You are a stair expert, so we'll take your word on the safety of them! We would come stay in your hotel if your built one there. Man on boat looked really cool. Nice capture. Pizza with a view! You always find the best sunsets! Great job Matt!

Thanks, as good as it was to see Vilnius I really wanted to get out and see what things were like away from the big city. Glad I chose Trakai!

That's great! Did you take the bus like I did?

Yes from same bus station in Vilnius . It was so hot even with all windows open and stunk of b.o 😂😂😂

Greetings✌🏻 I know you did day trips via bus. Would you recommend it? Did you find yourself limited by the bus schedule or do you think I’d be better off renting a car for various day trips? Thank you for your much appreciated advice. Keep those videos coming👏🏻👍🏻🤙🏻✌🏻

The buses and trains were all reliable and seemed to have a decent timetable. I decided to stick with public transport as I could get everywhere I wanted to go by using it. A car would be great to visit some of the countryside and more isolated parts, however it's a bit more hassle in cities and large towns as you have to park it somewhere. If I do a similar trip in the future I think I would hire a car and explore the countryside a bit more. Glad you're enjoying the videos, hope my answer helps.

Excellent video Matt! I'm in Vilnius at the moment and thinking of going out to Trakai tomorrow 😊 it looks very idyllic. I'll be staying away from that dark doorway for 'free hugs' (3:47) though, that looks like it could be a danger zone 😅

Haha yeah I’d stay outside if I were you! Will be interesting to see if they’re still in the same state - I’m certain they’ll get rebuilt and turned into luxury apartments or a hotel. Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully you make it there! If you do go, have a wonderful time and be sure to let me know what you think of it!

@MattWhitingsEurope I did go today and I had the loveliest time! Its very idyllic there and it was very very quiet (with it being March and all I suppose). I went on the train and thought the train service was really great (much better value for money than I'd get on any southeastern train journey 😅) there was a really nice range of birds and wildlife there, too- I'm a big fan of birds and bought cranberries and grapes for all the hooded crows 😁 and I think the abandoned buildings in your video have started being built into fancy looking houses (unless I was looking in the wrong place!). It was nice to have a break outside of Vilnius itself, too 😊

Glad you were able to get out there and have a look around, I can imagine it being a great area for birdwatching and nature - plenty of opportunities for a relaxing day. Yes I feel that lots of train services around Europe put ours to shame - both in terms of convenience & cost. Glad you enjoyed your visit, I take it you didn’t get any ‘free hugs’? 😂

Definitely, such a peaceful place. And agreed, most train services in Europe completely put English train/public services to shame, in cost and quality 😔 its very dear to take the train anywhere in England. And haha, no, no free hugs were given or received 😅 it was an entirely civilised day 😅

Haha glad to hear it. Thankfully I don't use the trains all that much in the UK but every now and again I'm reminded of the cost. Crazy!

Ah yes old soviet era junk that was never finished. There is a lot of that going around.
