up on the official yugioh-card site and I found only one locals that's like a 5-10 minute drive from where I am. It's easy to drive too, I think I know where it is, it's just a matter of opening up to the locals community and trying it out.....I'm just afraid of all the negative stuff about locals, like getting your cards stolen, mean people there, all that stuff....

Theres actually nowhere to play locals anymore cause most of the players have left the current game. I live in Bristol VA as well. I went to the local shop and they hadnt seen anybody in months.

@Giorno Giovanna I don't play naked decks, all my decks have pretty themed sleeves, double sleeves, mats, deck boxes. Especially with Heroes, got to protect my babies

@@joshbuckley5902 yes it is, I was being in general. Like extra production General. At a tournament however you just buy two brand new packs of the same sleeves, so you can keep your sleeves new and sharp for the duration of the tournament. Thank you for bringing this up

The highest level tournament that I attended was a YCS that was in my hometown back in November 2011. Still hoping that it will make a return. As of right now, playing at the local and regional level. #CyberDragonDuelist

Mostly more casual or rogue decks, maybe 10-20 players, plenty of trades, and weekly tournaments.

Yeah, YCS duseldorf earlier in the year had about 2800 people, so many that they had to split the event into 2 events

I had mentioned this on another video of yours, but i'd like to get back into the game after a couple years. I played the most during the tail end of XYZ and stopped shortly into Pendulums. Coming back into links seems fun but complicated. unfortunately the only people at our locals are the try hard meta snobs who will scoff at anyone who doesn't play sky strikers or thunder dragons, etc. I'd like to get a casual group going. I wanna learn how to play Blue Eyes Chaos Max Dragon cause it looks pretty fun. What would you recommend?

Ummm so how do u make ur deck meta?.... or is it certain archetype that are meta or etc?
T Overhaul usually when decks are meta, they have a major impact on the format, but yeah it’s mostly archetypes that are meta relevant, there are always gonna be decks out there that will outclass others in terms of how it performs. Usually overtime, the meta will change depending on certain cards, banlists, etc. For instance Blue-Eyes actually used to be meta relevant in 2016, as that deck actually won Worlds back then, now it’s considered rogue in 2019.

@@toverhaul1236 nekroz has taken a big hit tbh they were meta but at most now is rogue deck but I will wait everyone should know now when the new yugioh series start they will most likely be a new master rule to change up the game like it did synchros xyz pendulum and link the meta always changes so when the new master rule happens some old decks maybe become meta while making current meta decks rogue or just for fun decks honestly I play for fun so I run yubel because that's what I always wanted to play people give shit about it but dont listen to them play what you want to

Dear TeamAPS. Recently, I have been interested in the Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters Trading Card Game, especially the promo cards. I am still looking for the 2006 European Game Boy Advance Yu-Gi-Oh Double Pack Promo Cards. The box art, in both the front and the back, says that there are three exclusive trading cards inside and not two cards that the North American release has. But I cannot find any specific information online on what those cards exactly are. Do any of you guys know about this mystery? Or that the cover is lying or not?
